  1. I repeat my post from the Go Speed thread (I hadn't realised the difference): I have some sympathy with Horton having missed out on a big payday that undoubtedly was built into this season's business plan. I also think its right to issue a reply to the GSI statement and request an enquiry into that aspect of 'who calls the shots on Sky meetings?' However if they do get a meeting with BSPA/SCB and 'all concerned' and they do produce all the relevant statements of fact, how are they going to explain away both Horton and Havelock stating on TV, Podcast and in print that there was absolutely no fault on the part of Poole!! So any attempt to deduct Poole's points and restage the meeting should rightly be ignored. Maybe if Mick/Havvy ask Matt/Middlo nicely, both clubs can stage a home leg of a Challenge meeting for the 2015 version of the 'Hokey Cokey Cup' , previously competed for by the Bees and Panthers some years ago?! Promote it as a real grudge match - throw in some mud-wrestling for the Brandon leg - watch the crowds flood in @ a tenner per head - everyone's a winner!!

  3. May be old - but at least they can spell!!
  4. There are 50+ pages on the Coventry v Poole thread that state that anything Sky demand, you have to go along with!! ps. Nice interview with DW in today's Bournemouth Echo.
  5. I thought Mick Horton's statement blamed the officials - not Sky or GoSpeed?!
  6. Despite him winning his 2 races previously against 3 of Poole's heat leaders!!!
  7. When you are self-employed and/or Freelance, you follow the paymaster's rules.
  8. 2 of the above have been turned down already.
  9. Was it in HD? I thought my colour control had gone, every time Ronnie Russell drifted into shot!!!
  10. So pleased there are so many more closet Poole fans!! Is it 'coming out' day?? I know its a public holiday in Poland, but all this pent-up hidden love for Poole is quite overwhelming!1 Maybe, as DW is about to sign for another EL team then any further Poole references - especially negative ones - may dwindle? we can only hope............ PS. I hope DW got paid for the Sky interview - its not as if he's earning at the moment and he looked a little downbeat I thought!
  11. I think we'll find out fairly soon re your last sentence Philip as he'll be signing for another EL side come 28th June - assuming he hasn't already signed in order to get his UK visa??!
  12. Apparantly there is also a totally impartial view from Sepp Blatter, who refused any payment for the interview - insisting instead that a sizeable donation be made to his charity for ailing sports administrators - Blatter, Blatter, Blatter & Sons, The Cayman Isles!!
  13. Whats Colin Horton got to do with it?? Its nonsense!!
  14. Thanks Star Lady, I'll pass on your comments re the programme and presenter. I'm glad you were given a good reception - it does happen in the vast majority of meetings at Poole. We're not all bad, despite what some on here might try to have you believe!!
  15. Good performance from the Pirates - very solid throughout!! Great to see Davey Watt banging in some points. The track was pretty good as it has been for the past month or so - and a good healthy-sized crowd.. Hope young Lambert is ok - apart from Kerr he was the only Stars rider that seemed interested. Interesting attempt by the PirateCast lads (Meeting Sponsors) to get the Rider of the Night voted for by fans tweeting in. Deservedly awarded to Magic, just beating Davey, although Bjerre got quite a few votes too!!! ps, Don't like watching from the glass restaurant/stand - I will be back in my usual main grandstand seat for the next 'grudge' match on 17th.
  16. bike? horse? donkey? greyhound? what are you trying to say? BTW Bomber was more than happy with the Poole track when he guested a couple of weeks ago. He actually said in interview the track was the best he'd ridden this season!! I hope Sky don't destroy it for tonight! ps. there's a whisper that there's a hit squad waiting for Big Ron somewhere on the stadium approach roads!!
  17. ....but I bet you'll be watching on Sky tomorrow!! I'll be there with the meeting sponsors - even they have guests!
  18. So why did Havvy say on Sky that Terry had worked wonders all day to get the track ready for racing??!
  19. Doolan did well in his last appearance at Wimborne Road!! 8+2.
  20. When Sky sponsored the EL (they don't now), monies were paid to the BSPA who released it to the clubs periodically through the season. Not sure if it works the same way with money only for TV meetings?
  21. PQ7 - That's the pic with the report in the Echo that makes reference to 'the Coventry team falling apart'!! I cannot/ will not comment further other than to say that Poole and Kings Lynn have a great opportunity to bring some respectability back to our sport with the televised meeting tomorrow, in front of a packed house of £10 paying punters!!
  22. So who was right in their respective interviews? Horton said in the podcast that 'Coventry had been instructed not to prepare the track they way they wanted to'! Havvy said in the TV interview that Terry (the regular trackman) had worked wonders to get the track fit to race!!
  23. This is one of the most sensible posts I've seen on this thread - Agree 100%.
