It was post #20 and your post #21 that suggested the possibility of there not being an EL if Lakeside weren't in it!! I was merely putting an alternative and imo a more likely scenario. On the other hand, Sky used to stipulate a minimum 8 team EL when they were 'sponsoring' the league. They don't sponsor it any more. The current contract is just for TV coverage so not sure that they have the same requirement. If they do - and there is a danger of dropping below 8 teams - then that would support my earlier opinion that other clubs would be approached to join the EL.

If you think the BSPA will let the EL fold just because Lakeside may not be in it, you are somewhat deluded. The usual 'incentives' will be offered to the likes of Sheffield, Ipswich and maybe Glasgow to step up.

Strange how some people knew about this as long ago as Wednesday 29th April, yet the Leicester promotion 'didn't find out until the day before yesterday'??! Maybe they should have had better communication/relationship with their riders!!
