  1. Is this the same Neil Machin who 'wants nothing to do with Elite League racing'??
  2. To be fair, which other rider is going to have a real stinker at Leicester to make Rosco's decision just that little bit easier!!!!??
  3. If AM gives his guarantees for the rest of the season, then Zengota and Howarth can both breathe a sigh of relief - and Lakeside can resume discussions with DW!!
  4. I gather Buster's got at least half a dozen replacement air fence panels ready just in case!!
  5. Darcy only considering one club for 2015 according to article in Speedway Star. Visa cannot be applied for until ban has finished so likely to be mid July before he can ride for anyone. Currently seeking advice as to whether he has to return home to complete the application paperwork or whether he can do it from another country nearby.
  6. Not sure how you would fit Kurtz and Ward in?? Kurtz's converted average is 5.45 from July 1st. BTW have you spent a lot of time in New York, New York?
  7. Not sure why there's no thread for this 3rd home meeting in a week! Lakeside: Jonsson, Bech, Kennett, Lawson, Watt(Guest), Ellis,Birks. Leicester: Doyle, Worrall (Guest), Walasek, Wozniak, Swiderski, Lambert, Bates (Guest EDR). Should be a good'un.
  8. So presumably AM will have to ride at least once more - possibly longer if there is a time issue with DW's visa application?? Swindon's July team average with AM back in is 34.47, so if DW is still a real option they'll have more decimal points to lose for their 5th rider option. (PS. Apparantly Terry Russell is with MF in Florida, according to a photo from Middlo on facebook!!!)
  9. His form seems to have dipped a little (as it did for Swindon in 2013 when they replaced him with Howarth) but he's still doing what he's paid to do. His average has actually risen to 4.84 for July.
  10. So with the July averages now out and Batch down to 6.92, that gives Rosco around 4.66 to 4.80 for the fifth rider if he signs DW (8.70???) and lets either Zengota or Howarth go?!
  11. Howarth has a higher July average than Zengota.
  12. All promoters are members of the BSPA. Jon Cook is just not on the MC at the moment. Also re attendances - lets not forget Lakeside have 3 home meetings in 8 days so its not unsurprising that the attendance was low for the off-night TV meeting, not withstanding any special offers to get in for a tenner!
  13. So Rosco's comment that 'we have to get Howarth going', could be taken one of 2 ways then?!
  14. Why not?? Its the most convenient for him distance-wise. ( I shouldn't think its uppermost in MF's mind at the moment!) It might get Swindon the fourth place for the play-offs which should make for 2 good semi-finals and a final!!
  15. Reading the whole article it doesn't actually say that he's signing!! There are still averages, visa and other riders to sort out. Plus ' Matt Ford was unavailable for comment'!! (that's because he's away in the USA getting married today!!!))
  16. Piotr rode well in the rescheduled Piraterna/Vetlanda fixture last night so should be fine for this evening.
  17. If PK was a short-term replacement only, then the original rider can be reintroduced no matter what the team average at the time. (According to reports, PK had to be retained in last week's team, in order for Dak North to be used as a guest. At that time Swindon were not allowed to reintroduce AM in the 1-7 if he was still injured and unable to ride. The current 1-7 on BSPA website shows PK still in the team on 6.86). Even if changes are made with PK in the team, the team average is still 33.36 so they haven't got much room to manoeuvre. I think there will need to be some 'juggling' with averages and timings for the right signing(s) to be made.
  18. I am sure the feeling would be mutual!!
  19. If DW is to sign for Swindon then presumably AM must come back in to ride so that the side can be redeclared again with AM in it, so that he and one other can then be replaced?! The interesting point is when could the signing take place? Between June 28th and June 30th (ie on current averages) or on July 1st, when new averages kick in? If its before the 30th then presumably it will be AM and either Morris or Batch that will go as you can only have 2 x 7+pointers when redeclaring!? If its July 1st then it depends on what the new averages dictate ie will Batch (as has been suggested by some and refuted by others) be below 7 points by then?? Added to that (as Colin Pratt has referred to) is the further doubt as to exactly what average the BSPA/SCB will decree DW will be on?! If it is to be Lakeside - its a straight swap for Jonsson (who missed heat 15 last night 'cos he'd hurt his back!!!!!!?)
  20. What have Swindon got to do with this thread??
  21. I wonder if there will be any 'surprise' announcements this evening??
  22. Exactly!! (..and even that occasion may be expunged from the records?!) Leicester and Kings Lynn were ruled out early on - but anything can change with several riders and teams having poor performances in the meantime.
