  1. So its raceday for the Euros - have we had the latest, final line-up confirmed by One Sport yet??
  2. Strange there has been no further comment from Bees fans?!
  3. Kasprzak, Lindback, Hancock, Miedzinski..........................Woffinden............?????
  4. I believe the cut-off date has been changed this year to the 20th of each month! Rosco still saying 'some big decisions to be made' on the podcast on Swindon's website!!
  5. As has been pointed out on the Poole forum - Isn't Sarjeant currently serving a 12 month SCB suspended ban for previous wrong doings??! If so, then he is a very lucky boy that it was a new and lenient referee on Wednesday!!
  6. With Batch below 7 points from July 1st and Rosco now stating 'some big decisions to be made over the next few days', will it be Zengota that goes (to Leicester)?
  7. Maybe that's the real reason why they only charged £5 a couple of weeks ago?!
  8. Who? Not me not now not never!! Despite a long career in media and event/venue management, never a journo!!
  9. Leave off with the 'Harris and Garrity injuries'!! They both rode out of their skins at Poole last night!!
  10. Surely the official summary should include things that DID happen, rather than those that may not have??!!!
  11. I've stayed off this thread til this morning - as later than usual getting back from the meeting last night! Like many other decent Poole fans I don't condone the small number of idiots in one section of the grandstand who cheered the ambulance last night. I can assure you that many words of disgust were expressed towards those idiots. (Although I thought a lot of the cheering was at the ambulance finally coming onto the track, after what seemed an age!!) I'm delighted to hear that Sarjeant's injuries are not as bad as first feared. I think he's one of the most talented EDRs around (I even have him in one of my Fantasy League teams!!). However, I must comment on his belligerent and over-the-top actions towards the Poole Start Marshall, when attempting to pass on the referee's warning for 'moving at the start' in Heat 4!! He clearly wasn't interested in any warning, as he shook his head when approaching the tapes for the re-run. To then stand up and go head/helmet to head with the Marshall was just totally out of order and what clearly incensed many in the large Poole crowd and potentially led to any unnecessary booing/cheering later on - the type of incident that has a similar effect in any meeting!. Any stronger and more experienced referee (M.Breckon??) could have excluded him from the race and/or meeting, especially after knocking the chequered flag from the Marshall's hand at the finish of heat 4 before punching the pit gate post as he strode back to the pits having dumped his bike on the 2nd turn!! In fact in hindsight, if he had been excluded from the meeting at that point, he would not have put himself in the over-exuberant position of causing his crash in heat 12!! The kid needs to be calmed down a bit. Of course, none of this incident is referred to in the Coventry official meeting summary - why am I not surprised?! Finally, well done to Garrity, Harris (very fast engine!!) and King for making a decent meeting of it, but on the night just no match for a strong Pirates side, who are still not firing on all cylinders!
  12. Exactly what happened with Maciej earlier this season!!
  13. Newman is good v Coventry because he's always trying to stay well clear of Garrity, who for some reason always seems to have it in for him, to the point of over-riding!! PS. Great piece of pre-meeting build-up in the local Echo today by Middlo and Matt - should help towards another big crowd tonight!!
  14. It would have been good for any 'hearing' to have been resolved before tonight's return meeting at Poole?!!
  15. Didn't it used to be heat 6 for no fan refunds and heat 12 to call the meeting if necessary. Now if a meeting is called off before heat 10 is complete then a reduced admission price is applicable at a future meeting - details on display at the turnstiles!! (At least that is what it states in the Poole programme, so I assume its the same at other EL clubs?)
  16. As long as Batch has got over his 'Polish sausage' episode, I can't see anyone beating the Aussies - unless Batch and Morra are unwilling to upset their club manager?!
  17. Mick Horton has the current lease agreement to run speedway at Brandon - at whatever level he chooses. If however he chooses to walk away I'm not sure any other (potential) promoter would agree to take it on with such a short lease agreement. Very sad situation. Doubtless more info on this evening's 'Tapes Up' programme on BBC Cov & Warwicks!!
  18. So for the uninitiated its at Lakeside!!
  19. Yet Havvy, when interviewed at the start of the meeting, said quite clearly that Terry - the regular trackman - had worked tirelessly all day to get the track fit to race!!? That probably meant getting it fairly slick so that it could take a bit of rain, but when the Bees riders did their track walk around 6.15pm they saw it wasn't to their liking and got Terry to put some of the shale back and to churn up the starts - just before it started raining!!!
  20. Fair enough, I wasn't sure although that's not what Middlo was saying at the time, but hey?! We must assume therefore that the Meeting Steward and the Referee DID consult and decided to continue to Heat 10, whereupon I believe the rules say that a result can be declared! That's a SCB/BSPA rule agreed by all, or a majority of, promoters - not a Sky/GSI rule I gather!?
  21. His lawyers raised certain questions within the 21 day period - stopping short of an actual appeal. I believe his lawyers have recommended no further comment - which might go some way to explain the interview on Sky!!
  22. Thought the rules stated that the losing team could only request a track inspection after heat 10?! Something that Middlo has quoted in his post-meeting interviews.(Probably thinking back to that BV meeting which was their call ). So I guess Mr Clark rechecked his rule book and ruled accordingly! Any decision to re-run a meeting based on what some members of one team said would immeadiately challenge the decision of the Meeting Steward and/or Referee. Can't see that happening - it could potentially make every meeting farcical. PS. all this additional controversy simply adds to the pre-promotion of the next Poole home meeting on 17th - v Coventry! I expect a big crowd and lots of 'atmosphere'!!
  23. As has been stated before - but undoubtedly lost in the mists of time anger - Darcy apologised to Poole fans and sponsors at their end of season Awards night, last November.
  24. I repeat my post from the Go Speed thread (I hadn't realised the difference): I have some sympathy with Horton having missed out on a big payday that undoubtedly was built into this season's business plan. I also think its right to issue a reply to the GSI statement and request an enquiry into that aspect of 'who calls the shots on Sky meetings?' However if they do get a meeting with BSPA/SCB and 'all concerned' and they do produce all the relevant statements of fact, how are they going to explain away both Horton and Havelock stating on TV, Podcast and in print that there was absolutely no fault on the part of Poole!! So any attempt to deduct Poole's points and restage the meeting should rightly be ignored. Maybe if Mick/Havvy ask Matt/Middlo nicely, both clubs can stage a home leg of a Challenge meeting for the 2015 version of the 'Hokey Cokey Cup' , previously competed for by the Bees and Panthers some years ago?! Promote it as a real grudge match - throw in some mud-wrestling for the Brandon leg - watch the crowds flood in @ a tenner per head - everyone's a winner!!
