  1. You are right about MF and the Buccaneers. However there were imo some basic errors made when that venture was launched - not least giving them a Bournemouth prefix!! To also run some of their meetings the same week (the day after) as the Pirate's meetings rather than in the weeks the Pirates were away, was an error. But we are all experts in hindsight!!
  2. Not sure why this has rumbled on on the Poole 2016 thread? Thomsen will not be in Poole's 2016 team, especially if he continues in the Danish League!! Also if Poole are intending to keep Magic, Holder, Newman and either North or Gomolski, why would Matt Ford refer to 'rebuilding the team'??!
  3. Simply go back through the thread and cherrypick the posts that suit your argument!!
  4. Aah yes the Trump(ed up) years - but I still don't know what that has to do with Kent Kings 2016??
  5. Exactly!! No official protest or appeal mentioned!! Why would BV or any team for that matter, say that they will make no further comment? Surely if there was to be some sort of score reversal or anything at all that favoured BV then a comment would surely be forthcoming. As I've said before, as seen on TV, there was a clear breach of the racing rules, by the SCB officials on the night and the rider. Therefore any retrospective action should be in the form of a rider fine. However as there was no reference to any incident in the Ref's meeting report, I'm not sure what else should or could happen?!
  6. Subject to the points limit and team-building regs, I think there will be some surprised and disappointed fans and riders!!!!
  7. That will!!! Although still NOT likely or very unlikely!
  8. I thought Silver had sold out to the Motorsports/Stadium chappie weeks ago?!
  9. You 'know' you haven't got it yet or NO you haven't got it yet?! Or No you have no likelyhood of ever getting it!!
  10. Well, 'some' of the EL needed it, and I agree about the PL.
  11. As I said on another thread, the promoters clearly know what points limits and team structures have been discussed and tentatively agreed before the 'rubber stamping' at the AGM and they have to get the 'visa' riders contracted before they head off to the Oz GP, unless they come back to the UK thereafter. My only query on that is what if there is an extra team eg Kent Kings? To announce the full 1-7 (or most of it) before the AGM might be considered a little foolhardy, however much influence one might have?! (ps There was a whisper the AGM has moved a week earlier than originally planned?? Not sure?!)
  12. Each to their own - however misguided it may be!! What I don't understand is the relevance to Kent Kings 2016. I really can't believe the amount of negativity about the possibility of the EL having extra teams?!
  13. If that were totally true then the EL would have been operating squads 4-5 years ago; and the EDR would have started in the PL NOT the EL!!
  14. As one of the more knowledgeable posters SCB, i'd have thought you would know who gets copies of the Referee's report!! BTW, nobody has seen fit to answer my earlier question as to where in any statement from BV have they said the are/were officially appealing or protesting?? More resentful vitriol from the 'I used to be a centregreen presenter and commentator until I lost my job years ago'!! Yet another who continually talks the sport down on any/every forum thread.
  15. Pure BS. The TV coverage clearly shows Kyle tightening the cut-out lanyard immeadiately after the Start marshall took his goggles!
  16. I'm a firm believer that those British clubs that are financially solid enough - and it may only be 3 or 4 - should form the Sky Super League, with a small fixture list and able to attract the top riders.. Those same clubs plus all the others can then also choose to operate a weaker (cheaper?) team in what would be the equivalent of PL+ and/or NL level, which could be regionalised depending on the number of teams. The sport should not continue to operate and be strangled by the lowest common denominator every year. Most Poole supporters - and many promoters if they were honest enough to admit it - don't need it printed out!! We know it to be true.
  17. So it seems there was no mention of any incident at heat 12, nor any official protest in the official referee's report to the SCB, so I'm not quite sure what people expect the SCB to do?? Thank Belle Vue for writing in afterwards and wish them well in their new home!!
  18. Maybe Cradley then??? Perhaps that's why Sky are grooming Simon Stead as an alternative Presenter/commentator??
  19. Yes I'm for real, as is the whole crowd from Wednesday at Poole. Nothing I've posted is not in the public domain after his interview on Wednesday. All he said was that he still didn't know ALL the finer details of the accident as to what and how it happened and he would be flying home a week on Thursday!! Sorry if that doesn't fit in with your preferred and inaccurate version of events, but hey ho. All our best wishes go to Rod North in hospital.
  20. A 'relatively modest rent'?? But no income from any of the stadium facilities! The only income is from sponsorship, advertising, gate receipts and programme sales. The 'captive audience' is an interesting one - fans and sponsors come from far and wide, not just Dorset, but Somerset,Hampshire, Berkshire (Rick Frost!!) and beyond. Fans and sponsors want a successful team with high-profile riders - be they local or from further afield. Its a real shame that many positive ideas for the long-term benefit of the sport at the top level in the UK, are discarded at the AGM because 'the weaker clubs are frightened'. Rules and regs are always made to suit the weaker teams.
  21. In football, a player 'dives' in the penalty area and gains a penalty from which his team scores the winning goal. If after post-match official protest and intense media coverage, the FA decide to take action, then the penalty against the player is usually a retrospective fine or booking BUT the score/result is not changed! Also if it is believed the referee should have seen the 'dive', then the ref can also be penalised by being suspended from the refs rota for a while. So lets not paint speedway as some sort of special case!!
  22. What has also been said is that Dak was told by his father/family to stay til the end of the season - do Darcy's meeting and fly back the next day, which is exactly what he's doing!! His father will still be hospitalised when he gets back to Oz, having had more than just one (12 hour)operation since the accident!! Unless the injury was 'life-threatening' which we know it wasn't thank goodness, merely life changing, having been told to stay. clear his head and then continue with his job, why would the family keep updating him after every hospital development, especially as he will still be in hospital when Dak gets back. FFS people give it a rest.
  23. As you say, Poole have pretty much dominated much of the past 7 years - if not longer - and that is working within reduced points limits and changing much of the side every year to fit. If the EL sticks to the 'one EDR into the top 5' for 2016 suggestion - in Poole's case Newman (however they decide the averages), what would happen if he (or Garrity, Kerr etc) gets injured or has a dramatic loss of form? How will the rules allow for him to be replaced, with many people not liking guests and there not being a long enough list of strong enough young Brits?!
  24. Sorry you feel like that. Loads of people on here 'don't need to say anything' but it generally doesn't stop them, does it Jacques!! Anyway glad to see you are still keeping up with the EL finalists! It must be so galling for you.
  25. Sorry if my comment offended some. I couldn't get near the pits unfortunately - its more restricted when Sky are there - but most of the 'chit-chat' was going around before the meeting and then again after heat 10 in the interval. Although I didn't mention any rider by name in my earlier comment, It was mentioned to one of Cook's main sponsors, CFS, who sit near me in the grandstand and who also sponsor Kyle and Paul. They shrugged!! As I said I was only passing on what was being said and it was a shame to hear on an otherwise great night..
