  1. That's funny - Rye House were at Plymouth LAST Friday!!!!
  2. Ben Morley in for Starke who is riding for Somerset.
  3. You are forgetting the fines and pointless appeal fees, FB!!!!
  4. Its a permanent replacement for the rest of the season, not a guest!!
  5. Philip, please stop giving sensible opinions.........this is a speedway forum after all!!!!!!!!!! Should be a good meeting with Ward now 'dialled in' rather than when he visited Poole last - to ride!! Although Liverpool v the Premier new boys would still be a good choice.
  6. There is only one EL team (Wolves) who don't currently have at least one GP rider in their side. There is only Leicester and Kings Lynn that own their own stadia - and whose to say their costs/revenue are any better/worse than those who rent from a landlord, be it greyhounds or other motor sport?! Costs MAY be less but revenue will also be less as the stadium owners usually take all the food, beverage and car park income. Even Jon Cook has said that Lakeside would only operate EL despite the uncertainty of their facilities. Any cost cutting has got to be with the machinery, as that would make things less expensive for the riders who would then in theory not need to be paid as much by their clubs. That saving could and should be passed on as a reduction in admission charges to fans. Finally EL meetings should be restricted to just 2 days a week eg Mondays/Wednesdays or Weds/Thurs.
  7. Just as a bit of a side issue - but nevertheless relevant to those tracks in a greyhound stadium - there have been a number of big articles in the national press recently about the 'demise' of greyhound racing!! If not a demise then certainly a downward spiral in terms of attendance. This was also reflected in one of the BBC 1 programmes a couple of weeks ago about gambling and how many of the on-track bookmakers are only forecasting the sport continuing for maybe 5 years at best!!? Not quite sure whether that presents a threat or an opportunity to Speedway promoters?!
  8. Absolutely. Poole want North to get as many meetings as possible to stop him from getting bored!!
  9. Maybe Poole should have stopped North from guesting and scoring 7+2?!
  10. Maybe some of the Robins fans were asking for news in a barbed sort of a way?!
  11. I wonder what the odds might be of Ward and Lambert being in the same team next season?!
  12. I'd have thought that getting to the play-off final is a decent farewell meeting anyway!?
  13. Dakota North apologised publicly in the interviews at the end, having already apologised to Josh G!! Not sure what was wrong with any of Kacper's races?
  14. Kacper actually damaged his wrist in a fall at Swindon (I think) or he aggravated the injury from an earlier spill.
  15. If you replace only one rider, then you can do that on a like-for-like basis ie a rider with a slightly lower average (or slightly higher if still within 34 points). This applies even if the team has 3 x 7 pointers. If you replace 2 or more riders at the same time, this is RE-DECLARING your 1-7, which must still be within the 34 point (1-5) limit and can only have 2 x 7+ pointers.
  16. Well as it stands after last night, Dak could move back to heat leader for September, with the home meeting v Swindon to come (Not sure if away at Lakeside on 21st is before or after the cut-off??)!!!! Also the whisper was that Kacper might be replaced if his average hits 5.50 (Maybe we'll get a clue when we see the line-up for The Blue Riband on 26th??!)
  17. A good win for the Pirates with the skipper, the 2nd strings and Kyle Newman taking the honours. Dak wins Rider of the Night deservedly. Hope he stays at 2nd string for September!! First double figure EL score for Ginger too. For BV, Cook was the only one looking interested for the whole meeting.
  18. I think the team that Poole want least in the play-offs is Belle Vue!! Coventry, Kings Lynn and Swindon all give the better options for aggregate wins and bigger attendances!! So I'm hoping for a good win for the Pirates tonight - but it will be tough.
  19. Spotted Norrie on TV at the Somerset meeting last night - no doubt sussing out his guest options for the coming fortnight!?
  20. A win v BV; Lose to Swindon, a couple of points from Lakeside/Leicester away, then check the state of play for our final EL meeting v KL on 2nd September?!
  21. I believe the cut off for the play-offs is September 9th, with the first p/o semi final scheduled for Monday 14th.
