Elite League 2016 - What Is Required?
SteveLyric2 replied to 1 valve's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That would be a very sensible way forward - if all speedway clubs were masters of their own destiny with decent landlords and equally flexible other sport users. -
Big money is certainly offered in Poland and Sweden - but whether the riders receive it all is another matter entirely!!
-
Both have definitely. Although Glasgow have stated a couple of weeks ago that they want one more season in PL. Lets not forget Rye House either - under new management.
-
Ask Peter Oakes - he knows the full circumstances, as he says in his article. You never know he may even tell you if its not breaking family confidentialities.

The medical certificate was only for 7 days!! You are surely not suggesting that Poole should have 'doctored' or extended it are you?? Tut tut. -

Great to see both Zagar and North fit and well enough - physically and mentally - to be included in the declared 1-7s for Monday. Although after the GP I'm a little worried that Chris Holder's hand injury when he crashed in the 2nd leg v Coventry. may be affecting his performance?! As there are no suitable guests, maybe r/r might be considered??! -
Nobody - not even the staunchest of Poole fans - has said that the injury was life threatening. Journo Peter Oakes used the phrase 'life-changing', which I would imagine quite possible after a 12 hour operation. Not sure where this 'hand-only injury' news has come from, but even if true, the 12 hour op and its after-effects was taking place Friday/Saturday so still highly likely that Dak was affected by the possible outcomes at that stage.

Since when has a 'Friday' qualified as 'midweek'??

There was a back page headline in the Echo going back to June which said "You lost - get over it!!". Maybe it should be used again? -
Presumably Kent have found the money for a full air fence then!!? ps. Also rumours about Rye House going EL under new promotion.
-
Rumours of a 10-team EL circulating on facebook - with Kent, Rye House and Oxford all being mentioned!!!!!!!
-
What 'mould of Aussie users' are you referring to? ps. I think Tai will ride for Poole next year as MF has a major overhaul of his team!!
-
But he did continue to ride - and clearly wasn't in the right frame of mind and told his manager after his 3rd '0', sought medical advice, got a medical certificate and was replaced within the rules by a guest with a lower average. Get over it , move on, nothing to see here. 'I and many others have never disputed that Kerr was badly injured. As I said the issue was whether Josh G could have and should have still rode...........' Not anti-Poole really.

You win nothing in April-August - not even friends!!. Its September/October that usually counts for trophy winning - be it Poole or BV. -
The article in Speedway Star is by 'independent' Journalist Peter Oakes as part of the magazine's EL Play-Off Final preview. Peter Oakes has no specific connection with Poole Speedway to my knowledge - although he does admit to being a friend of the North family and 'aware of the full circumstances' of the accident.. The article includes......"Rod is still a long way from recovering from the accident. While it might not be life-threatening it was certainly life-changing and it came shortly after one of Dak's closest friends, Darcy Ward, saw his world turned upside down. Dak was all set to return home to Australia to be with his family and it was only at Rod's insistence that he remain in England. For those that have said if things were so bad, he should have flown home, I can assure them Dak would have done so had it not been for his father's express wish that he stayed here until the end of the season." Whilst some will undoubtedly claim that this is not proof - what else do people expect? His hospital records!!!? As for not being out with his mates - is he not supposed to celebrate Chris Holder's birthday yesterday?!
-
Makes a bit of a joke of the Interview in this week's Speedway Star (repeated in the Daily Star), doesn't it?! I'd have thought that having settled in Norwich he would be looking to do a deal at the Adrian Flux Arena?!
-
Is it Pancake Day again? I think I've spotted a tosser!
-
Try reading this week's Speedway Star - unless of course you think Matt Ford owns that as well!!
-
So Belle Vue - not exactly 'pure as the driven snow' in previous incidents - shouldn't have got a facility for Josh G then????? Or like MF merely operating within the rules!!
-
I've asked this question before, but aside from the circumstances leading up to the certificate being different, why was Josh G given 'compassionate leave' based on a medical certificate after the Kerr crash?? Because his 'head wasn't straight and he was upset'! I suppose Matt Ford arranged that too??!
-
No rider reaching the play-offs can be used by another team in the play-offs - its a rule (17.7.2 I think?!)
-
No worries - Leicester are looking for a heat leader with no GP commitments and only a 2nd tier Polish squad place for next year!!
-
Great. So healing physically is more important than healing psychologically?? In your world I guess I can see that logic!!
