  1. If anyone bothers to read the Peter Oakes article (that's Peter Oakes formerly with connections at Coventry), Dak's poor performance on the Friday was affected at that time by the knowledge that 'his father was undergoing a 12 hour operation following a serious industrial accident involving a toppled crane in the quarry where he works'. Nothing was known for definite how seriously injured his father was at that time (whether it turns out to be his arm/hand or something more) or what the outcome of the surgery was likely to be. He sought medical advice for the stress, worry and anxiety at that time, which was granted. I do understand that you often have a 'Poole can do no right' opinion, but on this occasion at least get your facts right!
  2. All that fans want to know is if anything goes drastically wrong (bad weather, delayed plans/permissions/work etc), is there a Plan B and if so, what is it? It would be very unusual for TR not to have a fallback plan - even if its not Oxford?!
  3. So every Promoter is believed now, then??!
  4. Have you not heard of Flybe?? Bournemouth or Southampton to Manchester, plus an overnight at the Travellodge for those that want to!!
  5. Taken from the Kent Kings website at their end-of-season presentation night:- Co-promoter of Kent Speedway, Len Silver gave a rousing message to the fans spelling out how ambitious the club is for the future of the sport in the county, “ Our ultimate plan for this club is to have a Kent team elevated into the Elite League (that’s the top division in the country) and in addition to that, to run a National League team alongside it; that is our plan. “There are obviously 't's to be crossed and 'i’s to be dotted, but I personally think that is what will happen and I will stay involved in the whole promotion as will Roger Cearns, our stadium owner. It will make this club the most exciting Speedway club in the whole country and that’s what we have to look forward to.” Silver continued, “ I have to tell you that it’s not all cast in stone at this stage. There are a few hurdles to overcome at the moment. However we are hoping that the future will make things better still, so that all of the things we need to do to make this club the greatest in the land we will be able to do. So I’m definitely looking forward to next year.”
  6. At least one or two have now started to apologise for their previous anti-Poole/Dak posts - on the Aces v Pirates thread - now that Jason Crump has given more detail!!
  7. Wow. An attempted apology for your 'CHEATING SCUMBAGS' post!! I'm surprised you believed the update from someone with such a strong Poole past!!!? I believe that the care and attention shown to Dak by his mates in the last week has gone a long way to helping him clear his head. So as long as he's got his machine problems sorted, it'll be good to see him back - be it a 2 point or a 12 point haul!!
  8. That would be a very sensible way forward - if all speedway clubs were masters of their own destiny with decent landlords and equally flexible other sport users.
  9. Big money is certainly offered in Poland and Sweden - but whether the riders receive it all is another matter entirely!!
  10. Both have definitely. Although Glasgow have stated a couple of weeks ago that they want one more season in PL. Lets not forget Rye House either - under new management.
  11. Ask Peter Oakes - he knows the full circumstances, as he says in his article. You never know he may even tell you if its not breaking family confidentialities.
  12. The medical certificate was only for 7 days!! You are surely not suggesting that Poole should have 'doctored' or extended it are you?? Tut tut.
  13. Great to see both Zagar and North fit and well enough - physically and mentally - to be included in the declared 1-7s for Monday. Although after the GP I'm a little worried that Chris Holder's hand injury when he crashed in the 2nd leg v Coventry. may be affecting his performance?! As there are no suitable guests, maybe r/r might be considered??!
  14. Nobody - not even the staunchest of Poole fans - has said that the injury was life threatening. Journo Peter Oakes used the phrase 'life-changing', which I would imagine quite possible after a 12 hour operation. Not sure where this 'hand-only injury' news has come from, but even if true, the 12 hour op and its after-effects was taking place Friday/Saturday so still highly likely that Dak was affected by the possible outcomes at that stage.
  15. 3.00 is an unrealistic assessed average for the EDRs moving up!! But I don't agree that their PL average should be used as its irrelevant as to how they've performed in the EL. Assess them all at 4.50 for a 2 or 4 EL position.
  16. Since when has a 'Friday' qualified as 'midweek'??
  17. There was a back page headline in the Echo going back to June which said "You lost - get over it!!". Maybe it should be used again?
  18. Presumably Kent have found the money for a full air fence then!!? ps. Also rumours about Rye House going EL under new promotion.
  19. Rumours of a 10-team EL circulating on facebook - with Kent, Rye House and Oxford all being mentioned!!!!!!!
  20. What 'mould of Aussie users' are you referring to? ps. I think Tai will ride for Poole next year as MF has a major overhaul of his team!!
  21. But he did continue to ride - and clearly wasn't in the right frame of mind and told his manager after his 3rd '0', sought medical advice, got a medical certificate and was replaced within the rules by a guest with a lower average. Get over it , move on, nothing to see here. 'I and many others have never disputed that Kerr was badly injured. As I said the issue was whether Josh G could have and should have still rode...........' Not anti-Poole really.
  22. You win nothing in April-August - not even friends!!. Its September/October that usually counts for trophy winning - be it Poole or BV.
