  1. No Watt will be on the list - despite his average being high spending much of the season as a second string.
  2. I disagree with your sums. In 2015 the limit was 40.5 with 2 EDRs totalling an assessed 6.50, leaving 34 for the 1-5 In 2016, if 2 EDR's total 7.5 to 8 points (using the converted PL averages) then that will only leave around 32.5 to 33 for the 1-5 which is less than last year. Incidentally, where has it been said that the Tier 2 reserve will only be 3 points?
  3. Hardly constitutes the 're-build' that Matt Ford has referred to??
  4. So all Zagar's b/s about wanting to stay at BV for the new stadium was exactly that then?? B/S!! Still I expect KK will love it!!
  5. If the Elite Shield is run in 2016. who will be Poole's opponents? Coventry who finished 2nd in the EL table or Belle Vue who finished 2nd in the Play-off final?
  6. Have I missed the bit about Monster signing Doyle, Batchelor and Masters??!
  7. A quote thats been repeated in the local Echo and which prompted Matt Ford's comment that Maciej may very well NOT ride in the UK next season! Holder has already signed for Lejonen in Sweden.
  8. Unless it goes to the SCB or arbitration and is decided otherwise!! Didn't Swindon/Leicester have that issue?
  9. For some teams 40.5 is lower than 2015 especially if you have a couple of reserves totalling 7 to 8 points between them.
  10. I don't understand any logical reason as to why Zengota wouldn't be classified in the Heat leader list - especially as he finished top of Swindon's averages. Its the same with Hans Andersen at Coventry, even though he finished as a 2nd string, he will be in the list as one of Poole's 'heat leader-standard' riders!!
  11. I've been in Dorset for nearly 40 years - imagine the feeling in my bones!!!
  12. My point is that its still not 'set in stone'. As at least 2 promoters have already commented in the SS, there are already some known issues which will be addressed (hopefully in the right way) when the AGM resumes on November 3rd, so I don't think any firm conclusions can be made yet and why its sensible for the questions to be raised. Whatever the final decision there will be a system that all clubs will agree on - or at least the majority!! It can't be too onorous a task if the 8 EL promoters have already agreed at least in principle, on the HL list, plus there is clearly some signs of other foreign riders wanting to ride who will be added to that list eg, the likes of KK, Lindback to name but 2.
  13. As its still not clear what the cut-off point for heat leaders is to be, plus we also don't know how many other foreign riders may want to race EL at 6.5+, won't this mean the risk of some 'heat leaders' not getting an EL place and consequently not being able to ne a 2nd string either?! Or does the BSPA heat leader list only include 24 riders to start with?
  14. I thought Doyle only wanted a midweek track?!
  15. What converted PL average will Ellis be on??
  16. Dak North finally got to see his father Rod last Friday/Saturday after flying back straight after Darcy's benefit meeting on Thursday. 'Still in hospital and on a long road to recovery' was how his dad was described! (But doubtless only those that want to believe, will!!)
  17. Yes thats what the Echo says this morning - despite intensive and good-natured discussions Matt Ford confirms Patryk will not ride a full season for Poole, nor any other EL team, in 2016 as he has already confirmed his Swedish and Polish contracts and doesn't want the extra travel to interfere with his quest for International honours. Reading between the lines,as this year, he might be interested in a late season deal if one became available at the right time and price!!
  18. Most 2015 season ticket prices were for 14,15 or 16 Senior meetings (depending on Elite Shield, Challenges but not play-offs!), so from BV's info it would seem there will be at least one possibly two more EL teams?!
  19. Trying to improve the content. How many re-starts?
  20. Wow, posters and leaflets for the 20th century!!? But we're well into the 21st!! I agree that the sport needs some expertise in deciding what it wants to be - a lovely family sport or high-octane thrills and spills - and a re-brand? Once that is decided then a concerted effort to connect with potential (and existing) fans via all forms of social electronic media should be made regularly and consistently. One big issue for me is the variation in facilities across the country which leads to a variation in the perception and value of the 'package'. Unfortunately the facilities/stadia aren't always in the control of Speedway's promoters. That has to be accepted and the product in that facility packaged to suit. If that means different admission prices at different tracks and/or only those tracks with decent facilities and finances operating at the highest level (whatever that might be) then so be it. Fans - whether new or old - want to be entertained, they more often then not want a winning team, but the bottom line is they want a good-value night out, with everything that might entail at their individual local track.
  21. Quick question - Are the greyhounds continuing for a few more weeks yet, or is that it for both sports now till the new stadium is built?
