  1. If by some obscure chance Garrity were to suffer a drop in form and therefore drop to reserve, then presumably he would have ensured his contract would stipulate that he remains on the same (1-5) wage rate?!
  2. Milik was on a 4 because at the time he was signed he hadn't ridden in any of the major leagues and 4 was the agreed EL assessed average for his level of experience. This has now been increased. Woryna should imo be on 5.50 which is what Wozniak started on last year - unless Woryna is classed the same as Eduard Krcmar, in which case he'll be assessed at 4.50 ------- and be gone after 6 meetings!!!
  3. £50k would be a lot for any Promotion to cough up, unless as a business 'losing money' they still manage a decent relationship with their bank managers???
  4. Fair point Packerman, Alan Hodder was of course the 'supremo' of the old National League set-up which had its Admin HQ in Weymouth. Richard Loder was also very much part of Mervyn Stewkesbury's set-up and they and their families all became regular attendees at Wimborne Road in those days. Great times with huge, huge crowds even in what was the 2nd division of British Speedway.
  5. I thought the bond had been £30k for the last couple of seasons?? Or perhaps that only applied to 'risky' clubs, after their end-of-season accounts had been presented to BSPA MC.?
  6. Coventry looking for as much lucky heather as they can muster for next year then!!!?
  7. Kacper is a good young rider, who Bees fans will find is very professional in his approach and will (hopefully) have decent kit. He has spent some time in Bournemouth/Poole as a student and as the press release indicates, has relatives who rode for Poole - hence his skull & crossbones on his kevlars ( you see I wasn't joking when I said this before)!! He hasn't yet ridden in any of the top leagues abroad so assume he will come in on 5.50. Its always good to have an(other) Poole link in the Coventry pits!!!!
  8. Thanks for your comment about Pete - he was a good friend!
  9. If both Garrity and Sarjeant had been on the reserves list - then which one would Coventry have protected? And more to the point, would they have still got the other one in the draft? NB. For the record, Kyle Newman only agreed to go back on the list after it had been confirmed that there was the opportunity to move up after 4 meetings. As regards him 'having no spirit' or ambition, he has already ridden in Poland and the indications are good that he will do so again in 2016 - assuming Polish clubs can get their financial acts together!! I don't recall seeing Garrity's name featuring in the Polish results service?!
  10. Just seen the shocking news about Pete Ansell's passing. Pete had continued to be a regular part of the Poole admin team and was often the first face to be seen when the gates were opened on match days in the main grandstand up until May when his illness took a stronger hold. My deepest sympathies go to wife Roz, his 2 sons and families.
  11. I thought that was exactly the point - so that reserves could go into the 1-5 and be tested against 'better' riders.
  12. I wasn't at the NSSC meeting but I was going on a post on this forum, so if you are saying I shouldn't believe what is said on here, why should I believe anything or anyone on here, including you?! I'm just trying to get to the bottom of a comment. Are you therefore saying that Mick didn't say or infer what is being claimed about Poole?! Also if fans knew who was on or not on the list and what the reasoning behind the compilation of the list was then any accusation of 'pulling a fast one' could be nipped in the bud straight away. Just as many Coventry fans are begging to know who is on the list and why, so why not answer them or are you sticking to the CVS comment in the Star that the list may never be published? Rides for Rybnik who are likely to be going into the Polish Extraleague in 2016. Rides with a 'skull and crossbones' on his racing gear! Maybe I already have!! Hence my ps!!!!!!
  13. Neil, as a co-promoter who is clearly following this thread with some interest - and no doubt chortling away at fans not knowing the facts - could you not simply explain the HL list and who is on it please?! Also you may wish to explain why Mick Horton stated recently that Poole had 'got away with' (or something similar) signing Buzckowski? Thanks (ps Or is it all so open to interpretation that some promoters may have a different understanding of it than others?)
  14. Ok to follow your suggestion to a conclusion, a question I have asked before - If riders come back after a couple of years away eg KK and Buzz (maybe others yet to be announced) then what happens to the other heat leader standard of the 24 on the list who won't get a job because clubs can only choose 3 at most?
  15. Which is another reason why I have stated that they are NOT on the list - BUT will clearly be used as heat leaders by their respective clubs. If the BSPA 'Heat Leader standard' list (as it was described inn the BSPA statement) has been agreed by all the promoters as being fair, then why are there accusations of 'rule-bending'??. If a rider is signed from the list and is one of only 3 allowed from the list for each club, then fine. If a rider is signed who is not on the list then equally where is the issue> They will line-up in the riding order as determined by their averages. QED. Job done. Once again its all down to promoters seeing who is available and agreeing deals quickly.
  16. But that's exactly what I've said. Buzz will be in one of the Poole heat leader postions. Its not me that has said otherwise. The only doubt in my mind is if there were changes agreed during the 'cooling off period' between the 2 parts of the AGM?! As I have said everyone can put forward suggestions (if not arguments) as to who and why should or should not be on the list.
  17. So what happens to those riders 'of heat leader standard' by your definition who do not get a team place? And how does your suggestion cater for riders like KK as an example, who hasn't ridden here in the last 2 years?
  18. So I agree it is another simple enough option but still only another opinion - but that would surely mean the likes of Schlein would be a heat leader and Lambert a 2nd string, as examples?! And how would you work out averages for team building purposes within the limit? Taking someone like Hans Andersen, whose average on your suggestion would be somewhere between 8.33 and 6.45 - I'm sure you have the figures??!
  19. But if there was a definitive BSPA list, it would have been a lot longer than 24 riders. Why wouldn't the likes of every GP rider not be on it - they are all of HL standard. No club knew in advance of the AGM which riders would be available and which wouldn't, otherwise why aren't the Emils, Lagutas, Vaculiks, Hancocks, Gollobs etc etc not on the list?
  20. Why would he be? How would the BSPA at the time of the AGM know that he was intending to do EL again?? Of course he is of HL standard by his last average but Not on the list!!!
  21. We can all put forward arguments as to why a certain rider should or shouldn't be on a HL list - but my understanding is that the BSPA list was only based on riders who rode in 2015 PLUS any new foreign riders that would be assessed at 6.50 (Did I not read originally that it was a list of only 24 riders - or did I imagine that?) If Shamek (on 6.75 I think) chooses to return then he is of HL standard but not on the official list so anyone could in theory do a deal with him. His riding position will be determined by the order of the 1-5 averages in the respective team. Unless of course there is a new rule that allows clubs to place their 1-5 in whichever riding order they like - with an appropriate race format of course??! Nobody is cheating or manipulating - or if you still believe they are I should wait to see Swindon's confirmed 1-5 and riding order.........!!
  22. No it doesn't. Sundstrom, Larsen and Mads didn't race in 2015 so won't be on the HL list!!! Neither are they 'new' riders so won't be assessed at 6.50
  23. I thought Zielona Gora were bankrupt and likely to be replaced by Rybnik??!
  24. You never know there may be another rule change that allows each team manager to put his 1-5 in any order??!!
  25. Buzz (6.48) is not on the HL list because he didn't ride in 2015 and is not classed as a 'new' rider and assessed at 6.50. However I understand that Buzz will line-up in one of Poole's 3 heat leader positions, with Hans as a 2nd string because aside from how his average was attained - Hans finished as a 2nd string. By the same token Davey Watt will be on the HL list as he ended as a heat leader (and imo will be one of Poole's final 2 along with Holder.) Danny King (6.48) also finished as a Bees heat leader despite how his final average was attained and has been re-employed on that basis. Finally good luck to KK - I'm really enjoying the comments and general support from many Bees fans!! Hee hee.
