The council and the football club have both recently said that returning to Poole Stadium is NOT an option and are seeking a new football stadium elsewhere ( which of course may be a smokescreen).
The new council will shortly be publishing its new Local Plan for public consultation in January 2024. The 'old' council's previous plan had the stadium site mapped out as one of several areas 'for development' without specifying for what? Although most people would assume housing?! So I guess its a 'wait and see'!
Because Poole had invested a lot of time and money and paperwork in bringing him over on the basis of a 2-year arrangement, which Basso decided wasn't practical after the first season due primarily Wednesday fixture clashes (despite Poole agreeing to minimise clashes by changing racedays in certain weeks) - plus Basso was tapped up during the play-offs!!
The recent planning application to close it and turn it into a 'senior persons community village' was unanimously rejected due to many local objections.
Not sure of any other issues, although equally not sure how regularly the Banger racing takes place or if there is a limit on the number of racedays?
Maybe Osborne should look at taking over the Ringwood (Matchams) Raceway and turning that into a full Motorsports venue, especially as the current Matchams Raceway Owner and Promoter, Craig Robinson, is part of the Swindon Motorsports consortium!?
Several jungle drums are suggesting Tom Brennan!! If true, that would keep Zach Cook at 2nd string (assuming he and Lawson are still in!?) but wouldn't leave that many points for the final 3!
Danny Ford on local radio today saying initial rider plans have changed in last couple of weeks due to 'unexpected rider availability'!
Fans should be excited with the revised 1-7. Announcements to be drip-fed to maximise media coverage over the next couple of months.
(PS. Full interview with Adam Roynon in the local Echo today and online. Front page/Back page and Full inside sports page - can't complain about that!)
