Don't the BSPA promoters have a meeting in January (chaired by Buster this time) to rubber stamp - or otherwise - all the changes proposed/agreed at the AGMs??
-
Brady has admitted to making a couple of silly errors, which is not unexpected of a rider of his age/experience. Of the other 3 in the final - Tungate, Masters and Fricke - all have EL experience which is current in the case of the latter 2. Brady will be fine once he is allowed to settle.
-
Its on the Leicester website!! Great news for all visiting teams.
-
Having had a few PMs with Starman, I believe his absence is self-imposed, but I may be wrong!! I don't like or dislike you Gavan - I don't know you!! I have to make a judgement (as you have of me) based solely on the tone and repetitive nature of many of your posts - and 'hate' is such a strong word to use in any context!!! Anyway back to the thread - well done to new Poole asset Brady Kurtz in getting to the final of the 1st round of the Aussie Champs.
-
Not just foreign riders - you could also get other underperforming Brits dropping to reserve, but possibly only for 4 meetings at a time?!

Not trying to defend the club in this instance - or any club - KL is not the only club guilty of a lack of regular info for whatever reasons. Some clubs have not published 2016 admission charges/ season ticket info even though their 1-7 is complete - whereas some clubs HAVE launched their season ticket promotions before they've even got half a team named!! As I've said on numerous occasions -I am not on twitter but I do check the club website, the local paper and the BSPA website before going on any forum. One problem this winter is that the 'off-season' is even longer than before giving all clubs the challenge of issuing something relevant on a regular basis!!
-
Why then is/was the number 2 position regularly quoted as the toughest riding position in the 1-7?? Maybe because the number 2 rides with and against each team's number 1 and against at least one other programmed opposition heat leader!!! ps. As one or two other posters have commented on my post of 2 weeks ago - exactly who has been disadvantaged by the HL list?? pps. Thanks and well done Gordon - see you in March!!
-
I was referring more to Starboy118 and Semion. Most websites and the BSPA site are usually updated -when they have something to update - by around mid-morning. I wouldn't expect clubs to post at 0730 hours - but then I wouldn't expect to post myself before about 0930 earliest either.
-
Seems as though some on here need to check their Club's twitter and website and speedwaygb.co

A badly broken leg didn't help Nigel Tremelling's career!!
-
Not in the article - but I'm not on Twitter so not sure what he may have also told his 'followers'.

Doyle and Holder are already in the GPs. Batchelor is injured. What other 'top' Aussies are missing????

Poland 2016 Season Extraleague News
SteveLyric2 replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
As soon as they've decided how many clubs will be licensed and how many leagues/divisions there will be?! All is not sweetness and light nor mega-zlotys in Poland anymore.........!! -
Speedway Champions League ?
SteveLyric2 replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
The FIM (Armando Castagna especially) have certainly been very keen for this WSL to become an established annual event. Poole competed for it once (one round only in Poland) and came 2nd or 3rd I think? but chose not to compete the following year when a 4-round WSL (one round in each country) was initially being suggested. Poole's decision was based purely on the costs of hosting the UK round with a limited capacity and without a major sponsor to cover some huge costs (including an FIM financial guarantee!!). Maybe with a new promoter and new sponsors(?) plus TV coverage, much of the costs can be underwritten?? -
Interesting inclusion of Lewis Bridger. This week's Speedway Star (in the 2015 'Winners and Losers' article) Bridger is quoted as telling all his '11,000 + Twitter followers in November 2015: 'I would need to be 100% sure its what I want (a return to racing) and right now its not!!'
-
I've said I don't necessarily agree with the way he phrases certain posts - but then I don't necessarily agree on how several forumers (BSF and Poole) phrase their posts ( as I am sure some don't agree with the way I phrase some of mine). Starman is certainly not the only one to make their posts 'personal' but when he does, more often than not, he is responding to another poster. (NB I see one of your (C4G) latest posts on the Poole forum has attracted similar criticism!!!!) I will defend anyone's right to post an opinion but always hope it is based upon some factual foundation and isn't too personal. I certainly don't believe in there being any sort of 'witchhunt' to get someone banned!! (Unless its an anti-Poole post?!) hee hee; nudge nudge; wink wink; (ps. Maybe the BSF Mods could remove the 'clown' emoticon?!, as Starman certainly didn't invent it!)
-
It would - if it were only one person!!!!
-
As I said I was trying to bring a little balance to the debate whilst trying to also show some difference between a 'national' open forum (BSF) and an official club forum (Poole). 'If anyone posts anything negative about Poole, they are anti Poole and a clown. If anyone posts anything negative about Matt Ford or Middlo, they are anti Poole and a clown. If anyone posts anything which he doesn't agree with, they are anti Poole and a clown.' On the Poole forum, I guess it will depend on whether the posts have any foundation or if they are based on fact!! Whilst everyone is entitled to an opinion, if it appears 'anti-Poole' etc then one must expect other Poole supporters to respond. 'Starman has single handedly done more damage to Poole Speedway on many forums than any other poster, something which you say yourself shouldn't be tolerated but yet you appear to be defending him'. Nobody can 'single-handedly' damage a business on a club forum!! It takes at least 2 - often several more - to be involved in aggravation and as I said its often NOT Starman that starts the disagreement - he merely responds in his own way and in his own style (which sometimes I don't agree with - the same as I dislike the way some other posts are expressed), but nevertheless defend his right to have his say. 'On top of the above he gets in to Poole FREE OF CHARGE and abuses this privilege on forums daily, but you appear to be defending him'. Don't see the relevance!! Several people get in free at all clubs - many like Starman are VOLUNTEERs not only on match days but on other days when work and preparation on the track and the speedway facilities are required or if the Management need other chores to be done. I don't give two hoots what is said on the BSF ( unless its something totally derogatory and without foundation about Poole ), but I do feel very strongly about the way opinions and posts are expressed on the Poole forum - by all members, not just Starman. You and others can respectively and 'single-handedly' avoid future annoyances by NOT responding to him. Or if you strongly feel it is your right to post - then so is it his right and everyone else's - but there is always at least one right way and several wrong ways in so doing.
-
Just to bring a little bit of balance to the suggestion of the 'possibility of the Poole forum being closed' - this is not solely down to Starman's posts which admittedly have got a bit personal on occasions and are occasionally also somewhat ill-judged but are usually no worse than - and often in response to - certain other so-called fans who continually and somewhat repetitively 'talk down' the sport with negative and unconstructive comments. Any official club forum is at the behest of the respective promotion and in MF's case, he 'tolerates' it until there is too much pointless negativity which might have a damaging effect on the club's commercial success - as there are a number of sponsors that also use the forum (and website generally) for positive feedback. Of course there is nothing wrong with people debating the latest scores/meetings/decisions on a club forum - but so often the most negative comments come from those that didn't even see the action them selves. I guess that's one similarity between a club forum and the BSF!!? Happy Speedway to one and all in 2016.
-
Not exactly much has gone on to chat about at Poole either - but that hasn't stopped you trolling the Poole thread, Starman or no Starman!!
-
So its confirmed that Batchelor has a 'badly broken' arm from a 'recreational motoX accident'!! (See Australian Speedway Season thread). He will miss the Aussie finals, which are also a route to the 2017 SGP series, but should be OK for his British season?!
-
Lets not forget some teams would have to give notice to their landlords/other stadium users for a change of race night - depending which nights are being proposed!!? Its clearly not so straightforward for clubs that share with with greyhounds 2 or 3 times a week or other motor sport. to make an immediate decision.
-
He did say that - but that was before the BSPA clarified that only the Tier 1 reserve would be able to go into the 1-5 if his scores allowed him to. The tier 2 reserve remains as a reserve all season.

You Shouldn't Call People Retards. It's Offensive
SteveLyric2 replied to SCB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You make sure you don't get RSI with all those repeated posts and have to spend some time resting, Gavan!!! The forum wouldn't be the same without you..............................................!! -
Unless its a new rule for 2016 - which nobody has seen yet - the Tier 1 reserve can still ride at either 6 or 7 (team manager's choice)!
