If Easter were to ever become a fixed date in early April, then an April - September League season for the EL is a reality. The league and play-offs are scheduled to be completed in September already.

Hopefully so will Mrs Nicholls!!!

Well I don't think it'll be the current 8 EL clubs in the new 'streamlined' version, unless any that do drop out are replaced by a similar number of aspirational PL clubs?! Stranger things may happen..............

I'm sure it was stated somewhere (Speedway Star probably) that the BSPA would withdraw any objection to Brits competing in either the Euros or the Pairs, as long as One Sport arranged the dates well in advance and along with all the other international dates and it didn't affect any EL fixtures by riders missing!! The BSPA's original objection a few years ago was to show support to Eastbourne - the only EL Saturday track at the time!!

Now that does get the old grey matter working!!!

Clubs have been working towards this one/two night EL speedway for at least a couple of years (3 by 2017) in order that their racing night can be properly negotiated and giving all the appropriate notice to their respective stadium owners. Bearing in mind most (not all) stadium landlords keep all the revenue from car parking, bars and refreshments, they are not likely to turn a total blind eye to Speedway's requirements and risk the loss of speedway income and rental.

If recent comments from those now in charge are anything to go by then there will be a league in which some GP stars (and other top non-GP riders) will compete in - albeit its unsure as to how many teams will be in it and how many of those teams will also run a lower standard (non-GP riders) in a regional division of Premier League standard.

Well it is still Winter!! Might have had a better chance if the work had been allowed to start sooner!!

Sky are getting in early with KL - probably while NKI has agreed to ride until he quits to concentrate on his other priorities?! Sky have 5 sports channels plus F1, and no Champions League footie now so are not restricting themselves to Mondays for Speedway!!

Its in the Lakeside press release on their website. It would seem that the 'squad' rule wasn't included in the 2016 rules previously submitted to SCB for ratification. However clubs are aware of what has been agreed at last Tuesday's BSPA meeting and are allowed to utilise it for 2016 prior to it becoming (and possibly being tweaked?) for the 2017 season?!

Great to see Bjarne is still doing the Ben Fund meeting!!
