Bspa Warning About Live Streaming
SteveLyric2 replied to robert72's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Alternatively as the BSPA statement includes the phrase 'without permission', then presumably that means that permission could be requested and granted and permission given. I guess it depends who you know, rather than what you know?! -
ooh someone's woken up in a bad mood!! Having said that, in case you haven't read the Poole report, I thought it quite fair and it gave much credence to the Lakeside riders as well as pointing out the negatives of the Poole performance.
-
Jeez, light hearted posts are usually accompanied by an emoticon - as this one was with a 'wink'!!!! Thanks for only quoting part of the post. I guess it suits your PL 'I used to be a speedway presenter so everything I say must be right' attitude. I'll try to find a suitable emoticon for 'winker'!! (Damn spellchecker!!)

Polish Xtra/nice Leagues/etc Live On Tv
SteveLyric2 replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
I wonder where Chris Holder will be racing on Friday 22nd????? -
Why wouldn't any club report emphasise their own club?? Its only likely to be read regularly by the club's own potential fanbase. Having said that, the Poole report on the home meeting gave due credence to Lakeside's 'stubbornness' in the first half of the meeting before Poole pulled away - not dissimilar to Friday's reversal.

It wasn't me who first used 'an 8 point average' as an example (it was Aces51 I think). My point was that if Newman (or Auty, Howarth, Worrall) finishes the 2016 season with a 1-5 spot and an average potentially equivalent to a good 2nd string/3rd heat leader position, then they will have earned that by riding in 'stronger races' and therefore could be considered for a 2017 1-5 place. Lets not forget that one of the proposals on the BSPA AGM table was for one or both second strings to be British!!!

Speedway Champions League ?

I thought BV might have been allowed to strengthen up a little in order to compete more strongly rather than just go with no chance of winning - (not sure what rider assets BV have!!? Thats why Poole declined initially. -
Chris Holder Sky Interview
SteveLyric2 replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Only on here!!! -
Apart from the fact that both reserves cannot be in the 1-5, (see post #34 above), I wouldn't mind a spell with Chris at reserve - if only for all the upset it would cause all other clubs' fans!! ;-) In Poole's case it is still likely to be Brady that drops to reserve, as Davey's rolling average will keep him higher initially I think when Poole complete their 2nd away meeting at Brandon next Friday 22nd, which will come into effect 7 days later.. PS. I've emailed the BSPA again this morning for clarification on the EDR rules.

Bspa Warning About Live Streaming

A photo of the offending fan could be taken by a stadium/speedway official on their smartphone and then circulated on all social media platforms, which all clubs utilise to maximum effect!! I think I've got that right, but not entirely sure?! ;-) -
I wasn't suggesting as a heat leader, merely in the 1-5, as the next obvious step in his development!!
-
He wouldn't say yes to Leicester if they stick to Saturdays!!!

Premier League V Elite League
SteveLyric2 replied to Shale Searcher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'm sure Scunny are 'steeling' themselves for an improvement in attendances now!! -
What I meant to say was if Newman, (or Auty or Howarth) finishes on an 8 point average (or 6 or 7 points for that matter) AND finishes in the 1-5, then he will have earned that average by riding and beating other heat leaders and therefore be worth a 1-5 place in 2017!! After all its about developing and improving British talent, isn't it?!

Matt Ford - No Sympathy
SteveLyric2 replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Mark Loram was pee-d off with both Matt Ford and Norrie Allan because they hadn't bothered to involve him personally in the negotiation before it all fell through. Mark would have accepted what Matt had offered had he been given the chance. Getting vans for riders was hardly a problem given who the club's sponsors were!! As for the 'one in the room' I would suggest it was either Mike Golding or the late Pete Ansell - the latter being who told me almost exactly as SS described above. -
Not a cat in hell's chance!!

Conveniently omitting that Lee Richardson also rode for Poole; that the Lakeside management were in full agreement to the Masters change (bearing in mind he didn't get injured until the parade lap!!) and that the change was sanctioned and approved by the SCB official. Also the meeting was not ridden 'under protest'!! -
People seem to be forgetting that averages will change/be updated every 2 weeks through the season. If Kyle Newman does finish on an 8 point average then he will be worth a top 5 place the following year (and another top 5 rider may well be on a steal of an average for 2017)
-
The rule isn't clear-cut, otherwise there wouldn't be any disagreement on its interpretation. I interpret the rule to mean 'highest EDR starting average' whilst others interpret it as 'highest EDR average at any time'? Both reserves are going to gain new averages throughout the season, which may end up higher than those in the 1-5, BUT it doesn't mean both/either will/can be promoted - unless my interpretation and the understanding of some riders is incorrect. Update: No reply from BSPA towers as yet.

SteveLyric2 replied to damosuzuki's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nothing RP. most of their employees work evening shifts so can't attend anyway!!! :-) -
He did say that - before the BSPA's final meeting to approve the rules. As I said, I'll stand corrected if its different to my understanding. As far as Kyle Newman is concerned, as long as he gets his chance at some point to go into the 1-5, he'll be happy. Equally I'm sure many Poole fans will be happy to keep Kyle at reserve and for Adam to be promoted initially.
-
I've emailed the BSPA offices for confirmation. No matter who is correct or otherwise on here, surely its what the riders themselves understand and have agreed to?!

Lakeside V Poole Ela. 8/04/16
SteveLyric2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But he can't be replaced by another rider from the original heat leader list until after 1st May, so it would have to be r/r. -
So Kerr to the 1-5 and Swidders to reserve?! Is that right?
