  1. A photo of the offending fan could be taken by a stadium/speedway official on their smartphone and then circulated on all social media platforms, which all clubs utilise to maximum effect!! I think I've got that right, but not entirely sure?! ;-)
  2. I wasn't suggesting as a heat leader, merely in the 1-5, as the next obvious step in his development!!
  3. He wouldn't say yes to Leicester if they stick to Saturdays!!!
  4. I'm sure Scunny are 'steeling' themselves for an improvement in attendances now!!
  5. What I meant to say was if Newman, (or Auty or Howarth) finishes on an 8 point average (or 6 or 7 points for that matter) AND finishes in the 1-5, then he will have earned that average by riding and beating other heat leaders and therefore be worth a 1-5 place in 2017!! After all its about developing and improving British talent, isn't it?!
  6. Mark Loram was pee-d off with both Matt Ford and Norrie Allan because they hadn't bothered to involve him personally in the negotiation before it all fell through. Mark would have accepted what Matt had offered had he been given the chance. Getting vans for riders was hardly a problem given who the club's sponsors were!! As for the 'one in the room' I would suggest it was either Mike Golding or the late Pete Ansell - the latter being who told me almost exactly as SS described above.
  7. Conveniently omitting that Lee Richardson also rode for Poole; that the Lakeside management were in full agreement to the Masters change (bearing in mind he didn't get injured until the parade lap!!) and that the change was sanctioned and approved by the SCB official. Also the meeting was not ridden 'under protest'!!
  8. People seem to be forgetting that averages will change/be updated every 2 weeks through the season. If Kyle Newman does finish on an 8 point average then he will be worth a top 5 place the following year (and another top 5 rider may well be on a steal of an average for 2017)
  9. The rule isn't clear-cut, otherwise there wouldn't be any disagreement on its interpretation. I interpret the rule to mean 'highest EDR starting average' whilst others interpret it as 'highest EDR average at any time'? Both reserves are going to gain new averages throughout the season, which may end up higher than those in the 1-5, BUT it doesn't mean both/either will/can be promoted - unless my interpretation and the understanding of some riders is incorrect. Update: No reply from BSPA towers as yet.
  10. Nothing RP. most of their employees work evening shifts so can't attend anyway!!! :-)
  11. So Auty to the 1-5 and Klindt to reserve - or is that for the meeting after this one??
  12. He did say that - before the BSPA's final meeting to approve the rules. As I said, I'll stand corrected if its different to my understanding. As far as Kyle Newman is concerned, as long as he gets his chance at some point to go into the 1-5, he'll be happy. Equally I'm sure many Poole fans will be happy to keep Kyle at reserve and for Adam to be promoted initially.
  13. I've emailed the BSPA offices for confirmation. No matter who is correct or otherwise on here, surely its what the riders themselves understand and have agreed to?!
  14. But he can't be replaced by another rider from the original heat leader list until after 1st May, so it would have to be r/r.
  15. So Kerr to the 1-5 and Swidders to reserve?! Is that right?
  16. What I find surprising are thos fans that reckon Watt will drop to reserve when Newman comes up?! It'll be Brady dropping to reserve as Davey's rolling average will maintain his 1-5 position - at least for the immediate future. I hope Watty can get over his off track issues asap - I don't believe they are injury-related!!
  17. ..because Woryna isn't as good as Zmarzlik, and hadn't ridden at the same level in Poland or internationally.
  18. No. What I'm saying is that Tier 2 reserves eg Ellis cannot be promoted into the 1-5. Its only for Tier 1 riders or those reserves with the higher starting average at the beginning of the season - which means the Tier 1 reserve in all EL cases I believe. Unless there has been a change to this rule which I, Newman and Ellis and others are not yet aware of?! If there has been a change, then I stand corrected - and it needs to be made clear to all clubs and their reserves!!
  19. I'll make a sizeable donation to the SRBF if Ellis is in the 1-5 a week Friday!!!!
  20. All the warnings that I've seen or heard state 'no filming without prior permission'! This presumably means there might be a way forward?!
  21. Adam shows his keeness to master small tracks by signing for Eastbourne today!! :-)
  22. As I've said before, I agree that the whole meeting should never be streamed, but the clubs themselves seem very reluctant to use their own websites to show weekly highlights footage, whether it be from Sky, the Track Video Company or a couple of decent periscopers who are given permission?! If it manages to get even a few more paying customers in/back in or even a couple more watching on Sky then I really don't see a problem. Anything that goes on any of the social media platforms is much more likely to reach the younger audiences than anything on TV these days - and may even whet their appetites to attend
  23. Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but.... it was fine to allow BET365 to stream whole meetings live last season, How did that arrangement not endanger the Sky contract, yet one or two enthusiastic fans showing a couple of heats from a few meetings to encourage more 'stay at homes' to attend (or at the very least to watch more Sky meetings) is a contractual problem???!!
  24. I'm going to cut and paste this and put it in my 'saves' for future reference - if needed?!
