  1. I wish the BBC and the Met Office would give us some sort of similar forecast!!
  2. If he isn't, he'll be seeing the air fence quite a lot!!
  3. Unless the reserve in question is good enough to hold their own ???!! Starke, like Ellis is a Tier 2 EDR which points to why the rule should only apply to Tier 1 EDRs as was originally proposed.
  4. The council have said that any development must have a minimum of 2 sports. The other factor about PTFC moving away from their Tatnum base is that they would have to pay back substantial loans that they have received to improve their current facilities!! Stadia UK would only be interested if greyhounds were still part of it, but the dogs aren't that successful/popular any more either publicly or politically, so imo it would need someone (a developer??) to buy out the remaining years of the Stadia UK lease in order for any development including flats, hotel, restaurant(s) casino, nightclub whatever plus the specific sports, to be approved. Matt has also stated that if speedway is to be included then he would insist on continuity ie not missing a single season, but I'm not sure if that would be feasible, depending on the complicity of any scheme.
  5. Leicester v Poole moved to Monday 9th May from Saturday 7th to avoid Leicester City on Sky (at Leicester's request) and the GP qualifier at Kings Lynn (which would suit Poole) Good sensible co-operation between promotions..
  6. More to the point is what will Poole Council be thinking about it all if and when the time comes?! Back to the theme of the thread - the point of the article and title of the thread 'Matt Ford - No sympathy' is that MF has no sympathy for other promoters who voted in the current rules, allowing Poole in particular to put together a team which on paper at least looks a lot stronger than most but on the downside has already lost both its away meetings!!
  7. As has already been stated and explained, its nothing to do with when fixtures are published (they are made available to clubs and riders before anyway!) - Torun have Holder under continuous contract for longer than Poole (Holder missed some months in 2014) so their fixture got preference for Holder's services. The facility in such circumstances allows for r/r or a guest. Just reading back all the posts from last night as I was out, Well done to the Bees on a great win for them but a couple of things could have made it so different - e/f and puncture - but that's speedway.. At least it may stop some from saying that Poole are unfairly stronger than every other team - that's both away meetings Poole have lost so far!!!!! I wonder what difference there might be against Wolves with Kurtz at reserve?!
  8. To be fair, Coventry were doing alright on Wednesday until KK and Bomber both crashed out - it went downhill from there, but shouldn't happen at Brandon!!
  9. Ok thanks for the reply. Just thought I should ask. What about the 2nd part of the question - are there restrictions on the days that speedway can be held in the new stadium once the Aces start to play catch-up? I thought I'd read something along those lines somewhere....?!
  10. Steady on CSC, Speedibee will not like posts or opinions like that - especially 14 pages in......
  11. Only when he was a rider asking for sponsorship...............!!
  12. Based on this year's proposals for team building, for 2017 there is likely to be a heat leader's list; a 2nd string list and an EDR list that all (or most by majority) promoters will agree to. Maybe they will be 'graded'?
  13. Not sure who you think I am, but clearly you've got it wrong?! Why does that not surprise me? I am well aware of some of the 'bit' that you have done and am equally glad that others have assumed the mantel much more successfully - but that's only an opinion too!! Don't go there Starman - leave him in blissful ignorance. He seems comfortable there!
  14. I came on the thread to see if there was any truth in the title claim that Woffy is returning to the EL?! It appears there isn't. No need to quote my post 3 times - I thought you weren't interested in my opinion?!
  15. Its in the MF interview in the B'mth Echo today and is already on facebook. 2 clubs have approached in the past week to move their home fixtures - presumably BV and Leicester - Not sure if MF is going to agree with the Leicester postponement, even though Poole will be without Kurtz and Andersen, who are both due to be at Kings Lynn for the WC qualifier (just to keep it relevant to Kings Lynn)!!
  16. Excellent performance by the Robins. So pleased for Rosco who had taken an unfair amount of stick!!
  17. Hee hee, had to chuckle about the 'children's entertainers' suggestion for Baz and Brock!! ;-) Mrs Baz and Mrs Brock would be chuckling too!! Love it. Many more fans used to travel away and stay overnight when there were things such as Northern/Southern tours - great days - often staying in the same hostelry as the riders, although that wasn't always a good thing...........!! nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more. :-)
  18. Someone on another thread asked a somewhat frivolous question - but I'll ask it seriously on the basis that nobody knows how long its going to be that the new track remains unfit!! Could BV temporarily move back into the old stadium as a last resort, to complete some of their outstanding home meetings? Even when the new stadium is 100%, and BV start playing catch-up, isn't there some sort of restriction on when speedway can take place??
  19. I don't particularly like to see any rider bad-mouthed whether he's a favourite or not!! Especially on a thread that appears to have no factual basis! Just expressing my opinion. At least I appear to be important somewhere - unlike some others.
  20. Repaired in just a few evenings, but its left a bump rather than a hole.
  21. So, is Woffy making an EL return? Nothing relevant to this subject in the SS, so this thread can be closed then!! Mods!!
  22. A bit sneaky by the Stars offering to fit this one in before NKI quits!! I'm surprised MF agreed to it quite honestly. ;-)
  23. Give me some examples of other member associations -sporting or otherwise - that give that sort of detail in a public document!! Usually when a vote is taken at an AGM it is minuted as per the number of fors and againsts - not the names of who voted for what. The AGM minutes go to the members of that association ie the promoters, together with a summary of relevant points which the SS usually do a good job in making public. Even if every decision was made 'transparant' (and I'm not necessarily against that!) - what benefit would it create other than provide extra fodder for those that gorge themselves on it on this forum and social media platforms?! amongst others
