  1. Just as a matter of interest - Davey Watt tweeted yesterday questioning why a rider with a higher EL average than him is allowed to double-down when he isn't??! (and he hasn't even got an EL spot at the moment). Wasn't there a rule that stopped EL riders with an average above 6 points from doubling down - or have I imagined that?!
  2. Hans simply said it was different to normal - that was after scoring his paid 14 points last night. Not sure Davey Watt - the previous captain - ever said anything derogatory about the track. He was always blaming himself!
  3. Only repeating what Hans said over the tannoy when interviewed at the end, with Gerald being required at lakeside
  4. Talking to Kyle and his dad tonight and it seems that Kyle was mis-diagnosed initially at his local hospital and as a consequence was not prescribed strong enough anti-biotics. Hence his extreme pain and being taken into B'mth Hospital where he was properly diagnosed, but by which time his 'bleed' had turned into early stage sepsis. Extra strong anti-biotics became the order of the day along with fluids to flush out the infection. When asked when he would be back, the answer was 'when he feels ready'! But I think his target is for the Brit semi final on 15th. As for Chris Holder he was utterly dejected in the interviews at the end. Despite scoring 9 points (would have been paid 12 if not for losing his steel shoe!) he still has issues with his machinery without knowing exactly what is going wrong. Overall there was some great racing tonight on a differently prepared track as Track Curator Gerald was required at Lakeside.
  5. Good news for the Pirates. Kyle Newman released from hospital today having been 'flushed through with anti-biotics and fluids'. Not ready to come back racing yet but will continue his recuperation at home.
  6. Best set the record timer for half an hour extra!!!!
  7. I guess the toss of a coin is similar to the spin of a bottle, when choosing?!
  8. So will the track prep be overseen by Mr Russell on behalf of Sky, allowing Gerald Richter to be at Poole?! ;-)
  9. I assume Mick Horton will be looking to sign up a load of Leicester track specialists for 2017 then?! At least that should keep him away from any Poole assets!!!!! ;-)
  10. Will the new co-owners be introduced on Thursday?? Is M. Bowden the same chap who ran Plymouth a while ago??
  11. I don't share your optimism - we go to Leicester on Monday!!!!!!!!! Glad I shall be away for a week!!
  12. Not sure where you are getting your averages from?? Bjarne still is a 2nd string - as he was at Wolves on Monday, when he rode at 4!! Poole have 'chosen' to operate r/r in the number 2 position, rather than the number 4. That could mean the Holder/Kurtz partnership will be maintained at home!
  13. ...and hopefully scoring more than he did in sweden last night!!!!
  14. So Poole choose to go r/r at 2, clearly hoping that Chris Holder's renowned team riding skills will gain us loads of points 42-48. ps HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARCY!!
  15. Actually the rule states each team should have 1 tier 1 EDR and 1 tier 2 EDR. That was the point of my post above because Poole will be tracking 2xTier 1 EDRs in Auty and Wright.
  16. Wrong again rmc, never mind eh?! Incidentally they are EDRs now rather than FTRs!!
  17. It didn't affect Mark Loram either - but thats another story!!!! So Josh Auty rides at 3 tomorrow, being on the EDR list but with an average lower than Adam's!!?? So Poole have 2 Tier 1 EDRs in the team against Wolves, plus r/r for a 2nd string. Is that covered by the rules? I have an occasional speedway fan coming along tomorrow - occasional due to shift work regretably - I'll do my best to explain this one. I wonder what the rule would be if Poole decided they wanted to permanently replace Adam on his current average?
  18. Wasn't expecting too much from Bjarne's first couple of meetings to be honest (Wolves and Leicester - both away) but he'll do better once he's settled back in. Chris needs to get his act together for the supporters as well as for the management. Oh well onwards and upwards - at least those that reckon Poole are unfairly too strong for the rest of the EL should now be able to back off and enjoy the fact that the EL will have new champions this season!! (ps. for those saddo's that may want to check back on the posts - I did tip Belle Vue at the very start of the season).
  19. BSPA meeting today to discuss the clarification and properly-worded addendum to the rules regarding whether Adam Ellis can be replaced by an 8 point guest or a Tier 2 EDR no hoper at 3 for Wednesday?
  20. You are wrong with that last sentence - Woryna should have been Poole's number 8!!!
  21. A lot of people have been asking that - not just this season either!!
  22. Sky haven't been to Poole yet this season. May 23rd Sky are at Poole to see the Champions-Elect!! and I'm not saying who......!!
