Threat To The Elite League
SteveLyric2 replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Interesting interview on BBC Radio Solent this morning with Matt Ford wishing for more fixtures next season - either from an expanded EL and/or a second competition. Fans to be polled for their opinions and views to be put to the BSPA AGM in October/November!! -

You say the whole forum is a live broadcast, not just highlights of the best questions?! ;-) Do Sky know? ;-) Is it breaching any publicity rules? ;-) Is periscope involved in any way? ;-) Hope it goes well!! :-) -
Rules Are Rules - But Spirit Lost Forever !

5 man teams in Denmark only ride 14 heat meetings so presumably you would have to charge less at the gate?! The top riders in Danish League who presumably make top demands for their contracts can also take 7 rides per meeting, so I'm not sure there would be much of a saving for promoters? -
He can still appeal. Horton did and got the biggest chunk of the fine removed.

Kerr signs for Scunthorpe!! Great news.

Oooohh someone has a bee in their bonnet!! I made no reference to Poole in my post and am fully understanding of the EL rules this year. My point was merely aimed at those bleating about PK returning and slotting initially into a reserve berth. The comparison with Sweden was merely to illustrate that they too - no matter what the race format - can have 'top' riders in a reserve berth who can take extra rides if required. As much as I may not like the rule - either in EL or in Sweden - it is nevertheless allowed under the current racing format for any team to utilise - nothing to do with Poole specifically at all. Unless you mean that as I'm a Poole fan I'm not entitled to an opinion?! As you clearly have some sort of problem with anything/everything Poole, I feel sorry for your bitterness. I cannot begin to understand the frustrations in your life as a one-time announcer who stopped being heard - for whatever reasons?! A bee in your bonnet?? Seems more like a pain in the neck. Keep taking the tablets and stay off your keyboard so late into the night!! -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
SteveLyric2 replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I bet he was pig-sick when Norrie signed him to Poole. Ha ha . Ah but wait, that was when he became World Champ - maybe thats the reason for Gav's 'liking' of all things Poole!!?!! -
Matt is quite open to a few sharing his ride!!! :-) :-) ;-)
-
The only likely fixture 'chaos' will be with Poole's outstanding 3 away meetings still to be sorted - but that will be primarily down to the home clubs to sort out suitable dates when Poole have a full side available!! ;-) ;-)

Doesn't the Polish league have fixtures the day after most of the GPs??? What's all the fuss about? -
Wolves V Coventry Mon 6th June 2016
SteveLyric2 replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Strange isn't it that the Swedish League - often held up to be one of the best alongside Poland - have rules that allow the likes of PK and others eg AJ etc to ride at reserve and there's hardly a peep!! Not even on the Swedish equivalent of the BSF - assuming there is such a thing?! ;-) -
As I've said before, Poole were looking to rearrange their one outstanding home fixture v Leicester for Monday 20th until it was realised that England had an 8 pm start v Slovakia in the Euros. Looking at the overall EL programme there are also considerable gaps in EL fixtures across the board in June. eg after tonight's Wolves v Coventry meeting there isn't another scheduled til 16th!!

If Buster Chapman gets his way for next year there will only be one EDR per team so the other reserve is likely to be a stronger rider for most of the time unless another new reg is introduced to control it?! -
He wouldn't be doubling down if he hasn't got an EL place!! But I take the point about a 6+ point starting average - even though the likes of Craig Cook seem to have got round it or has that been allowed because he's a Brit?!

I expect the Hemsleys will want the loan fee back - as they did tried with Bjarne????
