  1. With Woryna. Sargeant still in the 1-5. Those 2 plus Bates and King to take the r/r rides.
  2. With the track becoming 'dangerous' after the 2 hefty rainfalls, Poole would have been quite happy to call it after Heat 10!! :-) ;-)
  3. Why should it be any surprise that there are 'likes' for Poole posts, by Poole fans on a Poole thread? ....and that you have actually gone back to count your 'likes' as if it actually justifies your existence?!
  4. Can't imagine Summers being allowed to race?! Not after Masters was stopped from riding at Belle Vue when Edinburgh was called off similarly a couple of weeks ago!!?
  5. Kelvin?! I say Kelvin.........!! Anything to say Kelv?? KELLLVYYNN!!! ;-) Davey Watt is available.................
  6. Not forgetting Holder and Ellis who scored half of the Pirates points between them!!
  7. Don't usually come onto the forum this late in the evening, but couldn't resist just to see which posters were saying 'it wasn't really a Poole win because of the team they put out'!! I wasn't surprised having read all the posts!! I refer to my opening post #4 above - no issues for me at the meeting going ahead - its the home promotion's prerogative whatever the rights and wrongs. Well done to the Poole Seven this evening - that's six riders plus Middlo (great idea that afternoon phonecall to Eddie ) Great performance in difficult and challenging circumstances.
  8. Jason's comments have made some of the national sports pages including his claim that Nicki didn't show all the pictures. He is not a happy man!!
  9. Can I wish the new supporters club every success. In broad terms it seems very like Poole's R.E.F. (Riders Equipment Fund) with many similarities in aims and benefits/discounts. If I may make one small suggestion - I think £10 for an annual membership is incredibly cheap!! The Poole R.E.F. has its own bank account with a membership fee of £5 per month payable by direct debit. One benefit of this is that money is still raised over the winter months as well as during the season. Poole riders have regularly benefitted from substantial monies over many recent seasons. Just a thought and no criticism intended. Well done to the fans,
  10. What would be interesting to find out is exactly what pre-meeting promotion the Glasgow management did?! I know they gave out flags and airhorns, but that surely wasn't all that attracted a huge crowd in midweek?! Was there an admission charge offer? Were kids free or is that usual for Glasgow? OR maybe it was just because it was a big local derby? Agree the atmosphere created was great especially for TV, but as others have said, the actual racing was pretty poor and aside from the extra difficulties caused by the rain, 3 or 4 of the riders said in interview that you can't normally pass at Glasgow anyway!!!!
  11. Should check your 'facts' again then!! Poole beat Swindon at home on June 1st. Incidentally, its not only Poole that have had a big break in fixtures - although admittedly one of the longest breaks. Whoever does the BSPA fixture schedule is responsible for the gaps - many of which were done to avoid clashes with other sport on TV. As I've said before there will always be greater issues with fixture clashes especially in the 'even' years when there are other major international sporting tournaments taking place.
  12. I think after last night's TV meeting, this thread could be closed?! Wednesday evenings are clearly the best speedway nights!!
  13. Holder, Wells, Summers, Ellis, r/rAndersen; Wilson-Dean, Starke.
  14. Not that I want to prolong this thread unnecessarily but just to correct one or two of your 'opinions/facts' :- Kyle Newman has not ridden for Poole for 6 seasons. His first season was 2011 at the age of 19 (when he also rode for Newcastle and Dudley). He next rode for Poole in 2014 and 2015 and this season as part of the fast track/EDR system. He has not ridden at reserve for all that time. He rode as a heat leader whilst carrying an injury this season. Agree with Steve Shovlar - Garrity is an accident waiting to happen that has happened much more often than Newman!! Just saying.
  15. Meeting finally called off at 11.30 am. Occasionally Poole harbour area does have its own micro-climate but today has been exactly as forecast - been raining consistently and more heavy rain still forecast for later today. It'll be a challenge for both clubs to agree a rearrangement date with full teams!!!!
  16. It was A1 last time we raced on it. It was put right the day after the BV loss!!
  17. BSPA EL averages....Newman 6.00 (as a EDR and a Heat Leader) Garrity 5.16 (as a 2nd string) Next............!!
  18. Horton only signed Woryna to spite Poole, so perfectly understandable really!!!
  19. He has had a go at Lakeside - since February - but doubtless deals with some promoters the way he is dealt with by them!! In-sane, innit??!!
  20. Bomber pencilled in for NKI on Wednesday!! Strengthens the Stars a little as Niels hates Wimborne Road while Bomber loves the place. ;-)
  21. At the moment we don't even have speedway most weeks!!!!
  22. Starke guesting for Kyle Newman again. Bjarne is replaced by Bradley Wilson-Dean at reserve and its r/r for Andersen. 2 more PL guests yet to be revealed............!! Of course I know the answer - just wanted to liven things up a bit. I had a dream that Davey Watt was re-signed as a temporary replacement for Buzz (Matt's rules ), he returned on Friday and scored a maximum including a heat 15 5-1 with Chris Holder that won the meeting for the Patchwork Pirates. (I didn't really) Then I woke up ( I didn't do that either)
  23. Whether its called 'amalgamation' or whatever (and leaving aside the NL for the moment) there will always be demand for a 'senior' league/division, with or without promotion/relegation!! If the likes of Coventry and Swindon didn't have their stadium doubts, they would undoubtedly still want to operate in the 'senior' league. Belle Vue have commitments to their council that they will bring 'top-class' speedway events to the NSS, which will not mean 'lower league' speedway. Poole, Wolves, and probably Kings Lynn and Lakeside would also prefer the 'senior' league. Goodness only knows about Leicester?! Add in the possibles of Glasgow, Sheffield, Ipswich and even Somerset - maybe with one or two others? - and you have a workable 'senior' league, which with some sort of squad system could give the Top riders few enough fixtures to attract them back but could also provide enough fixtures (for those riders not in other European leagues) when you add in a competitive Cup completion which would not include the 'top' riders and you could have a workable solution?!
  24. 2 promoters and 1 owner - no doubt attempting to show the SCB/ACU how much revenue they take at a home meeting to back up their claim of how out of proportion the fines are?! (as was stated in the appeal letter)
