  1. Kennett and Bridger at 2 & 4 could well put Poole's 2nd strings under a bit of pressure - especially if its r/r for Ellis, although Poole can use Buzz, Brady, Bjarne and whoever is guest for Kyle Newman if Poole do get a facility?!?!
  2. There are only a handful of Danes currently riding in the EL. Up until last week 4 of those were already riding for Weds/Thurs tracks (Poole/Kings Lynn). The Danish League does not run every week so whenever there is a Wednesday fixture clash, you either use a squad member or ride on the Thursday?!
  3. Just use the official EL table on BSPA website.
  4. There were no issues with the track against Swindon on 1st June - smooth as you like for both teams and no blue groove either/. The track was bladed and got sorted the day after the BV defeat!! Poole's riders have been generally scoring well in all their other fixtures, so I reckon a 10 point win even though Lakey have been a bit of a bogey team in the past!!
  5. Morris drops to 2nd string in latest averages from Monday 11th
  6. Sarjeant and Woryna at reserve in the latest averages with Bates in the 1-5.
  7. Sorry for some reason the link isn't working - probably something I've done wrong, so I've edited my earlier post, but have to go out now so............
  8. Poole Stadium update in Bournemouth Echo today - which sounds quite positive except that it only quotes Stadia UK!!!!! Revamp to focus on Speedway and greyhounds (as now) with no place for Poole Town FC!! (For the football club to meet FA requirements, the 'Glass (west) Stand' would need to go - which would not happen - and the centre green would need to be a lot larger - which also could not happen in the current foot print!! Early days yet though - and no plans to close it!!!
  9. Not sure who Poole will have at reserve to partner Bjarne?? Hope its Paul Starke again! Brady and Adam as 2nd strings - presume Brady at 2?! Holder;Kurtz;Buzz;Ellis;Andersen; Pedersen; plus A.N.Other.
  10. Are the TVs going to be showing the Wales match?? lol
  11. The fixed race night (or 2) for the EL has indeed been talked about for the last few years. Its so that those clubs that have to can sound out their landlords with sufficient notice and negotiation to change their night if necessary. The last AGM suggested it will come into force in 2017. If there is still to be a senior league with an attempt to attract the top riders again then I would put my money on a Weds/Thursday option.
  12. So pleased he is keeping up with informed opinion then!! I guess he's not a follower of yours?!
  13. All this talk of a merger or amalgamation is BS in my opinion!! There will not be one big league (+NL), there will always be a senior league/division as there is in every other country. Whether there can be controls - and/or incentives - in place on team building to make promotion/relegation effective - I'm not sure? My preference would be for 6-man teams from a squad of 8 or 9 riders plus a cup competition given full credibility by the powers that be to generate more fixtures.
  14. Its not just about Poole. Belle Vue have given guarantees to their paymasters that they will provide top class speedway including National and International stars and events. I can't see them accepting a lower level product. If Coventry and Swindon and Lakeside had no issues with their stadia then they would want senior speedway too if it can be afforded.
  15. Darcy isn't going to complain - he's extremely grateful to receive any financial support!! However I can tell you that there are those connected with the administration of the Foundation that are far from comfortable with the apparent 'final figures' from Torun, so presumably are not taking the club's statement at face value. 'returns for the players'?? Whats that meant to mean when the riders rode for free? I accept there will of course be some stadium costs but why would they be 'very high'?? Questions still need asking of one of the sport's supposedly richest clubs??
  16. I know his is not entirely the correct thread but is anyone else finding it especially difficult to believe that Torun only raised £4000 from 11,000 attendance at their Darcy Ward meeting?? There was also a paid-for live stream!! There was some additional merchandise money as well but only £4000 is an absolute joke!! especially bearing mind what has been raised from similar meetings in Sweden, Poole and Australia. I'm sure Darcy himself is extremely grateful for any monies raised but I hope the guys responsible for administering the DW Foundation together with the Polish Governing body, seek some clarification for this from the financial accounts of the meeting. There has already been instances elsewhere in Poland of illicit merchandise being sold without any proceeds going to the DW foundation at all!!
  17. And the new Sheffield promotion are quoted as having similar aspirations -especially now that Mr Machin is nothing to do with them!!
  18. I think there is something distinctly 'iffy' about what the Torun meeting is claiming to have raised. And its not the first time unfortunately that doubts have been raised about other Darcy Ward fundraising in Poland!! There are several Poole fans (and sponsors) beginning to ask some very probing questions about this - bearing in mind the equivalent Poole benefit meeting announced it raised about £50k from an attendance of 2,500 ish!!?
  19. The squad would be no more than 10 riders (assuming 7-man teams) or say 8 riders for a six-man format. If there is a limit on the number of heat leaders/2nd strings, then the asset system is irrelevant anyway if a club can only declare a squad of 8 or 10. The extra meetings (if anyone actually bothered to read the articles) would come from 2 or 3 more teams in the top league - MF named Glasgow plus a couple of others (unnamed) with similar aspirations - plus a new Cup competition which would have the full backing of the BSPA, unlike previously, and a possible sponsor!! Clearly there would have to be some financial stability for those clubs in the senior league - also mentioned in the article - but lets not get ahead of ourselves as MF is yet to seek the views of Poole supporters to get their overview and preferences, which may be entirely different to any of those expressed on this thread/forum, including mine!!
  20. Just to be clear, despite the knowledge way back in January that riders would be missing, if Lakeside had stuck with Bjarne, would he still have been missing on Friday?? If Poole's meeting on Wednesday hadn't been rained off, he would have been in the Poole side not Denmark! Poole had a similar problem to Lakeside with Bjarne's fixture clashes but have worked with him to reduce the clashes down to 3 fixtures - not sure if Friday's was one of them as I believe they were concentrating on home meetings?! As for Buzckowski - he didn't 'rather decide he would ride in a re-arranged Polish fixture'!! It was the Polish Championship and he would have been banned if he hadn't taken his place.
  21. Do the likes of Mercedes and Ferrari actually sell or expect to sell more cars as a result of their Formula 1 involvement?
