  1. Tell me about the change, tell me about the change. I'm intrigued!
  2. I don't think anyone has ever called rmc 'normal'?! But the rest of that sentence I agree with! Its true the top riders do attract bigger crowds - as was witnessed last evening - and Messrs Pearson and Tatum said so - so it has to be true. (The top riders also have a much better chance of attracting bigger brand sponsorship.)
  3. A bit late coming onto the forum this morning due to unforeseen circumstances!! Just been catching up with all the many (expected) posts........!! Well done the the Robins. The much better team on the night. Although I'll take Poole over 2 legs if we get the chance in the P/O's. (Apparantly Pearson's love child did quite well at Wolves last night too - in case anyone watching on Sky didn't know?!) As one or two have said on the Poole forum, you won't win meetings without at least one - ideally 2 - of your heat leaders reaching double figures!! For those criticising the track - all tracks are required to be slick - or at least a lot slicker than the 'old days' - because the machinery now is far better suited to it. As for those calling for changes to the Poole side, I'd like to know how you can bring in a couple of 8 + point riders with Poole's team total as it is now. OK there may be a 5 or 6 point rider available (Milik or THJ) but really?! Kurtz ain't going anywhere - this is a 'learning season' for him. He and Jack Holder will be the future core of the team. Bjarne (if he gets back into the 1-5) possibly - as Matt has told him he's too slow, as evidenced last night again. Buzz has clearly got some issues with set-ups both here and abroad, coming out on Newman's bike for his 2nd ride!! But there isn't much of a window left before the clamp down on any replacements comes in prior to the play-offs. I've said it before on this forum and elsewhere - Belle Vue were my pick at the beginning of the season and I see nothing to change that prediction at the moment --- regrettably!!!
  4. This meeting is being promoted by Poole as a 'Celebration of Speedway' which will become an annual event. Admission has been reduced to £10 for 1 Adult and 1 child (under 16). Gates open half hour earlier at 6pm. Air horns or Vuvuzelas are being given free to the first 200 kids. There will also be a live Band. Local dignatories are being invited - not least Poole Councillors - who may not have ever witnessed speedway before. This is all part of the 'campaign' to show how important the stadium is in its current location. As for the teams, no news yet but for Leicester Ludvig Lindgren hurt his back yesterday for Newcastle so may be a doubt?! It'll be nice to have a really big crowd and atmosphere rather than just the usual large attendance and atmosphere - Hopefully it'll get everyone in the mood for the play-offs.
  5. If you want to see into the pits you might have to buy one of the new houses!!!!!! ;-) :-)
  6. Just to be clear Brady Kurtz will remain as a second string for a further 2 weeks from today as per the latest averages as will Bjarne P remain a reserve for the same period - possibly longer depending on all the scores between now and then!!
  7. So nice to see Messrs Fricke and Woryna fit to race again!!!!!!
  8. Why reduce the price when you are pretty much guaranteed a decent crowd - TV or no TV!? Reduce it to £10 for one adult and one Under-16, when the opponents are weak like Poole are doing Wednesday!! (That may well come back to haunt me?! Hope not as all Poole Councillors are due to attend Wednesday.)
  9. On the basis that the cut-off is still 16th Sept (there was a rumour it might be extended to 19th!!), the play-off dates are:- 21st and 26th September - Semi-finals 3rd and 5th October - Final
  10. Lakeside on the road have been generally woeful - with the odd exception!! Wolves should win this at a canter. 55-37
  11. A similar view to this has been expressed on a club forum Bryn. However how do you explain all the officials wearing FIM-branded shirts etc?? The club forum administrator stated it is the BSPA/SCB who don't recognise the event (in order to protect the EL programme) - hence the 'No facility' ruling! I'm just not quite sure how 3 or 4 Friday/Saturday fixtures are 'protected', by losing a rider and only covering with a 'lower than 6 pt PL rider at best?? I'm fairly sure - and I've said it before- that I read some time ago in the Speedy Star that BSPA/SCB had 'stepped back' from their non-recognition as certain British riders were keen to be included (assuming they would be invited) in both the SEC and the Pairs?!
  12. That's the last time for 3 of the young Poles in the U.21s, The Aussie boys are much younger and will still all(?) be eligible for next year I think.
  13. So no change there since about May time then?!!
  14. It was hacking down with heavy rain at the Leicester footie on TV - so the right decision to call it off methinks. What makes you think I wasn't being serious Lisa??
  15. So the Polish media have a pop at BSI?! I'm surprised 'One Sport' haven't thrown in their sixpennyworth!!!
  16. So its quite ok for Swindon's Steve0 to post the comment first - but not ok for Starman2006 to 'like' it?!
  17. So Josh G, Howarth and Nielsen to take the r/r rides??
  18. An English Bank Holiday Monday?! - Its bound to p!$$ down surely!!!? Still, anything to help these clubs fit in their outstanding home fixtures I suppose! ;-) Always thinking of his fellow promoters and the general good of British speedway is MF!! :-) :-) ;-)
  19. Kacper is coming over for the Blue Riband on October 14th. I'm sure I recall reading somewhere that Middlo told him that there is likely to be a team place in 2017 - subject to what rule changes may come in?!
  20. I must remember, when in doubt or losing an argument, drop a rider's name into the post!!
  21. Very pleased to see an official Speedway GB good wish!!
  22. Antonio has announced that the Prosecutor in Sweden has dropped all charges against him!! Great news Antonio. Onwards and upwards. (Please don't go out for a few beers to celebrate!!)
  23. The very best of good wishes to Charlie. She has put her body through many hours of gruelling effort in her charity work - including the 3000 mile cycle ride to Rio. Hoping for a full and speedy recovery to a member of the speedway family.
