All this talk about Poole having the use of the Rick Frost assets, we don't even know if Readypower are sponsoring next year yet??!
-
Milik confirmed as a 2017 target by Matt Ford today, although continental commitments may not make it possible. 5.67 from KL last season makes it a decent average.
-
There are ointments for that!!
-
Good to read that over 50 random drug/alcohol tests have been carried out in the last month or so - with not a single positive result!! SCB Co-ordinator Neil Vatcher is keen for the regular testing to continue throughout the seasons.

It surely depends on which set of accounts you are shown?! ;-) Not forgetting what type/size of car the promoter drives!

What Would You Like From The Agm
SteveLyric2 replied to kingbee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Buster's comments at the fans forum in Torun last weekend (as reported in the Speedway Star) suggest 'a further step backwards before moving forward' as part of (another) new 5-year plan!! He admitted there had to be many changes but 'rather like Rome, everything couldn't be built in a day'! With the 5 year plan, the 'trick' - and not a simple one - is to persuade a consensus of fellow promoters on board. 'The last General Council meeting, apparantly, was not aparticularly pleasant affair and harmony was not a word that anyone present would likely use to describe it'! 'Some want to see Elite League racing on two set nights, Monday and Wednesday, others especially those not in total control of their stadiums, say that isn't practical.' I'd love to be a fly on the wall in Broxbourne. -
Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
SteveLyric2 replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Fair play to Peter Adams in his summing up. Belle Vue and Poole were the 2 best teams over the season, but Wolves were the best in October. Job Done. -
Maybe he hasn't been told yet?! ;-)

So with the AGM in Broxbourne, Herts in early November, Matt Ford expects a 'difficult' AGM with only himself and one or two other promoters keen on a stronger Elite League!! If speedway is to go further down the 'dumbing down' route towards a PL type level, then I hope that admission charges reflect the new standard. www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/Sport/Speedway/ -
Depends if there are any EL teams (or whatever the top British league will be called) that insist on riding Saturdays?! If there aren't any then I reckon there could be a couple of Brits invited to take part. Yes they have to be invited!!!! And I could see a round at either BV or Kings Lynn in future years.

Maybe - but how many BT Sport subscribers are there compared to Sky Sports? BT's Champions League viewing figures are nowhere close to what Sky's were previously. Mainstream TV is the answer - maybe channel 4 or 5 - but with a 'highlights' package rather than live meetings every week. If the sport gets on mainstream TV - it may even attract some major sponsors?!

So the main grandstand is sold out for Wednesday. I wonder if all the seats will be taken after last night's disappointment?! Well done to the Wolves, proving that the Aces and the Pirates both have similar problems at Monmore!! It looks like my 'start of season' bet on BV will come to nothing. Shame it wasn't one of those 'cash-out now' deals!! -
Maybe one heat leader and 2 second strings!!?

Nice try. When he was interviewed at the semi final, Hans said his target to ride again in the UK was the Blue Riband. -

Polish Ekstraliga Is Flexing Its Muscles

I think the SGP series should switch to Sundays, giving much more flexibility for all the leagues!! ;-) -
Where do these rumours start??

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?
SteveLyric2 replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think the 'powers that be' and fans for that matter, need to decide what 'younger audiences' they want/need to attract?! A teenager wants many different things than a 5-8 year old for example. 18-25 year olds have much more disposable income than ever before and probably wouldn't think of spending any of it on a 'family sport or activity'!! Speedway has long been promoted as a family sport and over all this period attendances have continued to fall - for combinations of several reasons, not all applicable in every area of the UK. Its one thing to target young teenagers who want to become riders - and well done to all the academies and to the work Neil Vatcher and others are doing - BUT that does not address the attendance problem. Recognise that the sport is fast, dangerous, extreme at times and full of rivalries - both individual and club-wise - and use all methods of media (both pre and post meeting) to build on those aspects. Couple that with a period of reduced admission prices and special offers - not just for one meeting but for maybe a whole month or two - and not expect the officials/referees to dish out fines for the slightest misdemeanour on track. Get the riders on board - turn a blind eye to the occasional 'finger' to opposing fans, make sure all riders do a winners' lap and really crank up the crowd. Lets get real people. Know your audience or who you want your audience to be and go for it. -
The Pzms New Two Team Rule.
SteveLyric2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely any rider (eg Aussies etc) who base themselves in UK will need to have a job in the UK to meet their work permit/visa conditions?! So will that mean riders who maybe have families based here, changing their base to either Poland or Sweden or will it mean riders choosing British speedway and one other?? -

What are the other sports where the 'Directors' of all the clubs share all the information from their annual meeting with the fans?! Just wondering........
