  1. Same as my Kelly Brook calendar - and I'm not sharing that!! (waits for someone else to put up the pics!!)
  2. Apparantly the final signing (BK) is to be announced tomorrow Wednesday according to someone visiting the Poole Merch shop in the Town Centre today. It was due to be today but local darts champ Scott Mitchell took the back page.
  3. I didn't think I needed to emphasise that bit!!
  4. Who on earth - apart from a relatively small fan base - knows what SGB is?? And even with that small fanbase - why is it even relevant that they should know what it means? Its SPEEDWAY with specialist MOTORCYCLES that needs to be communicated!! I'm no designer but its not rocket science is it?! The BSPA are 'control freaks' who despite quoting transparency and fan involvement, simply don't want to go with something that wasn't 'their initial idea'!! Its like going into a lap dancing club and being told you only have 3 dancers to choose from - apparently!! :-)
  5. Hopefully it'll be Tuesday as (the unofficial) Piratecast have their Facebook Live programme from 1930hrs tomorrow!! (PS> Nice mention in the SS last week too!!)
  6. I gather Tenerife is nice at this time of year!! :-)
  7. At the moment ie during the whole of December, surely everything is at a bit of an impasse as neither Coventry Racing Club nor Coventry Speedway have any rights over stadium access until January 1st - assuming leases are signed etc. Presumably Brandon Estates will not allow Sandhu's people in to 'restore the fixtures and fittings' until they are satisfied that things weren't done with any malice?! Mick Horton is presumably also in 'no mans land' until Jan 1st and is right not to give any statement which may be taken by some to enflame the situation. I hope its a Happy New Year for Speedway fans.
  8. No question of Holder's quality - his average alone demonstrates that. But your comments about KK and Hans being 'moody', seem to indicate that Holder isn't and doesn't have any 'off' days?! I hope you and he and Poole have a great season.
  9. Aren't they sealed engines so should not need any tuning/servicing?!
  10. I think its fair to say that if the averages hadn't been 'factored' (I think thats the right word?!), Chris would have been included in Poole's 1-7 as usual and not looked anywhere else.
  11. As SS has said Chris Holder remains a firm favourite with the majority of Poole fans and will be welcomed back at some point - even when KL visit in 2017 - but he does have the propensity to disappoint some people with some of his 'ill-judged' comments on occasions. This may not come across to many fans but is perhaps more obvious to those closer to him eg sponsors, officials etc. Lets hope that Buster is able to provide a track that is correctly prepared for him as well as the other 6 riders.
  12. Well done Davey Watt at winning the Queensland championships yesterday. Looks like he has sorted his 'demons' and is on the way back to some decent form. I'll be following his Aussie Championships with interest.
  13. To be honest its mainly only affecting the top Danes. NKI and Kildemand being the 2 most high profile riders.
  14. They'll both be fine at Leicester/Belle Vue.
  15. There were some personal issues with Chris - most of them off track - which affected him especially in the first half of the season. Davey Watt also had personal off track issues to deal with. They only become Pirate issues if/when they start affecting performances as Davey found out to his cost. MF certainly had words with Chris mid-season. Whether they can be classified as a 'falling out' or not is pure conjecture. I prefer to go with Chris' father, Mick Holder, who has confirmed there is no issue between MF and Chris other than speedway's numbers game which has disappointedly meant that Chris didn't fit into Poole' preferred 1-7. I'm as pleased as Chris that he has a place in UK speedway and delighted that he is professional enough to say the right things to his new fanbase. Whether his off-track situation affects his on-track performance we shall have to wait and see. I hope not.
  16. Chris'll be back at Poole full time in 2018 - no worries!! ;-)
  17. I have to smile at all the 'Matt Ford broke my story' boo hoo theorists!! If anyone thinks that every decent newspaper sports journo doesn't have direct contact with all their local speedway riders - they need to think again!! lol Maybe today was chosen to 'break the news' as there's another 'story' scheduled for tomorrow? Incidentally having got past the Kyle Newman and Chris Holder articles in the Star this week, there's an interesting 'Talking Point' in the Peter Oakes section about the media benefits of 'drip-feeding' speedway news rather than releasing everything in one go!!
  18. This thread has had the effect of restoring my faith in the Speedway community!! Well done BSPA.
  19. I hope Gavan reads this week's Speedy Star - a 2 page article on Kyle's progress plus a nice colour front cover photo that he can put on his bedroom wall too. Many happy hours ahead for Gavan!!
  20. Not sure it'll be Klindt that'll be the concern?!
  21. The Polish ruling was initially rumoured/reported/translated to be Extraleague plus one other league!! This was later changed to Extraleague plus 2 other leagues (one of which must be the rider's 'domestic' league - UK in the case of Aussie riders)! This was always going to have a greater effect on those Danes that had secured a Polish Extraleague place.
  22. Matt Ford said at last week's quiz night interview that Shanes would be under no pressure - just to go out and enjoy his racing. James also repeated that understanding in his interview. NB. Kyle won't be starting at reserve!!
