  1. Cookie might be the new promoter?! No not that Cookie!! :-) ;-)
  2. The principle is the same Baz. I wasn't arguing abilities. What I think is a bit silly is lots of fans thinking the 50 point limit will remain after the first set of official new averages. Bearing in mind these BSPA changes have been made primarily to save money (again) and to bring the leagues closer together in abilities, then anyone believing that teams will strengthen by bringing in some top averaged foreign riders is in cloud cuckoo land imo. Yes I'm sure there will be team changes but any single rider change (through injury or whatever) will be done on a like for like average as at present. If teams look to make multiple changes all at once then the new team building average will come into play. What nobody knows at the moment (including the BSPA probably) is what that new team average will be. If the BSPA are consistent than the Prem limit will drop to the Championship level of 40 points. Alternatively they could look at all the Championship averages after the first set of new figures and set the Premiership figure equivalent to the highest Championship team figure, or similar. eg if the best Champ team has increased its team average from 40 up to say 43, then 43 becomes the new reduced Prem average down from 50?! The sooner BSPA clarify that the better for everyone so that more argument and debate may ensue!!!
  3. You might well get Holder but not with NKI - instead of!!!
  4. Swindon have stuck with their contracted rider exactly as Poole have done - with Hans (unofficially)!!
  5. Specialist subject - anything remotely to do with Poole!! Oops sorry that's Mastermind!! Can't possibly understand how I got those confused?!
  6. Harris is still up for debate. Why would Kennett a Rye asset and riding for them this season be allowed to join another club? Similarly Lambert at Kings Lynn, with likely no NKI, why would Buster allow him to go?! (Aside from the argument that riders will ride where they want!!)
  7. I really do despair at some of the mass debaters!!!
  8. Darcy will be over in Poole later in the year when it warms up to keep a watchful eye on Brady and Jack. He had already made it known that he would probably not be over for the Foundation meeting - which is to raise money for other injured sports people, not Darcy himself - because of the likelihood the british weather would be too cold for him.
  9. What? well it didn't work for Kings Lynn or Poole last season!! A good winning team needs every rider to contribute to the team performance.
  10. Name the six and which clubs they are doubling with!!!
  11. All of the last dozen or so posts are totally irrelevant to the Somerset thread!!!
  12. A British team competing in the Polish league???? If you want to make a small fortune out of speedway - you have to start with a large one!!!
  13. I imagine the decision was made because Buster is BSPA Chairman!!!!! No point in being 'top man' if you can't influence some decisions to your advantage!! ;-) ;-)
  14. Missed by many within the Holder announcement today - Poole's first team meetings will be in the 'Premiership'(?)Shield against Wolves. At Wolves on Monday 27th March and at home two days later on 29th!!
  15. Maybe we can hope for a bit more 'meat on the bones' in this week's Speedway Star?! Although I'm fairly sure after previous AGMs the promoters have had a 2-3 week window to fully consider all the proposed new rules and consider any major issues - ie look at a number of scenarios that they couldn't do in depth at the 2-day AGM and reconsider those proposals before they are rubberstamped by the MC and SCB?!
  16. 'negotiations with prospective new promoters are currently taking place!' - probably.
  17. So whether it remains the same or is reduced to say 43, after riders have attained 'real' averages, then any replacement rider - especially any new or previous foreign rider - would come in on their previous actual average - assessed or 'real' rather than inflated?!
  18. 'Kyle to Swindon' refuted by Piratecast administrators and others!!
  19. Just to be clear Matt Ford has said its 'unlikely' that Adam Ellis can be fitted in to Poole's 1-7 (despite him arguing that Adam's average should be calculated differently at the AGM due to him not riding PL. One EL club argued vociferously against it - I wonder who that was??). Lets just wait and see. You never know whoever the new main team sponsor is may well be an Ellis fan!!!?? Incidentally, the reason Gomolski appears in some suggested Poole line-ups is because he was 'promised' a 2017 team place at the end of the 2015 season when he effectively won the play-off final!!
  20. Has there been anything official about what the Prem team building limit will be after the first set of rider averages (May 1st??)
  21. The Polish 'rule' for Extraliga riders is a max of 3 leagues - Poland plus a rider's domestic league plus one other - with Polish fixtures including rearranged meetings always taking priority!! For Aussie riders based for the season in UK then the UK leagues would be their 'domestic' league.
