Most of the 'Southern-based' double uppers will have to be travelling North for their double up rides!!
-
No worries, they're being thawed out by 'Me Julie'!!
-
If Wolves do get two of the stronger reserves, it won't be that pairing!! Also if Poole were to use Holder with the rest of the riders that are likely to be confirmed, then that would only leave around 4.3 ish for the 2nd reserve. No sense in that when there is likely to be another 1.50 available at least.
-
.....and another local Dorset lad too!! The only issue for me are the possible weekend fixture clashes with World Longtrack in 2017?! Any replacement guest will have to be a 2 pointer unless the away fixtures can be planned accordingly.
-
Added to the fact that Holder senior - dad Mick -confirmed on facebook that there was no falling out and it was 'just the business of speedway'!! All parties continue to have the utmost mutual respect!!
-
Well you can forget at least 1 of those!!!
-
Any rumoured 'fall-out' between the two was sorted mid season. Assuming Chris isn't riding elsewhere on a Wednesday then he'll be in the Poole pits as usual!! (Just not in kevlars,)
-
Kings Lynn to make their first rider announcement later this week!!
-
???
-
The BSPA PL list has him on 4.60 leaving just over 3 for the final reserve.
-
The quiz night is weds 7th December. Its not usual for Poole to use these REF quiz nights to make any announcements unless its notified in advance that Matt or Middlo will be in attendance. Kyle usually supports them all though!
-
Sqora's comments at the end of season meetings suggested he would prefer PL/Championship level - but that was before the AGM!!
-
Good enough for England and Liverpool footballers by all accounts?! As for Swindon I'm sure Rosco could give you or anyone a guided tour of Swindon's dens of eniquity!!!
-
One thing against Somerset for Holder might be the Friday night racing on GP weekends?! Similar with Belle Vue although he would be a lot closer to a major airport there!!
-
Not alone WB as I had him on 4.04 and almost replied to Col's post as such!! must have come from a penultimate PL average. I'm sure CVS could put in a reassessment request which the MC would consider favourably?! Anyway, 2nd signing announcement for you tomorrow (Monday).
-
Surely 8.22 is Bjerre's final 2016 Peterborough average?!

Helping the Coventry cash flow possibly!!? -
Looking forward to Good Friday already!! :-)

So more comparisons with the 'well run' Swedish and Polish leagues?! Whilst they tend to have rules that get them to announce their teams earlier, they still have to obtain a licence to operate in the coming season, based on their financial outcome of the immediate past season and their financial projections for the next season based on the costs of who they have signed. I've absolutely no objection to teams being announced by Christmas - as a 'treat' for the fans, or however the clubs want to spin it?! This time 2 years ago the AGM was only just taking place!! Anyway back to the thread - a Good Friday home and away fixture for Pirates v Rebels looks on the cards according to 'Media Matt' today. Poole at 1100 and Somerset at 1930 hrs.

The trouble is for many lardy cake has been replaced by 'mardy cake'!! -
Not that it makes a huge difference but is it not 7.64 left for the last 2? EK 9.27 CH 9.21 SN 9.23 DW 7.56 SR 7.09

Happy Birthday Poole Paul Starke.
-
Has the niggling gone away yet?? BTW we're only 2 weeks on from the AGM and people want full teams to be announced already - with not a lot else to announce over the winter months - except perhaps the occasional sponsorship deal!! Patience people - patience.

I've said this before but Speedway's promoters and administrators really need to decide what they want speedway to be. Once that is clear and agreed they can then identify their target audience(s). Is speedway really still a 'family-friendly' sport?! If so its too highly priced for families and in any case what do families actually attend together nowadays?? Or is speedway a 'dangerous, thrills-and-spills' spectacle with 'gladiatorial' superstars that might appeal to today's 'thrillseekers', eg the 16 -30 age group many of whom wouldn't be seen dead going out with the rest of their 'family' to anything!?! Once that has been decided, draw up a specialised national target marketing campaign which can be 'tweaked' to appeal to potential local audiences.
