  1. Excellent exciting racers. Well done Brum.
  2. Maybe that's why Poole wanted him to start in his 2nd string position from 2023.
  3. Wessex Marine continue as Main Team Sponsors of the Pirates for a 2nd season
  4. At the conclusion of the final round, Poole's Ben Cook was awarded the 'Most Improved Rider of the Year' trophy, based on his results from both his Overseas and his domestic meetings.
  5. Middlo and Havvy continuing as joint team Managers. Havvy will have one more meeting under his responsibility (Worky), whilst Middlo will have one less (Brum)!
  6. Notwithstanding the lower points limit, clubs still have the same stadium and meeting costs, most of which have increased in price, so its understandable that admission prices will increase! Fans will make their own decisions about 'what represents a quality product'! If its felt that the increase is too much then that will be reflected in attendance levels - a factor that I'm sure most Promoters take into account when preparing their revenue/expenditure budgets for each season.
  7. Well done to Ben Cook who was voted 'The most improved rider of the year' award at the Aussie Championship Series!! Awarded by a panel of expert judges - both domestic and overseas
  8. Ah yes the 64 point fixture with Matt Ford as Team Manager!!
  9. The Star is now delivered in a white paper envelope. Mine is delivered by Royal Mail to my block of apartments, and almost always arrives on Thursdays except in BH weeks when it arrives on a Friday. Can't complain at all.
  10. Such a shame that some don't seem to know the difference or choose to attack the poster rather than the post!
  11. This will include some exhibition Young Lions Youth races as advised by Neil Vatcher.
  12. Aah so it IS ok to post on other teams' threads then?!
  13. He said at the time that Championship costs were around 30% cheaper than Premiership. Coupled with fans (and some key sponsors)stating they wanted to go back to the traditional regular Wednesday speedway, it was and still is a no-brainer.
  14. MF stated at the SOS enquiry that Coventry (with him as Promoter) would start in the Championship with a view to going Premiership later if crowds responded. As far as Poole going Mon/Thurs, it didnt work that well in the 2018 or 2019 top league despite Poole always winning or challenging for the top spot!
  15. Kyle Newman's testimonial meeting now brought forward to Weds 13th March due to a clash with Premiership Launch media day on 20th! Not yet updated on official fixture lists, but advised on FB.
  16. Kyle has announced a change of date for his Testimonial at Wimborne Road, Poole. Although still in various fixture lists as Weds 20th March, he advises that due to a clash with a Premiership press call that day, it is now one week earlier on WEDS 13TH MARCH 2024. More details to follow.
  17. How is 'a great signing' being negative. The kid is a massive talent but has been susceptible to a number of crashes. Poole were never going to sign him after it became clear about his 5pt average. I look forward to seeing him race at Poole. As for our 'star 4 pointer' I'm not sure anyone has called him that? He is an unknown and a surprise signing to most fans even though his recent Danish 2nd division scores suggest he is capable of at least achieving his average - thats all he's expected to do.
  18. Not disputing that. It is a great signing that Darcy set up when they were over here in August. Once he's dialled in to the Worky track he should do a great job as long as he doesn't have too many crashes early on. Only time will tell how he does on the away tracks.
  19. As a Darcy Ward protege on his home Darcy Ward North Brisbane track, he was expected to do OK. He is also the wildcard in the first round of the Aussie Championships so will be interesting to see how he does then.
  20. From the BSPA AGM statement: 'All Premiership and Championship clubs have signed up to the new three-tier structure following discussions at this week’s AGM. This will involve each club either competing in the National Development League; or staging events in a new National Individual series; or taking part in a Youth programme to be run in second halves following senior meetings, and it is now compulsory for each club to take one of those options'. Merry Christmas.
  21. It doesn't have to be pre or post meeting nor to run an NDL team. Poole can choose to host one or more rounds of the new 'GP-style' individual championship for NDL level riders which Neil Vatcher will be announcing!
