I do so admire your self control!!! Of course one could also say that Gordon Pairman will also be 'keeping a watchful eye on things' from his position on the Speedway Control Bureau?!
-
Positive news from the latest SGB tweets.!!
-
Its Poole at 1100 am and Somerset in the evening if you look at the actual Poole fixture list rather than the news release!!
-
That was a week ago when it was confirmed BV would run!!! Hardly anything new.

The stox contract ran out on 30th November. Horton's new lease was scheduled to commence on 1st (or 3rd) January but had not been signed - possibly because Horton was out of the country. Sandhu ripped out all 'his' fixtures and fittings on 30th November and started to blame Horton by 'saying' that they had a deal with Horton. Nobody has produced any evidence other than hearsay (by Sandhu's lapdog in the media) that that was the case?! Horton returns from USA having been alerted to the damage caused by the stox people and quite rightly involves Brandon Estates and equally rightly has not signed a new lease presumably until new terms are sorted and the reinstatement of the fittings has been categorically agreed in writing or the equivalent cash/penalty has been paid. If Sandhu has 'moved on' then I guess that both Brandon Estates and the speedway will still be waiting for the police investigation to be resolved, whilst at the same time looking for alternative backers to allow speedway to resume - hardly something that can be resolved with the click of fingers, however frustrating it may be for the fans.
-
If you took over a venue which had been 'vandalised' to such a degree by the outgoing owners - enough to call in the police to investigate - would you be keen to offer a new lease arrangement to the same people? - especially if the previous owners were also reluctant to sign a sub-lease with a new head-lease owner?
-
People might get even more confused with your use of 'cup' this coming season as there will of course be a proper one to contest!!
-
Fixtures should be available to the public from Tuesday onwards. I can confirm that the home 'B' fixture v Somerset is on Weds 26th July. (unless its selected and changed by Sky?!) ;-)
-
Buster also said they could start their season a bit later if need be or could ride their first few fixtures elsewhere!! ps. The Colin Pratt video referred to above is now on the Swindon website as well as facebook. (I hope they don't use it/him to attract more fans!!)
-
4 mini videos to watch now on facebook although there didn't seem to be enough 'deep and searching' questions!!
-
Which may well be at Poole, so don't expect him to perform that well will you?!
-
So clearly an attempt to resolve their technical issues by recording a 7min 54 sec video which is now on facebook. However it stops in mid-question so maybe there will be several 7minute clips to follow?! Buster's had an email from Coventry but cannot reveal its contents before discussing with other members of the MC and others 'in speedway'!!
-
Why would any promoter least of all Horton sign a lease for a facilty that has none of the basics for running speedway, without some sort of 'guarantee' that the facilities (or cash equivalent) are made available.
-
Well its all gone so well so far!! 23 seconds of Nigel Pearson's voice (which can be enough for some people) and then nothing!!! So the top man in our sport's association plus a full time media specialist and we still can't get it right. Why didn't they use someone who's done it successfully before - like the Glasgow boys or the Piratecast team!!??
-
That's exactly what Dave Darcy has stated in both last week's and this week's Speedway Star!! Not long to wait now with tomorrow being the deadline for Coventry!!
-
When Lemo was on the phone to Poole fans at their Game Show quiz night last week (It was the 'Phone a friend' round), he sounded pretty confident - without being able to say too much at the time!! ;-)
-
All change at the top as you suggest - but retaining some of the current/old management team - or so I'm told.
-
I wonder how close the above post might be??!!
-
All the clubs in the top 2 leagues have had their draft fixtures for a few weeks now - in order to check rider availability/clashes etc and suggest fixture changes. End Jan was always stated as when the fixtures would be made public - obviously the Coventry situation has complicated it even though BV and Leicester fixtures were included in the draft.
-
Great news for BV fans and speedway fans generally. Never in doubt imo. Just wait and see who's in charge!? :-)
-
I meant after the series was complete!! You know that's when the final positions are completed. BTW I haven't said anything about expecting Tungate to finish above, below or equal to Kurtz - merely that he's a Premiership Number 1.
-
Very surprised Gavan hasn't been on here going on about how Tungate 'struggled' in the Aussie Champs, finishing 8th out of 16!! Shocking performance for a Premiership Number 1 who also once rode for Poole - but not a word from Gav!!? How very strange he is. ;-)
-
Bisson! :-) Enjoyed several visits to Rye House back in the mid/late 80's. Gary Allan, Boycie, Langdons, Schoie, Kevin Smart, Ali Stevens - good times.
-
As I stated previously, my objection to the way you described Brady's performances was the use of the word 'struggling'! Below par maybe - not as good as he would have expected maybe - but in a 4-round series I don't consider any rider that reached 2 B finals (2nd and 3rd inc an engine failure) and won 1 A final to be 'struggling', anymore than finishing 7th out of 16 is 'struggling'!! Thank you for your final praise of Brady - albeit with the usual 'sting in the tail' comment. Incidentally in catching up on all the exchanges on here since I was last on yesterday morning, I reckon your family must be regretting all the family time they are missing out on through you being on here so much!!
