No more irrelevant than 42 points! I guess they want to take account of the revised race format. They could simply take an average of all 8 teams actual averages at the first set of rider averages for May.
-
I would think around 75% of posts on this forum are from people who 'weren't actually there'!!
-
Colin Pratt stated in last week's Speedway Star that the revised team limit had not yet been set!! One member of the BSPA has been tasked with coming up with a revised figure - based on teams' performances through to end April.
-
Scott Nicholls will continue with his SGP studio comments with Natalie Quirk. Nigel and Kelvin will continue with their SGP and SGB commentary. Hopefully Natalie and Suzi will alternate in the pits!! Just remember people, BT Sports have Keith Heuwen in their moto team as well!!!!

I think it depends on how good or how much potential a club reckons a new Aussie rider is/has?! If he is reckoned to be able to take the top British league by storm then he is more likely to attract a big deal/contract, including having the flight over, van, workshop, etc paid for by the British club. Obviously not all Aussies are going to be the 'dogs' - some will be the journeymen of the British leagues and there is nothing wrong with that as they mostly do their best to entertain.

Swindon V Belle Vue. 06/04/17.

I wonder which side will have the support of CFS tonight - with sponsorship interests in both teams?? ;-) -
Yes well done the Aces - you deserved the win, but Poole are not yet out of it with likely r/r for Kerr at the NSS tomorrow. Kurtz looked and was really quick and a lot more 'gutsy' than last year - good improvement. Shanes worth more than what he scored. Heat winners were on average 1 full second faster than last week against Wolves!! KK managing to score more than Chris Holder at KL yet still not happy with his engine or set-up. New engine for next time!! Its not over til its over!! :-)

2017 Marketing "push" By Bspa
SteveLyric2 replied to waytogo28's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'm fairly certain that the facilities at the Ricoh are far better than any British speedway venue - including the NSS. So if the 'product' includes the venue facility as well as the VFM of the racing then I would agree. -
why???
-
Well it was BV that turned Poole over last May on a terrible track and that was the impetus that got the track well and truly sorted for the rest of last season - nice and smooth with hardly any bumps or holes! Track preparation on a meeting to meeting basis is a separate issue and can be very weather-dependant during the lead up to the day as well as on race day itself. I actually think that BV will win - just - on aggregate over the 2 legs. (Could be a battle of the rolling starts and who gets away with it most?!) :-)
-
Kyle Newman to receive a donation from the Poole Riders Equipment Fund before the BV meeting on Wednesday. The donation will then be enhanced by Hans and Nicolai (and maybe the rest of the team?!) each donating one point from their night's earnings to the donation. Great gesture and great team spirit already!!

Wimbledon Stadium: Some Important News
SteveLyric2 replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Definitely the Mail on Sunday - and on a prominent right hand news page too!! -
Dates and meetings should be available soon. The proposed list has been sent to the clubs and there will need to be a few fixture date changes to be sorted out before the schedule is made public.

Save Speedway From "death By Eu"
SteveLyric2 replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thought this had all been sorted for speedway!!? -
Amongst the several comments made by Swindon's Colin Pratt in this week's Star was the statement that the new (revised) team building limit after the first set of new averages has yet to be decided!! Apparantly someone within the BSPA hierarchy has been appointed to set the new figure but nothing has been announced or advised to the clubs as yet!!

£2.50 from next week Starry - according to the guys on the gate!!! Shame the money doesn't go to Speedway, who have no control over the car park as you know?!
-
Of course they do. The site is theirs to manage as they see fit. I believe there is also a car boot on Sundays. There is also a Day Nursery attached to the Champs Bar. Don't know how much the Council charge them for the lease?
-
Good news from Kyle thank goodness - only 4-6 weeks out with minor muscle tears around the fractured shoulder blade. No op required - just a fitness and physio plan.
-
Stadia UK have the lease to manage the whole site. They take all the revenue from parking, bars and the restaurant. The car park is used substantially during the day time by lots of different office and hospital staff and usually clears out from 5pm onwards to allow the speedway parking to commence on meeting days.

Speedway On Tv And The Internet In 2024
SteveLyric2 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
According to Colin Pratt in the Speedway Star this week the whole BT Sport TV schedule has been issued to clubs, although not seen anything publicly as yet other than the British Championship in June. It would appear that BT want quite a few meetings in school holidays - presumably to get big(ger) crowds.
