  1. The police - Dorset Police in this instance - are following national guidelines to increase security at all sports and entertainment venues and large outside events eg festivals. The Bournemouth International Centre issued the similar warning that extra security checks would be in place for Concerts and Conferences. If the football season hadn't finished then the same thing would be taking place at AFC Bournemouth. I would assume that Poole Lighthouse have similar arrangements?!
  2. The main (old) grandstand is licenced to hold 1100. I would estimate there were around 800 in there. No idea how many in the glass/restaurant stand and only a sprinkling of hardy regulars around the bends as the video of heat 15 shows, so I reckon it was closer to 1100 -1200 in total - possibly a few more!!
  3. I know for a fact that the early evening rain showers put a number of people off. However the gap in fixtures in May caused by no Coventry fixture and the BV meeting being deferred to June 26th for TV certainly hasn't helped.
  4. There's a follow-up statement on the Stars website - not sure if people on here have seen it? - about the Health and Safety issues due to very high winds!!!
  5. Predzpelski has lost his Polish Extraleague place at Torun I gather!!
  6. Not sure that's correct as either KK or Zengi will still retain their starting averages as Number 1 until they've completed 4H/4A. Similarly with Kyle Newman retaining his 6.31 until he's done the required meetings (assuming he's not one of those to be replaced??!). With the talk of replacements as part of a redeclaration, lets not forget that teams need to retain 2 riders that are/were NL riders and still keep the team under 42 points!! Not sure that is accurate as Nicolai himself confirmed that after yesterday's scan on his knee he would be going back to Denmark to see a knee specialist as to whether an op is required?!
  7. Just back from a damp-ish and cold Wimborne Road where I've just witnessed Poole play their 'Get out of Jail Free' card in a superb heat 15 by maximum man Kurtz and Mr Supportive, Captain Hans. Pretty much the only heat when both Pirates actually gated!!!! Having predicted a 43-47 loss I am delighted at those 3 points whilst sharing the obvious doubts about the overall strength of the team. Matt Ford's programme notes - reported in the local Echo earlier today - makes it very clear that he doesn't believe the current 1-7 is strong enough. Amongst the understandable rumours circulating tonight - had Poole lost then upto 3 changes were being considered, not withstanding how long Nicolai may be out now with his injured knee.
  8. It was Coventry co-promoter Neil Watson that said on this forum new averages would only take effect when all teams have done their 4H and 4A.
  9. If I was the BV promotion I would think this fixture without the 'real' Poole would seriously affect my business plan income!! I would postpone it now - unless there is likely to be very little pre-publicity to announce the team changes, so that people turn up anyway?!
  10. Its not just about points scored on the track though, its also about his influence in the pits with the other younger riders. Nicolai has proved a very good team man so far this season - something I can't see Bates replicating even though most Poole fans will be grateful for any points he scores.
  11. Gav you fall for it every time. I've even taken you off 'ignore' as its sheer joy just to see you dangling on the hook from SS. ha ha ha
  12. Do the PZM allow riders to switch semi-finals like they do in other countries??
  13. If its been raining a lot and the tracks a bit heavy, whose turn will it be to rip the pits telephone off the wall??!! :-) ;-) If Poole can get an away point - this keeping up their record of getting something from every away meeting to date - then I'll be happy.
  14. Josh Grajczonek booked to guest for Freddie!! Strange choice imo but hey what do I know?! I could always be joking of course?! If it is called off because of the weather then it means Poole will still not have completed their 4 Home/4 Away meetings until 21/6 at home to Leicester. The earliest any new averages would then come into effect would be the home BT Sport TV meeting v the Aces on Monday 26/6 - assuming all other clubs have done their 4H/4A quota by then!
  15. Klindt would have qualified for a new average after completing his 4H/4A meetings this Wednesday. However as he's now injured I guess he'll retain his starting average until he does his next home meeting - although as has been already stated on this forum - no new averages will come into effect until ALL teams have done 4H/4A. If the riding order were to change now based on 2017 scores to date then Klindt would go to 2nd string in place of Holder at reserve.
  16. New stop and search measures come into effect at Poole Stadium from Wednesday. Allow more time for bag, handbag, rucksack and jacket searches.
  17. Well he might as he's lost his place at Torun in the Polish Extraleague!! He's asked Darcy Ward to assist him in finding a UK team place.
  18. I knew it had increased by one day. I thought it was 7 to 8 days but 8 to 9 days is equally ok
  19. ???? I'm sure MF would love to, but........... You can only replace a rider with someone on a lower average!! Klindt is still on his starting average of 5.42 cos he hasn't done 4 home/4 away yet. Starke is on 6.62
  20. All the forecasts I've seen show a dry day with only the possibility of a light shower from 10pm.
