  1. I hope all the Poole fans in attendance this evening give a good supportive welcome (back) to Paul Starke! None of whats gone on or said in the past 10 days or so is down to him so he deserves full Pirate support - as do the rest of the team!! ps. with all the anticipated dry dust this evening, for those not able to see or recognise Starkey and who don't wish to move away from Bends 1-2, he'll be wearing the Number 3 race jacket apparently!!
  2. How can you have more than one team building points limit?? How can you have riders with impossible to achieve assessed starting averages? How....? Shall I go on? It'll suit some riders/clubs more than others depending on how the riders/team are doing!!
  3. Its hardly the Polish riders' fault is it!! Having said that any Saturday team signing a Pole is taking a bigger risk......!!
  4. Any truth in the whisper that Kyle Newman might be guesting for the Lions??!! ;-) ps. I've been out of the country for a little over a week so just picking up on things!!
  5. The BSPA had their meeting yesterday (Monday) which is why so many attended the British Final!!!! New averages are effective this Friday (23/06/17) I understand. Riders that have not yet completed 4H/4A will remain on their starting average - unless their team/promoter wishes to redeclare.. In that case I imagine that the BSPA will use a formula based on the average of the actual scores in meetings each rider has ridden and the starting average!! Obviously any redeclaration must then fit within 42 points although I assume like-for-like single replacements will still be allowed.
  6. Yes with no Poole meeting this week and Brady wanting to impress his Aussie Team Manager, it makes sense.
  7. If Poole redeclare then his average could be reassessed. In the meantime KK's 11.01 remains intact for a while yet.
  8. Klindt's done 7.47 for his 3 home meetings - more than adequate, and Poole have taken at least a point from every away SGBP meeting with Nicolai on 6.27 - better than any other reserve I believe and better than several 2nd strings!!
  9. Why 'unfortunately'?? Well it is Leicester so the crowd is likely to be a bit down anyway!!
  10. Starke for Newman has been announced! Klindt 'should be cleaning up at reserve but isn't'??!! Really?! Anyway he's injured and the earliest he'll be back is 2-3 weeks and even then is unlikely to be fully fit. Shanes has increased his 2.00 average - just - so deserves to be kept as one of the NL eligible riders.
  11. The rule is only if a team redeclares ie makes more than one change at once. 'Like for like' changes are acceptable at any time within the team points total except after 31st July!! However it will be interesting to see whether Starke comes in on his 5.62 average or his 4H/4A average of 4.12??
  12. Every team has to retain 2xNL eligible riders!! Plus there is no way Milik's average would fit if replacing Kyle!!
  13. That line-up doesn't fit into the 42 point limit. KK would remain on 11.01 til he's done 4H/4A - unless he is reassessed by the BSPA if Poole wish to redeclare (according tp the rules) - the other 'new' averages would be JH 6.11; BK 9.00; HA 8.51; Przedpelski 7.00(?); JS 2.13 and we'd still need a 7th rider!!! Nicolai is talking about requiring surgery on his knee but he intends to defer this til the end of the season. He is hoping that 2-3 weeks of intensive physio and muscle work will allow him to race again - BUT that's a big risk imho especially as he would be in the 1-5 by then. ps. Also (as I keep banging on about it in Gavanesque mode), we still have to retain 2 riders who are or were eligible for the NL!! Maybe Paul Hurry?! pps. back to last night, with Middlo unavailable, well done to Team Manager Matt Ford!! Excellent motivator.
  14. So thats 5 points this week off the 2 teams that are supposedly 'so far ahead of a below-par Pirates side'. Happy to take that.
  15. How is it fair to compare Smith at his home track with Shanes away from home. He's doing what his average suggests he should do at Wimborne Road. More to the point Klindt's injury update today doesn't sound too promising for an early return. His knee needs an op which he's decided to defer til the end of the season but needs loads of physio and strengthening if he's going to get back on a bike and be as effective as he has been.
  16. If the Aces win but Poole can manage another away point then Poole will remain in 2nd place by virtue of their better match points difference. That'll do for me at this stage of the season.
  17. ...and releases Hans Anderson to ride for Poole at Belle Vue!! :-)
  18. The police - Dorset Police in this instance - are following national guidelines to increase security at all sports and entertainment venues and large outside events eg festivals. The Bournemouth International Centre issued the similar warning that extra security checks would be in place for Concerts and Conferences. If the football season hadn't finished then the same thing would be taking place at AFC Bournemouth. I would assume that Poole Lighthouse have similar arrangements?!
  19. The main (old) grandstand is licenced to hold 1100. I would estimate there were around 800 in there. No idea how many in the glass/restaurant stand and only a sprinkling of hardy regulars around the bends as the video of heat 15 shows, so I reckon it was closer to 1100 -1200 in total - possibly a few more!!
  20. I know for a fact that the early evening rain showers put a number of people off. However the gap in fixtures in May caused by no Coventry fixture and the BV meeting being deferred to June 26th for TV certainly hasn't helped.
