  1. Several weeks ago in the Speedy Star there was an interview with one of Poland's senior administrators - it may have been the Torun chief? - who suggested that the aim of their Extraleague was to have ONLY Polish riders in it. That may be a couple of years away yet even if its still their aim(?), but what are the 'top' riders going to do then? Not sure that Sweden is financially secure enough to pay out even more than they do now, so the top riders will have to lower their own financial aspirations if they want to ride anywhere!! That'll give GB promoters a bit more negotiating clout as they'll be in a stronger position to say 'take it or leave it' to the riders!
  2. Already is.......in Brady Kurtz!! lol Not sure how Gomolski would fit on 6.43 unless more than one change is to be made----------which is always a possibility!!
  3. Not sure what machinery Milik was using at Kings Lynn as he did really well in Torun the evening before in the SEC Euros, but its all academic anyway unless one of his leagues fixtures finish before July 31st. His name keeps cropping up because MF admitted he was one of the targets for the start of the season prior to the Polish Extraleague introducing their new rules, and 'may be available later in the season'? - as was Vaculik. No secret it was all reported at the time.
  4. Oh dear, does that mean I'm not one of the 'best' supporters too?! I'll be there on 12th and health permitting at every other home meeting this season as I've already paid and my seat has a back to it too!!
  5. Anyone know what averages are being used for Barker and Sedgman, - and the other Rye riders - as the 'official' BSPA figures would seem to suggest these changes are not possible under the new 42 team building limit?! Or maybe my abacus is a bit warped!
  6. Milik needs to drop one of his 3 leagues (Sweden?) if he is to be considered again by Matt. The bigger question is whether MF will be as ruthless as the Rye House promotion?!
  7. I shall be very interested to see how KK goes in this meeting also.
  8. So 8 days and 37 pages in and this meeting thread is still going - even though most of the posts since the meeting on Monday are totally irrelevant!! Maybe mods can now close the thread?!
  9. Morris is ruled out of Sunday's Berwick meeting (SS this week) because of his involvement in the World Cup!!
  10. Why would new riders come in with a 1.4 multiplied average if clubs are no longer building to 50 points? Walasek and Wozniak both have averages below 6.00 from their last stint (2016) at Leicester. The real coup would be if Matt could persuade his earlier target Milik to drop Sweden and come in on his 5.67 average. That would no doubt get the forum going into overdrive again.
  11. There are 2 or 3 Danes who might fit the bill to replace Nicolai - but there could be the issue of fixture clashes with the Danish League. Michelsen, Bech etc?? As indeed there are one or two Poles - Walasek, Wozniak and others.........?? Interesting comments about the track by Brady. He describes the track as a 'great race track' which has gone 'too soft'??!! But reckons it can be easily sorted before the next home meeting?! Not sure what that means other than getting some new proper shale in and packing it down. I expect the airwaves between Poole and Spain have been quite hot this week!! :-)
  12. Oh ffs. Yet another poole thread descends into personal negative bickering - exactly the sort of thing that caused the Poole forum to be closed down (although the new 'unofficial' one is already up and running on Proboards!!) This is becoming boring and I might well give this forum a miss now. Incidentally just to add my six-pennyworth to the views about Starman. Aside from what posters may think or say about many of his posts, I think its wrong and incorrect to refer to him as a 'free-loader'. Speedway would simply not exist without volunteers and Starman takes on a number of tasks around the stadium every week - not just on race days either. Spending much of the preceding 4 days prior to the BT meeting painting, tidying, cleaning etc at the track is certainly not 'freeloading'!! All power to all Speedway's voluntary helpers - long may they continue.
  13. No body is talking about building a new stadium. Poole Council's house building plans - across the whole of Poole - recommend a reduced number of 430 homes (from the original 550) to be located on land that overlaps onto the lorry/car park of the stadium. As the stadium site is designated for leisure use and the Council and Poole Tourism are very firmly supportive of Speedway continuing (MF did a presentation to them all - yes all - last season), they have now involved Stadia UK as the current stadium leaseholder in producing plans to 'upgrade' the existing stadium facility for the continuation of 2 sports - Greyhound and Speedway racing!! From a fans perspective such an upgrade would see the old main grandstand pulled down and replaced with something more modern - and likely modular. Replacement offices and bars underneath the grandstand and on the 3rd/4th bend should also be included together with improved covered terracing. This may mean a slight change to the track - both in size and position?! However there are currently no plans in the public arena(sic) so further comment is pure speculation. However this is being driven by the Council so expect the pressure to be kept on and MF to be kept fully informed. Matt and the Council are keen for there to be no interruption of either sport if possible so expect a 'phased' approach.
  14. As you are into comparisons Gav the cup match saw Pooles 1 and 4 score paid 22 whereas last night 1 & 4 scored paid 14. So putting it simply Belle Vues 1-7 last night was better than Poole's 6, inc only 2 heat leaders. But no complaints from me. As I said in my earlier post, Belle Vue won fairly and squarely on the night.
  15. KK will complete his 4h/4a on 26th July. He's only done 1 home Poole meeting so far. His 3 meeting away average is 7.14 so some decent home scores should get him back to 8+ points.
  16. Well lets take stock after last night's meeting. Firstly it is confirmed that Hans has NOT suffered a neck fracture as first feared. GREAT NEWS. He will give his Swedish meeting a miss tonite but intends to race on Friday in Denmark!! To be beaten fairly and squarely by 4 points, by (imo) the best team in the league, is no disgrace when missing one heat leader and only having 5 functioning riders, although I questioned the balance and riding order of the team when it was announced last night along with some of the r/r selections??!! Well done Belle Vue. Klindt is clearly unlikely to be fully fit for the foreseeable future but his 6.21 average after last night doesn't leave too many decent options!!!? The Poole Aussie boys were clearly out to show Mark Lemon the error of his Team Australia selections!! :-) Starkey scoring 9 points and having the race of the night, more than did his job, along with young Shanes - we've just been spoilt having Nicolai at reserve!! KK returns for the Kings Lynn meeting on 12th July - but will there be another change by then - or later?? Whatever the state of the track - and it was quite poor last night - I doubt that there will be any major work carried out on it until the Stadium developments/changes/improvements are made clear by Stadia UK - especially if any changes involve a 're-positioning' of the track and/or the stadium?! Having watched the meeting live and then the TV version this morning I was pleased with the BT approach but totally annoyed by Pearson's commentary as well as his continued banging on about Tai in his Matchday programme column. No bias there is there??!!!!! I'm sure MF will have got all the reports on last night from his 'team' as he was unable to witness it first hand due to a prior commitment!! Onwards and upwards. (ps. At least I gather from 'sources' that we could already have next season's main sponsors sorted!! ;-) )
  17. Apparently the same part of the wrist that he broke previously!!
  18. Plenty of gaps in the fixture list to arrange holidays so no excuse to miss any meetings!! But hey if the season ticket doesn't work for you then so be it!!
  19. What 'known form' is that then with Klindt carrying a badly injured and heavily strapped knee as well as riding in the main body of the team for the first time this season??
  20. Belle Vue website has Klindt at 4!!? If thats true then it could prove decisive in heat 14 as his injured knee will have been through the mill by then - especially with the extra r/r ride as GZ is missing!? 42-48 win for Belle Vue I feel. Also local Echo says gates to open at 6pm - that's 30 minutes earlier than usual.
