  1. All clubs are reducing admission prices for the BT meetings. How's Batch go at Leicester?
  2. Expect Batch to be getting booed by the Stars faithful at AFA on Wednesday (KL v RH). If he's not it'll be because of injury or disciplinary action!!? I'm sure someone from BV or Wolves will step in
  3. Its cheaper on subscription as I have my pension to consider!!! In any case I wouldn't see 'my mate' during the winter months, other than at one of the monthly Poole fans' social evenings/quiz nights!!
  4. The SCB should impose similar fines to those given to Coventry management and riders in that infamous Bees v Pirates Sky meeting a few seasons ago - albeit the fine for the club was later rescinded!!
  5. Doubt Doyley will risk it in GP week, so lets hope the Robins use Batch again - he simply loves Wimborne Road! lol (Oh wait they can't 'cos KL are racing!) Also hope Lahti gets a few practice laps in before then. Just musing about the play-offs - if its BV, Wolves, Poole and Swindon, I wonder who BV would pick?!
  6. KK will complete his 4H/4A meetings v Somerset on 26th July and get his new average - just before the cut-off - by which time Brady should be close to a return. A Poole friend of mine suggested Brady back at 1 and either use KK as 3rd heat leader or keep Richie Worrall instead - depending on scores prior to 28th. Thats always assuming Jarek Hampel doesn't want to come over?! (only joking, honest!!) :-)
  7. Another great result for the Robins. It sure looks like the BV boys have suffered the worse SWC hangover than most! It makes the play off situation much more interesting with more teams in the running, especially if Rye beat Wolves tonight and the Robins (with injury-free Batch guesting again) beating Leicester on Monday?!
  8. Rumour that it could be Timo Lahti for Klindt? 5.45 last average I think
  9. Perhaps the KL press officer and the Swindon press officer should have got together to get their stories right before announcing he was guesting?!
  10. That last bit above is not 100% correct!! Anyway moving on - My Speedy Star only arrived today (a day later than usual) so I've only just got to read it. After the debacle at the AFA yesterday, there is a quite incredible article in the Kings Lynn column entitled 'Losing Grip'!! The opening paragraph reads :'Grippy tracks such as those in the Kings Lynn Stars Premier League days are on the wane.' It goes on to say how riders and management appreciate the sport has changed over the years.....' "Stars staff point out that a repeat of conditions which contributed to the previous (Premier League) success - namely an ultra grippy surface - are simply not possible due to the evolution in modern machinery." The article goes on and on. Pick up a copy - you will be astounded.
  11. What the journo's tweet actually said was 'Pirates news in next 24 hours'!! It didn't mention anything about riders.
  12. Probably because if/when Poole Stadium was to close, you would undoubtedly be one of the first to gloat on here.
  13. If I were BV I'd only ride 'under protest' at Batch's inclusion!! ;-) ;-) The SCB official granted the IRR facility for him last night, so the SCB should stop him from guesting 24 hours later. (and that's no disrespect to Swindon!) Is the NSS track looking heavy and grippy for this evening??
  14. So I've waited until the dust has settled a little - although there doesn't seem to have been any dust at the AFA last night - and have read through several pages of comments, many of which seem sincere as well as the usual wind-ups. Firstly I'll make it clear that I wasn't there last night, I was following on updates and the Poole twitter feed. Secondly whilst I am no particular fan of Chris Holder's attitude (although I do love to watch him race when in-form), what I find difficult to understand is why his home track has been prepared as 'very grippy' when he has stated quite openly that he hated the track when visiting as an away rider and doesn't like too much grip. It was also reported on here that young Lambert was assisting Buster by going around with him an the tractor and 'telling him what he wanted the track to be like'!! Why, if this is different to what your 'top' riders want? At the end of it all, a sad night for Kings Lynn Speedway in particular, as many Pirate fans thought about Poole Speedway after Wednesday night. Thanks for the 4 points and best wishes to Dale Allitt for a full and speedy recovery. Finally, I couldn't resist a smile at Gavan's posts having a go at other posters for commenting whilst not being at the meeting!! A greater irony I have not witnessed for many months!!
  15. Great result for the Robins, in the circumstances. Looking forward even more to next Wednesday. 4 SGBP teams in action so different options available in GP week for any guests that might be needed. :-)
  16. Still a bit early to start this thread - lots could change before next Wednesday!!
  17. How about THJ for NK? Not everyone's cup of tea but I think he fits?!
  18. Bjarne's end of season average last year was 6.91. However isn't there a rule that stops you from re-signing a rider from last season unless they are in this year's starting 1-7? ie you can't sign him mid-season. The same applies to the likes of Buczkowski. Walasek, Wozniak, Swiderski, (Watt!!) ?? :-)
  19. Milik already riding 3 leagues - Poland Sweden and his own domestic Czech League. For him to be a realistic choice he would need to either drop Sweden or wait til all his Czech commitments are done!! As for KK we can only hope he continues last night's Heat 13 performance!!
  20. I think Kings Lynn may be a little upset with that as they are at home v Rye House the same night!!
  21. Thanks for all the definitive scorelines for this evening - I guess there's no point me going now?! ;-) NB. Ayres 'rode' for Leicester at Poole 3 weeks ago and could hardly stay on the bike, scoring a big fat zero. Shanes scoring 2 or 3 points this evening could well be the difference between the 2 teams! I expect someone will no doubt tell me!!
  22. Whoops indeed - watching too many re-runs of that Steve Worrall race in the SWC final obviously!!
  23. 'A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down..........'!!
