  1. Yes in hindsight he should have come out, had an e/f in one then a slide off like Batch and damaged his thumbnail!! Think how much better his average would be?
  2. Aah our 70th Anniversary year!! Who will be celebrating? Who will be riding? Who will be promoting? Who will be managing? Answers to many of these questions and more will be available in November 2017! lol
  3. Well that's stunned me to be honest but happy for Eddie and some decent home meetings to look forward to. So assuming Brady is back for Wednesday the 1-7 riding order should be something like 1. Kurtz 8.76 2. Holder 6.20 3. Kennett 6.82 4. Lahti 5.45 5. Andersen 8.35 6. Starke 5.31 7. Shanes 2.55 If Brady not back yet then: 1. Hans 2. Timo 3. Richie 4. Jack 5. Eddie 6. Paul 7. James
  4. A single change like for like. Perks has a lower average than Riss so ok. Your latest 1-7 line-up had more than 2 changes so constituted a re-declaration which has to fit within 42 points Poole's current 1-7 inc both KK and Brady (back for Worrall) totals 45.85 from Monday.
  5. Lets not forget that any redeclaration has to fit within 42 points!! Eddie Kennett's away form has been absolutely awful this year (3. something average) so a big risk on 6.82 imo. Milik's Czech fixtures would have to be finished if he is to be considered plus he would need to be on a 3.87 average to fit in Gater1's line-up!!! How about sacking KK but 'keeping' KK on his 9.23 average by saying he's withholding his services and then use horses for courses guests. Any rider would be eligible for home meetings and anyone bar Doyle for away meetings. Chris Holder will want to get into the play-offs somehow - as he won't be doing it with Torun - so if not in the P/Os with KL then he could guest for Poole!! ;-)
  6. I imagine Chris will want to do his best to get into the play-offs either with KL or as a guest(?), as he won't have that chance in Poland!!
  7. Maybe its a rider who has been out injured and is due back imminently and will want as many meetings as possible to regain form?! Maybe that's what has delayed the inevitable change?!
  8. Someone jumped on it pretty quick in the first place!!
  9. Next season fb next season!!! (Depending on the league format for 2018 and any X factor changes to averages??)
  10. Well Jon Cook was at Poole last night. He was with Matt in the office when I popped in.
  11. KK stays on 9.23 (as per BSPA Issue 21) until he does his 4th home meeting (next Weds 26th if he's still in the team) but then it would drop to around 5.68 (based on the 3 home/4 away meetings to date). Thats why its crucial to get the replacement number 1 in before then.
  12. Well....and I thought it would be a close one!!? So what do I know - except along with all Poole fans a sense of deep disappointment. Many congrats to Rosco and the Robins - superior in every department last night - with the possible exception of number 7!! Shanes winning the Rider of the Night award!! I think KK was told his fortune on Monday, but its the availability of the replacement rider that necessitated his continued inclusion last night.(2 names in particular circulating last night!) As I've said previously, KK's 9.23 average remains until he has completed his 4th home meeting which would be next Wednesday v Somerset, so Matt has a week to confirm/announce the replacement - which I fully expect to happen. Matt's column in last night's programme seemed to indicate just one more change (KK!) but his after-meeting comments would seem to suggest there may be more. Whether that is to give the proverbial 'kick up the backside' to the remaining riders or is simply referring to Brady's return we shall have to wait and see. Others have given their rider by rider comparisons from last night so no point in repeating, other than to say I agree almost entirely with Steve Shovlar's summary - with the possible exception of Richie Worrall who took a real tumble in his first ride and therefore we don't know how that may have affected his subsequent races!? Onwards and upwards Poole fans - still time to get it right, (I've just increased my blood pressure meds!) but August will be a very interesting month.
  13. Anyway it seems James Shanes has declared himself fit for tonight! :-)
  14. No he won't be but I had to put it somewhere and as he's a Poole asset the Poole 2017 thread seemed the most appropriate!
  15. So the track should be well-watered with some light drizzle continuing this morning after last night's thunder storms!! Its still overcast and very humid which will require some attention to set-ups for both teams. Poole will need to start much much better than on May 1st when they went 15-29 down by heat 7 to the Robins and then only just failed to claw it back by heat 15. Not sure a good start is feasible with KK v Doyle, but you never know Timo may shock everyone. :-) 47-43 for me.
  16. Thomas H Jonasson (THJ) has let it be known he's in discussion with 2 British clubs about racing in UK. Could one of those clubs be Leicester?
  17. I would think the biggest challenge is for Leicester to field a decent 1-7, with all their injuries.
  18. Away from the Number 1 debate, Poole asset THJ is in talks with 2 British clubs and is keen to do a stint in the UK.
  19. Both teams as expected subject to final fitness checks on Ellis and Shanes. KK commences his final 8 days on his 9.23 average, due to complete his 4 home/4 away meetings on Weds 26th at home v the Rebels, so if anything is to happen re replacing him watch this space. Pirates need to start strongly and not go 15-29 behind by heat 7 as happened on May 1st!!
  20. So Buster's 'final comments' on last Thursday's issues will be in tomorrow's matchday programme!! I wonder if it'll say anything new?! Steve Worrall and Lewis Kerr guest for Holder and Rose with r/r for Huckenback. Batch returns at 1 - should make it interesting. I reckon if all the Rockets are fully fit, there could be an away win in the offing.
  21. That is/was certainly the plan. He has been having specialist oxygen chamber sessions to speed up the rib repairs. KK has another week on his 9.23 average before it drops on completion of his 4 home/4 away quota against Somerset on 26th
  22. We wouldn't be replacing KK at 1. Brady would do that as he'll have the highest average on his return, with Worrall staying at 3 or 4. In any case, name me a suitable No.1 replacement!!!
