  1. Damaged his foot on Thursday apparently! (At least that was the reason given!)
  2. I think any potential issue is with the newly awaited BCP Council 'Local Plan' which is currently in the 'public consultation' stage! The plan takes each council ward-by-ward and shows the Poole stadium site within the Poole Town Centre ward as a 'potential area for development'. This is no different to previous plans under the old Poole Council, and has no current planning applications attached to the site, despite part of the site (railway sidings and Stadium lorry park area) previously being suggested for housing, whilst retaining the stadium itself.. Generally the Council has said it does not want to lose any sports/leisure facilities, (it is currently working with Poole Town FC to source a new facility!) but nevertheless has targets for new houses/accommodation to be met over the next 15 years or so. Personally, I wouldn't see the Stadium site as a 'priority' area for development by the Council as there are several other sites identified across the whole B'mth/Christchurch/Poole area which I would see of higher priority. BUT a planning application could be submitted and fully funded by any third party partner ('cos the Council don't have the money!). It would be at that time that any protests and objections from speedway fans and anyone else against such developments would become necessary. The housing development market isn't that buoyant at the moment so I guess its WATCH THIS SPACE for the time being..............! In any case, it would likely be several years for any similar circumstances to come about, so as long as the rental of the stadium for speedway is kept at a reasonable level then I see Poole Speedway continuing for a good while yet. (Just my personal opinion!)
  3. Poole v Plymouth rearranged for Weds May 1st! (ps. Also rumoured that Oxford v Poole rearranged for Weds 8th May - not confirmed as yet, but being mentioned at Oxford on Thurs!!)
  4. So Anders Rowe confirmed as a guest at no.1 for Plymouth on Wednesday. Very brave!!!
  5. They are all still available on 'catch-up'!!!
  6. If he's in for several meetings then he should be on his own average ( like Scotty covering for Pawlicki) and therefore won't be at 1. If he's just a guest on Wednesday then he'll assume Covattis average at 1.
  7. Possibly because they team they've announced may not be the 1-7 that's declared?!
  8. It's a Poole thread and the races are from Pirates TV. If you want something else try BSN.
  9. That's exactly what Neil Vatcher's team is doing with young riders from motocross, grasstrack and elsewhere. But it takes time.
  10. So the 'Premiership has started to get its act together'?! Brum sign Nicholls as a temp replacement for the not yet used Pawlicki and Ippo use Nicholls twice as guest for Doyle.
  11. Not forgetting Masters on a T/S scoring 0 points. I think with Poole's upgraded track prep, the Oxford riders seemed caught out with set-ups. Super night though. Live band (not to everyone's taste but then music never is!) plus some terrific racing in front of a huge crowd - many of whom I hope are back for our next tough meeting against............Plymouth!
  12. Anybody got the GI statement in the Adver?
  13. Tobias 5+1 from a 4 point 2nd string! What's not to like (eh Martin Hunter?) and a donut too. Ticking the box. 61-29 didn't see that coming. Fab crowd, both car parks full half hour before start time. We'll done team.
  14. They will probably use a 'passenger replacement service' or use a 'guest' service ie a bus!! NB> TRACK UPDATE AT 1PM.- Bright, sunny and breezy at Wimborne Road. Meeting definitely ON. Designated turnstiles opening 30 mins early at 6pm for Pre-booked ticket holders and Season Ticket collections.
  15. Despite the earlier rain the very strong winds have dried the track nicely. It just depends now on how much more overnight stuff falls.
  16. The BSN Series had T/S rides last season. Plymouth used one at Poole and vice-versa at Plymouth.
  17. SCB now grant a 28-day guest facility to Plymouth to cover Covatti's absence,
  18. It was also stated either by Mark Philips or Gary May in interview that Covattis injuries were not in plaster casts!!!
  19. Taking up bends 3 and 4 and putting down some aggregate which needs time and sunshine to bed in.
  20. Just back from Portugal today. It was cool and raining when I left with similar forecast for Easter!! Enjoy.
