Poole Pirates Vs Somerset Rebels 26/07/17
SteveLyric2 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Aren't you forgetting the bit that says "except with the permission of the BSPA MC, in the best interest of Speedway".? ;-) With Lahti's greater experience of different tracks, yes I did think he was an ok choice for the number 5 - but everything is easy in hindsight. Incidentally anyone who says there is little shale on the Poole track should have seen it last night - or rather the piles of it scraped off in order to get the meeting on. Well done track staff. One of the issues the current Poole 1-7 has is their individual track prep preferences. Richie commented at the end (as I gave him the Rider of the Night trophy ;-) ) that he loved the track prepared that way - with a decent bit of grip - and wishes it was like that every week!! Others in the team clearly prefer the drier, slicker racing surface. Nothing wrong with the actual track itself - no bumps holes or ruts. Matt's comments on the SpeedwayGP site this morning indicate that he may well still try to get a new signing in before the midnight deadline. (For the 2nd week running there were a couple of names circulating, one of which was a Dane.) And he's clearly having a go at some of his so-called 'superstars' (or those that think they are superstars) to start demonstrating it on the track - tonight at Swindon could be their final chance!! Matt continues his Team Manager role at Blunsdon this evening with Middlo away (Not sure if he's holidaying with Peter Adams?? ;-) :-) ) Good to see Rosco in the pits - picking up more tips presumably?! And also good to see Hans' public apology for letting the team and the fans down.... Others have already done the rider summaries , so what I would say is that my guests last night though it was an excellent meeting (aside from the result) with lots of 'exciting racing'!! I would tend to agree. -

Lahti is a 4xleague european rider ffs. Nothing wrong with having him at 5. Anyway hopeful of Poole continuing their away run of getting something from every away meeting!! Hopeful, but I'm not putting money on it! -

Both teams at full strength - based on current line-ups - although Rebels still waiting on late fitness check for Lewis Kerr. -

Tai is probably just wishing Peter Adams a good and safe holiday. Maybe its a cruise in the seas where the Somali Pirates are?! Or maybe Tai has done an interview in the Poole Matchday programme - as if its not enough Pearson mentioning him every b!**dy week!!

Gavan won't know which way to turn!!!? March 23rd is the proposed date for the 70th Anniversary meeting with a Gala Dinner also planned for the Saturday night.

It was more like a 'filler' interview with Cook not being there!! ;-)

BT Sport'll be in a panic having to re-schedule all their Cook interviews - unless of course he's gonna be there in the pits with the 'neutral' Ms. Natalie?! -
Not at Poole he won't!!
-
...but he does want/need sponsorship which he's getting little of in Sweden!!!

So who are the 2 NL eligible riders? Porsing back next week. -
I'm aware of what Adam's dad said (and also Kyle's for that matter) so presumably that means that if Poole offer either or both a contract for 2018, they (or their dads) will turn it down?!
-
Just to be clear Eddie Kennett is not coming in as a 2nd string. He will come in as 3rd heat leader and going by what he has said himself will start at number 3 in the riding order. Hans will go to 1 until Brady returns on August 10th unless in that time Hans gets a higher average?! The interesting thing for me is who will ride at number 5? Richie, Jack or Timo?
-
Kyle was axed because his average was about to drop to below 4 points and had he not started scoring better or got injured again it would have been much more difficult to replace him either permanently or with a guest?! Its always a numbers game!! Most of the arguments were over loyalty or lack of it - whatever that means in speedway?!

Lambert continued til he got eliminated in the 2nd semi final at Posnan so I would see no reason why he wouldn't ride at Leicester? - unless he's hurt his wrist again or was it his thumb?? -
Next round isn't til September I believe!?
-
Really?! I'm sure the AGM can still introduce some sort of 'factor' to further 'equalise' the top 2 leagues!! That might depend on how one-sided the promotion/relegation 'battle' is - or not!!? If they are sensible and don't weaken the sport even further then I can see Magic back at Poole.
-
So Brady struggling in the U.21s today on a rutted track after torrential rain and then bright sunny conditions. Loads of crashes, loads of replacement air fence panels - and anyone suggesting Woryna (or Wureigno according to Sam Ermolenko) then they need to get him to stay on the bike. When interviewed, Brady reckoned to be out for another 2 weeks - at least!!

Brady has been having oxygen chamber treatment for his rib injury and will ride with it heavily strapped. Keeping fingers crossed for him. -
I actually think that Kelvin has improved considerably this season and for me is clearly the senior of the two!! He also doesn't keep mentioning Woffinden at every opportunity.
