Wolves Vs Poole 7/8/17
SteveLyric2 replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Since our fortunate away win last time, Poole have lost away by 28 and 22 points respectively at 2 of the top 3 teams - not withstanding the run of home defeats too. The team on Monday will be virtually the same - although there may be changes in the riding order (hopefully) - so on current form and very low confidence I see nothing other than a home win!! If Poole manage to get an away point I shall be delighted - not to say surprised and relieved. -
Kings Lynn V Swindon 02/08/17

Some people - mainly KL fans it seems - need to remember that Batch was carrying 2 separate injuries last season which had a clear effect on his form. Some said that if he was able to rest and recuperate over the winter as well as having a positive Aussie Championships to restore a bit of confidence then he would be a steal for any club on his low average - as it proved. Not commenting about his attitudes or off-track behaviours!!! -
The latest BSPA averages - Issue 26 - show Musielak on 7.22 effective 10/08/17.

Premiership Matches Deadline!
SteveLyric2 replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I honestly don't know the reason for the big gaps in many Premiership clubs fixtures. It was claimed that scheduling fixtures in the 'odd-numbered' years ie 2015/2017/2019 etc was far easier than the 'even-numbered' years as there weren't (m)any major clashes with other big international sporting events that take place every 4 years or so?! So what have we got next year? World Cup, goodness knows what else and the usual Wimbledon etc . Good luck with that one. -
The thing is that the top 3 Swindon, Belle Vue and Wolves will all want Poole to claim the 4th place because they know the crowds will be better (especially at Swindon!!) for the play-off semi final and they also know they'll have a great chance of progressing to the final.

Historically that's why the BSPA haven't 'recognised' the SEC (or the Pairs, run by the same Polish Promoter) and don't allow British riders to take part. They argue its to protect Saturday tracks from losing their top Brits. Obviously no control over Swedes, Danes or Poles competing in it - but Rye would have known that before signing KK
-
Yep, a British term taken from British (BSPA) rules for British speedway. I'm surprised BV expect any sort of facility for Fricke as it didn't happen whilst riding in Britain!!? (ps that's a joke by the way!!)

No team can re-introduce a rider from last season unless they are declared in this season's starting 1-7. No way would Holder (or Pedersen, Lindback Buczkowski for that matter) be allowed back in this season.

A minimum of 60 days - just in time to go down under for the Aussie GP!

Saw Brady (and Todd) last evening and Brady confirmed that next Thursday was still the target to return. Ribs are feeling fine but needs to test them out on a bike. Richie will have one final away meeting at Wolves on Monday that will see him complete 8 meetings (3 Home 5 Away).

Any idea why Ipswich have priority over Leicester for Newman this evening?? Is tonight a rearranged fixture?

Somerset V Belle Vue. 4.8.17.

No Bjerre either (Bellego guests) due to Danish Final. Not sure if that affects Hougaard also? -
Oh look, Gavan's back and straight on a Poole thread!! Who would've guessed?! lol

The one thing people seem to be missing is that this season's rule changes were made before the TV arrangement with BT Sport was finalised!! This gives the BSPA plenty of scope to announce changes to the rule 'due to pressure from BT' in time for the play-offs - especially if BSPA want BT to continue in future seasons. Maybe once the 4 play-off teams are confirmed, a sensible, fair-to-all rule change could be made - but only if Kings Lynn aren't the 4th team (with Buster carrying more weight as Chairman!!)
-
I'm sure BT Sport will be delighted to show their first play-offs with teams potentially full of guests and r/r?! Madness.

Rye House V Leicester 2nd August 2017
SteveLyric2 replied to JamesM09's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Amazed this is still on in all honesty. The torrential rain moving through Poole and Bournemouth since midday together with similar conditions on the TV at Goodwood - exactly as forecast - surely its only a matter of time?! -
Not sure that's a valid comparison?! MF was team manager for 2 meetings last week and we know what happened there don't we?! :D

Heads Gone 2018 Team Building
SteveLyric2 replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Your suggestion puts all the 'control' with the promoters. It falls down when selected riders don't wish to ride for the team/promoter that picks them - for whatever reason, race night, sponsors etc etc. -
