Nothing wrong with the Poole track - most visiting teams know exactly how to ride it, as recent results will testify!! -
I think injuries to Kurtz and Klindt and Newman have certainly undeniably affected Poole's season.

At least Brady hit a bit of form for Rybnik yesterday. Being race-fit will help. James and Eddie's success on the European Grasstrack should at least not have a negative effect on their form. Hopefully our reserves can do well, but I still reckon an away win by 4 points or so!! -
I'm sure I've read somewhere that he can resume racing from April 13th 2018?! Maybe read it in the SS?

Anyway back to the thread.......Anyone know what the SCB Appeal process is?? Assuming CH wants to race in UK again next year then I would think that any club considering signing him would be proactive in supporting an appeal for his 9 month suspension to be reduced by at least a month?!

I'm fairly certain that when the AGM was brought forward it was then discovered that any rule changes etc could not be confirmed or announced officially because the BSPA Constitution still referred to November as the 'decision date'!! One would hope that the Constitution has by now been amended to allow for an earlier 'rubber stamping' exercise. However anyone thinking that rule changes, league structures, points limits et al are left to the AGM has to be a little deluded - however it may appear to the fans. Clubs/Promoters are aware of the main changes/limits by August as they have been discussed at monthly BSPA meetings throughout the season - its just that the fans have not been informed - and why should they be until they are officially confirmed?! Hasn't it been stated already that the BSPA Chairman has spent much time attending 'World' fixture meetings already to try to minimise the major fixture clashes. I can't imagine that is an easy task in any year - least of all in 2018 when football's World Cup is also taking place - so we can expect many of the usual fixture issues to continue imo. The Polish rules and the likely Swedish option of only running one league (rather than 2) will have a bearing on the number of rider places up for grabs across Europe. The British Clubs or Promotions that are financially confident of running next season will have begun their team planning already. One thing is for sure, speedway will continue in UK!! The variables include number of teams, number of leagues/divisions and the standard/number of riders required.

Hee hee hee don't you just love it?! In my post #283 where I shared some of the 'rumours' doing the rounds on Thursday, I made no mention of the 'signing' being a Number 1, nor a heat leader for that matter. The 'signing' could just be an addition to Poole's asset base to give more value to the club (ie a rider that is still prepared to ride in UK) for when if it comes on the market at some point - but not necessarily guaranteeing a 2018 team place?! Woryna is an interesting one?! Certainly no secret that he would love to ride for Poole as he still includes the 'skull & crossbones' on all his kevlars (except the Coventry ones from last season cos Horton objected!!) -
Paul Starke guesting for Bjerre. Scott Nicholls on standby for Nilsson in case injury is not fully healed after Poland today!! r/r for Prezedpelski who is not allowed to fly due to risk of blood clot at the moment?!

In all seriousness CH is entitled to appeal!!

It doesn't say anything of the sort does it?! Nobody would 'sell up' when the team is at its lowest value. surely??!! ;-) -
Well you'll be able to see for yourself Steve0 as it won't be Poole now.
-
Well if CH is in Poole's plans for next year, he won't be able to start the season will he? Unless there is some sort of appeal by CH and/or Poole that might reduce the length of the ban for about a month?!

Aah I'm touched at the concern from several posters about my wellbeing (or maybe after the past few weeks simply 'touched'!!?) - I was delayed last night at the stadium, busy autographing the photo in the matchday programme of me and Richie Worrall from the meeting I DID sponsor. Only just had the chance to check out the forums this pm as I have lots of other responsibilities on Fridays. No point me attempting to summarise a meeting that has already been well and truly summed up by others who were there - other than to say what an awful night it was and the team need some serious gating practice. I was actually sat behind Brady's Mum and Dad who were the quietest I've ever witnessed - at least they hade Todd's performance at Sheffield to keep them interested!! As is the case when there is little to cheer about the home team or the racing there was considerable chat amongst fans and some sponsors, with some interesting 'rumours'!! For example, 1. will Poole have a different team manager next season? 2. Anyone seeking to move to the Broadstone/Poole area may well find the choice of properties has increased recently. 3. Did we hear from the office 'Yes I know its my fault - there are 4 riders who shouldn't be in the team'!? 4. Was the first rider in the 2018 1-7 signed this week (a rider not riding in UK this year)??! I'll leave you all to ponder on those..... Oh and btw well done Rye House, well deserved trouncing - I loved the way the whole team walked around the track at the end to applaud the fans. I shall enjoy watching the Somerset, Rye House and Kings Lynn (?) battle for the 4th spot whilst Poole now concentrate on retaining some sort of decent crowd for the rest of this season and continue with their 2018 70th year arrangements. -

My guess for Brady's first meeting back when he might still be a little 'sluggish', is 1.Kurtz; 2. Kennett; 3. Holder; 4. Lahti; 5. Andersen; 6.Starke; 7. Shanes. Otherwise 1.Kurtz; 2. Holder; 3. Lahti; 4.Kennett; 5. Andersen; 6. Starke; 7. Shanes. -
Quote from today's Echo:- Middlo 'would like both Holders - Chris and Jack - in the Poole side for 2018'! BUT 'its MF's decision as to which riders are signed!'
-
MF has already begun announcing some of the 70th Anniversary stuff - individual meeting on March 23rd - including appearances by Mark Loram and Tony Rickardsson. Plus there is a strong 'word on the street' that a new Main Team sponsor is already in place!! If 2018 season is to be one of MF's last then expect some of Poole's assets to be called upon for a final 'favour' - subject to the points limit?!

Rosco confirmed for BT Sport so Scott Nicholls will line up for Rye. -
I'm not presuming anything - including one big league!! There are not enough riders around for one big league, aside from all the extra travel costs for riders/clubs to cover. Much more likely to go with regionalised divisions first, possibly with one being structured to be stronger than the other - although how that will work with the promotion/relegation result taken into account, who knows? We'll need to see what rules and regs and contracts are on offer in Poland Sweden and the UK, as well as who may be making the decisions at various clubs and leagues??! With 2018 being Poole's 70th Anniversary year (and Gavan's correct, even more so after this year) MF will undoubtedly be going all out for a crowd pleasing and winning team!!
-
Because he's said so!!
-
What will be really interesting to see over the winter is what happens to the Swedish League? Already stated that its unlikely to have 2 leagues as there aren't enough clubs financially sound enough along with hardly any Swedish riders coming through! Many riders will have some serious choices to make before next season - amd many won't have a choice at all!!
