So Matt Ford confirms today (Echo and BBC Radio) another deal is done with terms agreed for the rider 'to switch to the south coast' for 2018! It will be the 3rd full signing of this year (after Klindt and Woryna), but as stated on the radio there are one or two minor things to sort out so 'its not the right time to make the announcement yet'!! Read into that what you will.............

I watched some of Tuesday's Swedish speedway on Freeview's FreeSport Channel 95 last night although I missed the start and didn't catch who the commentator was? Anyone else see it?
-
I like most of the BT format for speedway. The addition of Natalie and Brando have been great I do think Kelvin has improved and I also like that we only have to listen to (rather than see) Nigel Pearson!! ;-) I am thinking about starting a new Premiership Play-off Quiz thread to estimate the number of times Nigel mentions Woffinden/Woffy despite the fact he doesn't feature in the 6 play-off meetings!! :-) :-)
-
Fairly sure NKI - and other riders - will seriously consider giving Sweden a miss especially after not getting paid again!!! Then its just a question of which Premiership club will sign him?! ;-)
-
I think Jacobsen would be on 5 points according to current rules - rules which of course might be changed in the agm for 2018!!
-
On a speedway thread it must be 2 minutes!!!!
-
The dates for the promotion/relegation play offs are 9th and 11th October - according to BSPA fixture list!!
-
Sundstrom was one of the riders approached to replace KK when he got injured earlier this season. He ended up covering for KK's Polish team place and Poole went for Zengota instead!! So also on Poole's radar perhaps.
-
Morris will be with Swindon as long as Rosco is there. He's part of the Rossiter family.
-
I haven't told anyone I know whats going on at Poole - and I certainly haven't disappeared!! However at every Poole home meeting I go into the office, I chat with fellow sponsors and journalists and chose to share some of the chit/chat on this forum. NB I haven't named the second rider even on the Poole 2018 thread let alone any other team's thread. My post #389 on the Poole 2018 attempts to say why?!
-
You forget at least a 3rd or 4th option - Chris doesn't appeal! Chris appeals and loses, even getting a longer ban?! You can't sign a banned rider. If you declare a rider in your starting 1-7 you cannot use an equivalent guest (or r/r?) for a rider who hasn't ridden that season, due to a ban, injury or clash of fixtures.
-
I note that some expect/would like Kyle Newman to be back in 2018?! I guess it'll be down to the numbers game again.
-
Exactly the reason I didn't divulge the name of the rumoured rider on the Poole 2018 thread.
-
Wouldn't be the first time 2 promoters have done deals without the riders immediately being aware - especially when teams are still in action!!!!!
-
Aah thanks. I obviously didn't trawl back far enough through all the carp posts and insults.
-
Oh Steve you spoil all the fun. This has been the rumour (confirmed by one or two)for the past couple of weeks ever since Jon Cook was in the office with MF!!! ;-)
-
So have BT confirmed what they are showing on Monday at Wolves. My on-screen programme schedule still shows 1930 to 22.30 with only a half hour cancelable repeated footie programme following in case of speedway running over presumably?! From BT's perspective (aside from any cost implications), it makes sense to show the first meeting featuring 2 of the play-off teams. As for the 2nd meeting, I'm not sure?
-
I don't think it matters who the crowd favourites are, a successful winning team will always bring the crowds in. A successful winning team will also bring the sponsors in - almost in spite of what the actual racing is like!!
-
Good to see 3 (not all) of Poole's assets performing well in yesterday's World Team U21 Final. ;-) ;-) Denmark's Freddie Jacobsen looks to have come on very well since MF took a look at him in last season's Blue Riband!!
-
Well I hope Paul Starke is fully recovered from all his illness/injuries as he goes back to reserve for the play-off semis. Especially as Poole can only replace with a rider from the bottom 4 teams - so Kyle Newman anyone?!! ;-) ;-) ;-) If that were to happen can you imagine this forum?! Ha ha ha!
-
This Poole fan is certainly not being dismissive of Swindon. When they click as they have done for 17 consecutive winning meetings they are a force to be reckoned with....... BUT as a certain Poole fan always says - love him or loathe him - nothing is won in May, June, July and August!! I am just pleased to have more meetings to attend.

Rye House V Swindon 1st September

Having had the chance to sleep on it, Well done to Rye House who can look back on a very successful first season in the top league. I just feel so sorry for KK!! -

In normal circumstances I would think Swindon may well have picked Belle Vue (ie a track that pleases JD) but with the Robins meeting the Aces twice in the KO cup on 13th and 14th September, I can't see that happening! I expect Rosco to pick Poole and as others have said - its all to play for with Poole simply happy to be in the play-offs!! ;-) ;-) -
Agree in principle - but didn't the BSPA (Buster and Rob Godfrey)hold a fans forum at the start of this season to get fan views?? One of the big problems with fan opinion is there is a huge mix of preferences ie if you put 30+ fans (1 from each club) plus a few that have stopped attending in a room you would likely get 30+ preferences as to the best way forward, including regional and divisional differences - aside from many of the basic issues eg top riders v regular speedway at any level; guests v doubling up/down; admission prices; speed/power of machinery etc etc etc

I can't hear that Fat Lady singing yet!! That result both surprised and pleased me no end, especially with the Robins doing their 'Dying Swan' routine in Hoddesdon!! Lahti back in the main body of the team and Starkey dropping back to reserve may have an effect in the play-offs - but its all to play for. Come on Swindon make your mind up!!
