  1. The matchday programme 'Pirate Pride should make for interesting reading this evening in a lengthy interview with club owner Matt Ford which apparently includes reference to 'plans for an unprecedented move'??!!
  2. Never Fridays - there are too many other European 'non-GP' meetings that require riders to either practice or travel on Fridays. Mondays/Wednesdays or Mondays/Thursdays for me.
  3. Its what can happen in any speedway - missing one of your heat leaders through injury (Pawlicki); another heat leader underperforming (Holder) and having to carry the 'load' by top-scoring with 9 points!!
  4. Absolutely. I make no bones about the fact that 4th place is more in the hands of the other play-off potentials than in Poole's. Having sat through every Poole home meeting this season, I'll seek out any straw to clutch at that I can!!
  5. Quite an assumption that Ippo will win the Championship!! Sheffield or Glasgow look much better prospects.
  6. The afternoon practice should concentrate on their gating. Any other practice will be pointless - unless they are testing out different pairings - as the track will be different come start time.
  7. Another draw like at Somerset last night would suit!! :-)
  8. An easy win for the Robins (hopefully). I'll have a word in Eddie and Paul's ear on Wednesday!! lol
  9. Its well known that MF is not one of the biggest payers. If and when Poole sign a 'top' rider then its down to the many corporate sponsors that MF works very hard to support the club - in addition the many 'family or individual' sponsors. You've only got to look at Poole's website - every meeting sponsored - every heat in every meeting sponsored. No 'financial benefactor' just good sponsors.
  10. Not with Starke and Kennett guesting for the Rebels at Swindon on Thursday!!!!!!!
  11. Who is Poole's 'biggest financial benefactor' exactly??
  12. Nothing wrong with the Poole track - most visiting teams know exactly how to ride it, as recent results will testify!!
  13. I think injuries to Kurtz and Klindt and Newman have certainly undeniably affected Poole's season.
  14. At least Brady hit a bit of form for Rybnik yesterday. Being race-fit will help. James and Eddie's success on the European Grasstrack should at least not have a negative effect on their form. Hopefully our reserves can do well, but I still reckon an away win by 4 points or so!!
  15. I'm sure I've read somewhere that he can resume racing from April 13th 2018?! Maybe read it in the SS?
  16. Anyway back to the thread.......Anyone know what the SCB Appeal process is?? Assuming CH wants to race in UK again next year then I would think that any club considering signing him would be proactive in supporting an appeal for his 9 month suspension to be reduced by at least a month?!
  17. I'm fairly certain that when the AGM was brought forward it was then discovered that any rule changes etc could not be confirmed or announced officially because the BSPA Constitution still referred to November as the 'decision date'!! One would hope that the Constitution has by now been amended to allow for an earlier 'rubber stamping' exercise. However anyone thinking that rule changes, league structures, points limits et al are left to the AGM has to be a little deluded - however it may appear to the fans. Clubs/Promoters are aware of the main changes/limits by August as they have been discussed at monthly BSPA meetings throughout the season - its just that the fans have not been informed - and why should they be until they are officially confirmed?! Hasn't it been stated already that the BSPA Chairman has spent much time attending 'World' fixture meetings already to try to minimise the major fixture clashes. I can't imagine that is an easy task in any year - least of all in 2018 when football's World Cup is also taking place - so we can expect many of the usual fixture issues to continue imo. The Polish rules and the likely Swedish option of only running one league (rather than 2) will have a bearing on the number of rider places up for grabs across Europe. The British Clubs or Promotions that are financially confident of running next season will have begun their team planning already. One thing is for sure, speedway will continue in UK!! The variables include number of teams, number of leagues/divisions and the standard/number of riders required.
  18. Hee hee hee don't you just love it?! In my post #283 where I shared some of the 'rumours' doing the rounds on Thursday, I made no mention of the 'signing' being a Number 1, nor a heat leader for that matter. The 'signing' could just be an addition to Poole's asset base to give more value to the club (ie a rider that is still prepared to ride in UK) for when if it comes on the market at some point - but not necessarily guaranteeing a 2018 team place?! Woryna is an interesting one?! Certainly no secret that he would love to ride for Poole as he still includes the 'skull & crossbones' on all his kevlars (except the Coventry ones from last season cos Horton objected!!)
  19. Paul Starke guesting for Bjerre. Scott Nicholls on standby for Nilsson in case injury is not fully healed after Poland today!! r/r for Prezedpelski who is not allowed to fly due to risk of blood clot at the moment?!
  20. A wet heavy track?? how many Aussies there? Team Manager and guest - could be iffy??!! ;-)
  21. So I understand although I'm not on twitter!! Still a nice start with a rider with Poole connections!!
  22. In all seriousness CH is entitled to appeal!!
  23. It doesn't say anything of the sort does it?! Nobody would 'sell up' when the team is at its lowest value. surely??!! ;-)
