  1. The thing about the Stadium's location is that it can be relatively dry even if its hissing down in the nearby suberbs. Equally the reverse can also be true. So we'll just have to rely on those actually there to make the judgement.
  2. To be fair Matt stuck to his words from mid-season that he would be replacing up to 5 riders - and he's done exactly that for this season.
  3. But there's no mention in the rules!!!!! Fair enough if it was discussed at the AGM - but you'll be telling me next that every promoter attended every AGM session?! BTW I didn't think CVS attended the AGM due to his illness/treatment!
  4. Latest Met Office forecast is for a dry day on Tuesday with gusty winds, followed on Wednesday by a combination of sunshine and occasional showers until mid afternoon and then clear through the evening. Should be good Poole line-up Brady; Kacper; Josh; Linus; Kildemand; Mateusz and James.
  5. Which 'former promoter' are you referring to? If its Gordon Pairman then he is a current co-promoter who also serves on the Speedway Control Bureau - so I guess he should know the truth!!
  6. Can you point me in the direction of where this appears officially in the 2018 rules please!?
  7. Excellent read this week. Having been away last week I've got 2 issues to get through as my alternative to the rained off Good Friday meetings!! :-) Just emailed my confirmation of the Star Subs Membership too!!
  8. I'm not surprised there are no 'standardised' admission prices, as each club will have its own distinct costs, not least depending on whether they own or rent their stadia and what other revenue comes to them rather than to the stadium owners?!
  9. Interesting dilemma for Chris on Saturday. He's been announced as attending the Poole Anniversary Gala Dinner at AFC Bournemouth as well as being in the Monster team for the Euro pairs at Torun?!
  10. Exactly. As I stated above a mirror image of Rohan's start to last season!!
  11. Tungate's early season performance is a mirror image of last season isn't it?! He'll undoubtedly come good - but will it be at BV?
  12. Rosco in his post meeting interview on You-tube reckons a 2-minute clock would cost around £1300 - 'insignificant in the overall scheme of things'!!
  13. Its more likely to give Masters more time to recover from his foot injury!!!
  14. This season the reserves can switch between 6 and 7 - Team Manager's choice - unlike in 2017 when the lowest averaged rider had to be at 7.
  15. Good to note that each of the 2 reserves can be at either 6 or 7 this year, rather than the lowest average fixed at 7.
  16. BTW for anyone in any doubt the team in Red/White and Black is ...........oh hang on!!!?
  17. If we are starting to talk 'facts' then it was Chris Holder's first choice to ride at Poole with his brother!! That was made abundantly clear to Chris that that wasn't going to happen because no way would Jack be in the Poole team this year!! Somerset then became the second preference but they couldn't afford the fee 'cos they already had Doyley committed. Edit SS beat me to it!!
  18. Well if the Aces v Robins Shield meeting goes ahead tomorrow good luck to any neutrals in identifying which team is which!! Almost identical race suits with some having the same sponsor - CFS - on both!!
  19. Hardly by 'default' if you follow MF's reasoning in the Echo. Josh is the obvious choice.
  20. So is it the 5 that have the colours wrong or just the 2?!
  21. So is Masters going to be fully fit for the first meeting? He had withdrawn from the Ben Fund Bonanza if it had gone ahead!!
  22. If I was Swindon';s main sponsor I would be strongly objecting to the race suit zipper going right through the middle letter of my logo!! Surely it would be better to one side?! Maybe it was a 'pikey' designer that did it??!
  23. Brady's deal was done before he went back to Australia last season!! Dudek was a definite target last season, but I seriously doubt whether he could be comfortably afforded this year. Poole, like most clubs I presume, run to an annual budget which will be based on expected achievements, crowd numbers, sponsorship etc. Its no secret that Poole have had 2 successive seasons of 'under-achievement' by their own high performance standards - made even worse by injuries and dramatic under performing by certain riders!! That said, there has clearly been an unexpected financial strain on the club's budget which MF is attempting to address for the coming season and is cutting his cloth in selected areas accordingly. Fortunately sponsorship and advertising income is still very buoyant, whilst turnstile income will no doubt be swelled when the team are successful again - eg season ticket sales have already been reported as being the best for 10 years!! An improved customer experience has been promised with track work and grandstand seating improvements already done and other racenight/presentation tweaks underway. Personally I can't wait for the team fixtures to begin on Good Friday. Bring it on.
  24. Commercial Manager??? Who was that then? Poole have taken on a designer and a media agency!!
