  1. Well I hope Paul Starke is fully recovered from all his illness/injuries as he goes back to reserve for the play-off semis. Especially as Poole can only replace with a rider from the bottom 4 teams - so Kyle Newman anyone?!! ;-) ;-) ;-) If that were to happen can you imagine this forum?! Ha ha ha!
  2. This Poole fan is certainly not being dismissive of Swindon. When they click as they have done for 17 consecutive winning meetings they are a force to be reckoned with....... BUT as a certain Poole fan always says - love him or loathe him - nothing is won in May, June, July and August!! I am just pleased to have more meetings to attend.
  3. Having had the chance to sleep on it, Well done to Rye House who can look back on a very successful first season in the top league. I just feel so sorry for KK!!
  4. In normal circumstances I would think Swindon may well have picked Belle Vue (ie a track that pleases JD) but with the Robins meeting the Aces twice in the KO cup on 13th and 14th September, I can't see that happening! I expect Rosco to pick Poole and as others have said - its all to play for with Poole simply happy to be in the play-offs!! ;-) ;-)
  5. Agree in principle - but didn't the BSPA (Buster and Rob Godfrey)hold a fans forum at the start of this season to get fan views?? One of the big problems with fan opinion is there is a huge mix of preferences ie if you put 30+ fans (1 from each club) plus a few that have stopped attending in a room you would likely get 30+ preferences as to the best way forward, including regional and divisional differences - aside from many of the basic issues eg top riders v regular speedway at any level; guests v doubling up/down; admission prices; speed/power of machinery etc etc etc
  6. I can't hear that Fat Lady singing yet!! That result both surprised and pleased me no end, especially with the Robins doing their 'Dying Swan' routine in Hoddesdon!! Lahti back in the main body of the team and Starkey dropping back to reserve may have an effect in the play-offs - but its all to play for. Come on Swindon make your mind up!!
  7. Georgie Wood is riding for Poole as a guest for the Longtracking James Shanes.
  8. So I reckon its Somerset to win by a couple of points. Garry May will have them well and truly psyched up for the 'bragging rights'!! Poole will be fortunate to get a draw and then hope that the Robins don't roll over at RH now they are confirmed as finishing top. If Poole do manage to hold on to 4th place, then with Starke dropping back to reserve and Timo up into the 1-5, I can't see us progressing past the semis. ;-)
  9. It won't be Wednesdays as the BSPA have a good relationship with the Danes and more Wednesday fixtures would undoubtedly see fewer Danish riders over here!! It has to be Thursdays for the Premiership and with talk of 10-12 clubs then one must assume that the likes of Ipswich and Sheffield will step up - as they have both previously stated that they are keen to do.
  10. I would agree with that. Well done to the RH promotion (even though I want Poole to retain 4th spot). I would expect the BSPA chairman to get the cut-off date extended to allow for the rearrangement of KL v RH. He'll do almost anything to scupper any hopes Poole may have!! ;-) ;-)
  11. Good luck Swindon for the continuation of the winning run - Don't slacken off just because you're guaranteed top spot!! :-)
  12. I agree with most of what Doyley is saying - except the point about 'more accidents' in UK, as referred to above by Perton Wolf. There have been far more serious accidents in Poland (and Sweden for that matter) despite the so-called better riders and better tracks!!
  13. He's not suffering with dizzy spells, as I corrected earlier on the other thread. He's had a flu-type virus for the past week. He just felt a bit 'dizzy' ( or wobbly as he later described it) as he approached the 3rd bend in heat 1 last night. He was fine after that - if a little tired!!
  14. If it upsets you so much Steve0 then stay off the thread - Simples. Although I suggest you keep an eye on this one. Lol
  15. It almost sounds as though Swindon are getting a bit jittery despite their terrific winning run and topping the league??!! lol Me? I'll just be very pleased if Poole hang on to 4th even if Lahti does revert to the 1-5 from Monday!
  16. Strangely and very unusually at any track, there was a 2nd 5-0 at Rye House on Tuesday after the one v Poole the night before!! No Aussie riders involved this time!! Incidentally Jack Holder's been struggling with a flu-type virus!!
  17. I have to admit this has been quite enjoyable so far!!! lol Should keep a few occupied over the Autumn.
  18. Its well known that Lambert is carrying a knee injury which makes the knee swell up after too much pressure on it - thats why he didn't ride in the 2nd meeting last week and why his races tend to tail off towards the end of a meeting. Buster has stated he has riders in place!!! Barker is missing for Rye House due to a fixture for Redcar.
  19. I have to say I felt a bit sorry for the KL riders and fans last night. They did try hard - that was obvious especially in the first half of the meeting - but the Poole team continued with their Jekyll and Hyde season by really turning it on when they needed to. Just to clarify my earlier comment about Jack Holder's 'dizzy spells', I have now listened to the post-meeting interviews again and what he actually said was 'he was feeling a bit sick and just felt a bit dizzy going into bend 3 in heat 1'. He did ok for the rest of the meeting.
  20. Yes! ps. So good to catch up with THJ again last night.
  21. Its being reported that Lambert is only riding in the first meeting v Poole and will not ride v Rye House. I hope Buster has got a decent guest or I'm sure Poole will protest!! Rye House missing Barker.
