Relegation And Promotion Play Offs
SteveLyric2 replied to flagrag's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ok I own up. I couldn't count the 'Woffys' as I kept nodding off. But I was also surprised at the number of times Nigel said Yes very much so' after Kelvin had made a decent observation - well into double figures!! - And that was only in the bits I was actually awake for!! I'm not sure whats worse - the fact that I started counting or that I'm sharing it on here??! Roll on March 2018. -

OK guys and gals - how many times will Woffy get a mention on BT Sports tonight?! -
Before everyone jumps the gun, clubs including Poole may have to have a Plan B, C or D as it would seem that talks with the Polish Authorities in Torun over the weekend did not go as well as expected. (Aside from Gdansk claims that Torun tried to bribe at least one of the Gdansk riders prior to yesterday's 2nd leg of their Promo/rele play off!) I wonder if the previously suggested relaxation of restrictions by the Poles might only apply to non-Polish riders rather than all riders in the Extraleague?? I would imagine that the Poles would still want ultimate control/priority over all Polish riders!? Maybe different for Swedes, Danes, Aussies, Russians, Slovakians, Slovenians, Czechs?

More likely to have Doyley and both Holders!! ;-) Season's fixtures could presumably start a bit later - mid-April - (using something to do with the new stadium works as a 'reason' for not starting in March) so that Holder senior can finish his ban.

When the Monday/Thursday fixed racenights are announced it won't mean Mondays AND Thursdays every week for all teams, it'll be Mondays some weeks and Thursdays in others. -

He can't fly can he????? ;-) ;-) Added to which he'll undoubtedly pick up an injury in Gdansk this afternoon!!! -
Spot on, PW!!

I don't get why people are thinking this 'fixed night' proposal has only just come up. The BSPA members have been discussing introducing it for at least 3 agms in order to give clubs the opportunity to decide the best 2 nights for the Premiership and negotiations to take place for other clubs and their landlords where necessary. Premiership clubs have been used to running on Mondays for TV. Wednesdays (the other main option to Thursdays) would impact on the Danish League who the BSPA wish to keep in with and would impact on some Danes who will wish to race over here!! Championship teams will have the pick of all the other nights/days. Our 'beloved' BSPA Chairman has stated recently that all clubs affected are in agreement - they just have to vote it in at this year's agm and rubber stamp it!

It'll really screw up certain people's 2018 plans if Leicester manage to win this!!? ;-) -
Can't see Antonio doing more travelling with another addition to his young family this week!! Although I do hear there may well be a 'surprise' signing in the offing!! (I might have to revisit my earlier team suggestions) :-)

According to Damien's comments on the Sheffield website and in the Speedway Star, Sheffield will be going all out for Promotion to the top tier!! -
FB I think what you meant to say is Klindt won't be long in the 1-5 with Woryna starting at reserve?! (Apologies if I've read that wrong?!)
-
Sounds as though the E&S has repeated the story from the Speedway Star quoting Gary Patchett.

Absolutely Blueboy your last line could be true. Of course if it is true about Poole now owning his contract, then MF would have to give permission for any other clubs to negotiate with him - and he would only do that if he had no intention to use him in the Poole side. I would imagine if any announcement is going to be made it can now be done after the end of Swindon's fixtures. To be fair Adam was only released by Poole due to his high average - its usually just a numbers game!! I agree and have argued that very point on another forum but some fans on the other forum seem to be of the opinion that it could/should go to 45 points??!!

Starry, unless Chris gets a reduced ban on appeal then he will not be available to race for any UK team til April 13th earliest and even that assumes he has no visa issues which some have suggested. (I don't know whether he does or doesn't?) Official meetings will be scheduled to take place prior to that as the 70th Anniversary meeting is scheduled for 23 March and Easter falls end March/early April and Matt would not want to miss out on the bumper Good Friday payday!! Just to clarify I only added the averages to what Brandon Bob had posted previously and added Klindt into the mix as MF had previously said he would like to fit Nicolai in again. As for the Ellis rumour (very strong rumour amongst sponsors) JTS previously said he knew nothing about it and at the time Adam was racing abroad, That's a bit different to 'categorically stating there's nothing doing' ?! As I said at the time fathers don't always know what is happening with their sons?! The info amongst sponsors was that Poole had purchased Ellis' contract from Lakeside. I've no reason to doubt that info as the sponsors were discussing the possibility of 2018 sponsorship - in addition to those Poole companies that already sponsor Adam viz a viz his Swindon kevlars in the final on BT last night. Sometimes 2 and 2 actually do add up to 4. Maybe its the 'teenage moods' again.

What I think is even worse than the should he/shouldn't he debate is the timing of the press release!! Simply Woffy and his PR team (Pearson) trying to steal the publicity away from the actual meeting!! Some would say very clever PR - others would say its diabolical excuse just to give NP the opportunity to get Woffy mentioned on TV - again!!!
-
Well done to the Robins. A deserved win in a teriffic final. You have to feel a little sadness for Wolves for whom injuries/guests simply came at the wrong time. I wonder if this rule might get changed again for 2018?! Anyway a play-off final with the top two teams over the season - everything is rosy in the Premiership - isn't it?!! lol
-
So Kurtz 8.08 Woryna 4.65 Ellis 5.56 Shanes 2.95 Klindt 5.78 uses 27.02 of the available points, leaving around 15 to 18 points depending on the final points limit (42-45)?! Room for a couple of decent heat leaders!!

I get BTSport on Virgin Media. Both meetings are on their programme schedule for 19.30hours on Monday and Wednesday on BT Sport 1. -
I'm told that an appeal is in the pipeline but not sure how that might go?! Whether he was able to attend the original hearing is irrelevant as it was held very quickly after the offence and he may not have even been in the country at the time?! Not defending his actions by any means but if I was in his corner he may have a case over the length of the 'ban' which seems somewhat arbitrary and punitive (or as some have said downright vindictive!!). I mean why 9 months? Why not a year? Why not 6 months or a fine or any other penalty? Unless there is something written down in an ACU/SCB rule book (not BSPA) that states the penalties for certain offences?!

....and not just the Polish market!!!!
