  1. Doubt the track will need much overnight watering with the forecast for Sunday being torrential rain and the occasional light shower on Monday morning! I think this will be a close one but Poole should have the edge - but will it be an edge of more than 6 points? Hmmm...
  2. A bit late on the forum today due to other priorities, so... Yes I was disappointed with the early call off, but for those that said it was 'just a drizzle', it wasn't as those fans dashing for cover would testify. The rules state that only the losing team can call for the Ref to inspect the track, which he did and presumably then had discussions with both captains - Hans and Josh - as required. I've no idea what was said and can only go on what was said in the post-meeting conference which has already been alluded to - its a shame that no Leicester riders (Hans?) were at the conference to give their view. Leicester had lost the meeting, Josh had completed his 4 rides so it was no skin off his nose to continue. I don't condone any of the booing however disgruntled fans, including myself, may have been. What does annoy me however is that the Poole Promotion get the blame!! My memory went back only a few weeks when I recall a meeting being called off just prior to the gates scheduled opening time at 1830 hours. Who were the opponents that night? Oh yes Leicester and Captain Hans - maybe its a trend??!! Anyway at least for the likes of the many season ticket holders, including me, its onwards and upwards to Monday's top of the table clash with the rebels.
  3. because Leicester were riding yesterday (Wednesday). and Leicester agreed to the fixture. Anyway lets hope the track prep is similar to the last couple of meetings for this potential 'banana-skin' of a fixture. Just as a reminder the Lions were leading upto heat 6 on their last visit, until the 8 5-1s kicked in!! Bellego and Allen give the Lions a bit more hope....
  4. Wright is a 2nd string on doubling up/down duty so the Lions get a guest (Bellego). Auty is a reserve and will be replaced by someone (Starke or Allen - depending on the source of the info?) with the same or lower average.
  5. ...and 2 of those Poole v Somerset v Poole meetings can be seen live on BT on 13th and 20th August, so all viewers can judge who seems best for the play-off choices.
  6. Can you please try to make sure Bellego has a tiring night - he's guesting for Leicester on Thursday!!! ha ha.
  7. ....and he's continuing that trend in Sweden tonight!!
  8. As has been said many times over, its not how you start its how you finish!! After his 'performance' at Wolves last night, his form goes from bad to worse in the Swedish TV meeting this evening - 0;0; replaced; so far.
  9. Bellego can go very well but not sure pairing him with Hans is necessarily the 'Wright' solution?! UPDATE: Apologies I saw the alphabetical 1-7 (less the Auty guest) and thought it was the riding order?!
  10. In which case they should look after Holder too then!! btw how is Hans doing at the moment?
  11. Aah another rule change that I must have missed. Thanks. Should make the meeting a bit more competitive.
  12. So Leicester have booked David Bellego as a guest for the missing 2nd string Charles Wright (who is 4th in the Lions averages)!! How does that work exactly?
  13. Next 2 BT Premiership TV meetings are 13/08/18 Poole v Somerset and 20/08/18 Somerset v Poole.
  14. probably still counting it!!!!!!!! Seriously its often announced on the REF page of the Poole website, but at the moment they are more concerned with the presentations to Bomber and Richie on Thursday. If Matt is in the office on Thursday I'll ask.
  15. I think Leicester have been racing on an 'off-night' for several weeks!!
  16. I understand that L-C, but it suddenly went from raising money for Bomber to why wasn't money raised for Hans when he blew an engine to Poole should have kept Hans - the latter being perhaps relevant at the beginning of the thread/season but hardly now?! Still, as i've said twice already - each to their own!
  17. At the moment its r/r and Mark Riss booked for Jakobsen!!
  18. Not quite sure how a discussion on setting up donations for Bomber has turned into a who was better - Andersen or Holder' debate? Poole won nothing in 2016 or 2017 when Hans was in the team. Not saying that was down to Hans or any other individual rider but it might well explain why the promotion went for a very different 1-7 this year. One thing is for certain - if Chris Holder had managed to get his visa sorted and was included in this year's Poole side - then the attendances would have shot up far earlier than they now have with Bomber! ( and I'm not a particular fan of Holder either)! Anyway almost £800 donated for Bomber so far by 53 fans - not bad for the week after the SRBF collection at Poole
  19. Not comparing him with Holder, just don't agree that he should have been a cert for the 2018 team. As I say each to their own.
  20. Well I happen to be in the camp that doesn't agree with you about Hans - but each to their own I guess.
  21. New averages for September will be calculated and published after 23rd August as usual. Its only team changes that can't happen after August 12/15th - unless there is a season-ending injury when the BSPA MC will make a decision based on what is best for British Speedway.
