But now there are other options.......!! :-)
-
Plus whatever terms are agreed with Nick Morris, Rosco gets a load of it back by charging for board and lodgings!!!
-
The rule was voted in by the 4 teams who didn't make the play-offs!!
-
If BV didn't get a vote then that explains how the 4 clubs who didn't reach the play-offs managed to outvote the other 3 that did!!!!
-
The madness of the 8 point rider rule is that it has been introduced BEFORE the list of assessed averages has been decided. A member of the SCB was not able to tell me what average Vaculik is on and the SCB have not yet seen the full list of 'independently assessed' averages??!!

Sgb Premiership 2018 Confirmed Signings
SteveLyric2 replied to Mattfordfan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If you are quoting from the BSPA site then include Woryna for Poole (as listed). 4.65 -
Agree A ORLOV but who the hell would vote this rule in? It doesn't affect the Championship teams so who are the 5 (minimum) Premiership clubs that formed the majority in the vote?? Absolutely crazy decision.
-
Yes but the 3 and 5 riders can easily become the number 1.
-
BV were losing Bjerre anyway - more definite now that Wednesday is one of the fixed nights, but tough on Wolves and Swindon in particular. I wonder where Thorsell and either Doyle or Morris will race - or will it be 'if'?? Assuming it was the 8 Premiership clubs that voted in the 'one over the 8' rule, I wonder which clubs were in the majority?? Very odd rule.
-
Tough on Swindon, having to lose one of their top 2. Wolves in the same boat!! I really can't see the logic behind 'only one 8+ point rider per team'?
-
So Somerset v Poole in the KOC first round!! And there could still be a 'big' signing under 8 points within the 42.5?! My slightly playful 1-7 of yesterday may well have some legs....... Kurtz 8.08; Ellis 5.56 (or Newman or Starke); Holder 7.16; Gomolski 6.43; P.Pawlicki 7.32; Woryna 4.65; Shanes 2.95. Total 42.15?

AGM finished at 1850 hours. Full update on www.speedwaygb.co at 10.00 am Monday Highlights include - good progress on fixed nights 8 Premiership teams 11 Championship teams Team building points limits agreed Fan views on tac-sub and start procedures taken note of plus other initiatives!!!?? Interesting only 8 Premiership teams??!! Will they be the current ones?
-
Riders change clubs all the time - even World Champions especially if they understandably start asking for 'silly' money!! Remember Mark Loram!!? Anyway didn't Doyley do a 2 year deal for 2017 and 2018?
-
Its funny. When I suggested Adam Ellis weeks ago many said it was unlikely - and it may still be if the points limit is less than 42 points!!?
-
Yes but then they issue a corrected and more accurate one to meet the Speedway Star deadline!!!!
-
Neither Holder is signed up yet. The Pole purchased from another club is Woryna (4.65 average from 2016) - signed as an asset and hopeful of a 2018 team place.. Kurtz was a done deal before he went back to Aussie (not announced but confirmed by his father). Shanes is highly likely (ps does he and any other Brit get a 2.5% reduction?) If they do, I could give you a realistic 1-7 that fits in 42 points (3 poles; 2 Aussies and 2 Brits) - assuming of course that the limit is 42 points (with 41 now being rumoured)

Anyone who hasn't got Freeview built into their TV, seriously needs to consider buying a new set!!
-
How many Companies or Associations release news about AGM decisions mid way through the meeting?? Apart from the Chancellor whose minions release snippets before the Budget is announced?! Patience people - its only November!!
-
Latest bulletin from Tenerife is that its a lot cooler than expected (17 degrees) and somewhat cloudy with the sun breaking through only occasionally!!!
-
So not going down the Danish route in 2018 (does that mean one of the fixed racenights will be Wednesday??). Instead its 3 Poles, 2 Aussies and 2 Brits - but I bet you won't name them in case you've got it wrong?! (1 Pole, 1 Aussie and 1 Brit have already been named signed so not many to go...........!!?)
-
Quite a few fans have said that Speedway should be a Tena sport!!
-
Something will be accidentally leaked on Sunday usually as a result of a phone call or text from Tenerife to someone UK-based to set some wheels in motion. This will be followed with the usual 'ill-thought-out and incomplete' official press release on Monday!!
-
But at least when on an unlikely highly inflated average he had the chance to get another club unlike when he'd only managed an unlikely low average, he was dropped from a great height by BC?!
-
Aside from the money, riders, clubs (and the leagues for that matter) want the TV exposure for their sponsors - existing and potential - so even if BT don't cough up any cash and there isn't any other TV company interested, the BSPA should still go with a BT offer to televise live meetings!!
-
If it was only about scores on the track rather than attitude off it, the team line-up would be far easier.
