  1. Yes but then they issue a corrected and more accurate one to meet the Speedway Star deadline!!!!
  2. Neither Holder is signed up yet. The Pole purchased from another club is Woryna (4.65 average from 2016) - signed as an asset and hopeful of a 2018 team place.. Kurtz was a done deal before he went back to Aussie (not announced but confirmed by his father). Shanes is highly likely (ps does he and any other Brit get a 2.5% reduction?) If they do, I could give you a realistic 1-7 that fits in 42 points (3 poles; 2 Aussies and 2 Brits) - assuming of course that the limit is 42 points (with 41 now being rumoured)
  3. Anyone who hasn't got Freeview built into their TV, seriously needs to consider buying a new set!!
  4. How many Companies or Associations release news about AGM decisions mid way through the meeting?? Apart from the Chancellor whose minions release snippets before the Budget is announced?! Patience people - its only November!!
  5. Latest bulletin from Tenerife is that its a lot cooler than expected (17 degrees) and somewhat cloudy with the sun breaking through only occasionally!!!
  6. So not going down the Danish route in 2018 (does that mean one of the fixed racenights will be Wednesday??). Instead its 3 Poles, 2 Aussies and 2 Brits - but I bet you won't name them in case you've got it wrong?! (1 Pole, 1 Aussie and 1 Brit have already been named signed so not many to go...........!!?)
  7. Quite a few fans have said that Speedway should be a Tena sport!!
  8. Something will be accidentally leaked on Sunday usually as a result of a phone call or text from Tenerife to someone UK-based to set some wheels in motion. This will be followed with the usual 'ill-thought-out and incomplete' official press release on Monday!!
  9. But at least when on an unlikely highly inflated average he had the chance to get another club unlike when he'd only managed an unlikely low average, he was dropped from a great height by BC?!
  10. Aside from the money, riders, clubs (and the leagues for that matter) want the TV exposure for their sponsors - existing and potential - so even if BT don't cough up any cash and there isn't any other TV company interested, the BSPA should still go with a BT offer to televise live meetings!!
  11. If it was only about scores on the track rather than attitude off it, the team line-up would be far easier.
  12. If its Mondays and Thursdays - as is strongly suggested - then surely clubs will run on both nights over the course of a full season?! If they are away on a Monday then a home meeting on a Thursday is surely the best option rather than wait for a fortnight. Can't possibly see the BSPA agreeing to that 'cos Matt Ford proposed it about 5 years ago on the back of Chris Holder and Darcy Ward suggesting the same option!!!!
  13. If Woryna starts as a 2nd string then that means finding another decent reserve on less than 4.65. I think he'll start as reserve and if he continues his 2017 form I agree he will go into the 1-5 on the first set of green sheets - subject to what the final points limit is!! All 2017 riders should be on their actual final 2017 averages achieved on the current race format. The only issue is for riders who didn't race in UK in 2017!! The BSPA can re-assess a rider's average if they have not ridden UK in more than 2 years. There were some riders who were brought into teams mid-season in 2017 who were given their actual averages from 2015/16. Not sure that Batch will feature as MF has stated clearly that he doesn't want any 'teenage-like whingers'!! If the points limit is 42 then an example line-up option could be: (although I don't think it will be!!) B.Kurtz 8.08; C.Holder 7.16; J.Holder 5.82; K.Newman 4.86; K.Woryna 4.65; J.Shanes 2.95; leaving 8.48 for a Number 1. (If the 2 Brits get a 2.5% reduction then that gives 8.68 for the remaining rider)
  14. Seems like a bit of mis-communication somewhere along the line. The website mentioned on the shop signage www.poolespeedway.co is not valid. It should be www.poolepirates.co Somebody is in for it!!!
  15. You remember Scott Nicholls but not the lovely Sophie Nicholls-Blake!!! Shame on you Sir!!
  16. Congrats to Shanesie for winning the Young Apprentice rider award.
  17. Thanks GRW. Apart from Speedway and the very occasional grasstrack meeting I have not been to any other motorsport event - so it was an honest question. I'm not suggesting the sport 'excludes' families - far from it - but simply concentrates its promotion of the sport to a different demographic group ie 16-30 yrs. Emphasise the danger, the speed, the 'gladiatorial' aspects of the sport rather than the 'happy-clappy, family-friendly' approach. Aside from the cost to families, there are lots of other family activities that can be far more attractive than speedway - especially when you take in the whole package of run-down facilities, beer and burgers that are the usual fare at most - not all - tracks. Just a thought - as the family-friendly approach can't be said to have been a brilliant success over past seasons.
  18. Mondays and Thursdays are the 2 preferred days for the Premiership, with Tuesdays (Sweden) and Wednesdays (Denmark) out of the question. Fridays and the weekends are also out due to Poland, GPs,& Practice, other Euro fixtures and Championship fixtures.
  19. Quick question - how many other motor sports attract - or attempt to attract - a young family audience?! I'd have thought that the 16-30 age group should be the key target audience as they have some reasonable spending power and if hooked could be the regular fans of the next 10-20 years!!
  20. Hope they keep it short and sweet - its Rosco's and Julie's Wedding Anniversary today!!!!!!
  21. That already happens and is fine - until the Poles don't like what is being suggested. The Poles have been expanding their racedays through the week because of TV demands, hence their keenness to ensure all their riders favour all their fixtures!
  22. True, but every customer should also make sure that the working conditions in which the self-employed businessman is being asked to do his job also meet acceptable standards - or the self-employed businessman can choose not to do the job!
  23. Freesports started on channel 95 on Freeview on August 31st, Sports Channel Network (SCN) starts on channel 273 (Freeview) on 1st December 2017.
  24. Not talking about sponsors for the league(s). I was referring to sponsors of clubs and riders by local or regionally based companies that have a national (or even international) product or service to promote. Indeed some may only have a local/regional product to sell but still have reasonably large marketing budgets in speedway terms.
  25. Its a bit of a devil trying to find the right date!! :-)
