  1. Just to repeat what I put on the Swindon thread - as it was me that started the 'Ellis Poole asset' whisper on here as that was what was being discussed by several Poole sponsors at the time - according to Adam's dad (Jonny the Spud) the deal between Lakeside and Poole was agreed, BUT then Lakeside increased what they wanted for him and MF pulled out. According to the full Swindon statement neither Ellis nor Waijnecht are guaranteed a 2018 team place despite them becoming assets!! It'll be a numbers game as it is for all clubs' team building.
  2. Quite right. As Adam's dad (Jonny the Spud for those that don't know) PM'd me over a month ago, the deal between Lakeside and Poole was agreed - but then Lakeside increased their price!! MF never pays over the odds. Incidentally, the Swindon statement says that neither Adam or Zach are confirmed in the Robins 1-7 yet!! As with most clubs the final line-ups will be down to the numbers adding up correctly!
  3. Zengota is 7.79 in the final 2017 BSPA list today.
  4. Hope thats not a sign that MF is being ruled by his heart rather than his head??! NB. I assume that as there has been no announcement to the contrary - each team will still have to track 2 Brits (or riders that have ridden NL)?!
  5. So why would Matt Ford state publicly yesterday that the '8 and over' rule was agreed so that the SGBP could ensure 'the likes of Somerset could get a strong number one'!!? ps. Woryna should be 4.65 as that was his final 2016 average.
  6. Well at least the 'final 2017' averages are now on the BSPA website. I doubt the 'assessed list' will not become public (and why should it as long as the clubs know?) until the SCB have approved all the BSPA proposed rules and decided what category the assessed riders fit into.
  7. Aren't Trucks R us one of Chris Holder's sponsors???
  8. Not enough decent riders of an acceptable standard to go one league!! 19 clubs = 133 riders
  9. The Buccaneers had support but not enough to cover stadium and admin costs.
  10. As Matt also said, there are still some things that weren't confirmed at the AGM and still need further clarification - not least the averages of riders that either haven't ridden here before or not for over 3 years??!!
  11. Why would anyone look at that link when the list clearly states they are NOT the official Greensheet averages??! Issue 35 on the BSPA site are closer to the actual figures - but even they are not shown as the FINAL averages!!
  12. With Matt's comments today about ensuring Somerset are stronger with a decent number 1 - how about loaning Brady back to the Rebels for a season, along with both Holders??? Just a thought!! :-)
  13. So, what chance Kurtz and both Holders at Somerset????
  14. Interesting line-up --- if only the averages were correct??!!
  15. As of yesterday evening the SCB weren't aware of Vaculik's average - anymore than any of the other assessed riders!! The SCB have asked for the full 'independent' list of averages which they expect to receive later this week. (As advised by Gordon Pairman to me yesterday!!)
  16. So an 8 point rider has a poor start to the season and drops below 8 points in the first set of greensheet averages!! Does that mean another 8 pointer can be signed - and in theory at least - make the team even stronger within the 42.5 limit? PS. Bjerre cannot be vying with Cook for a BV team place yet as BV won't have yet had permission from Poole who own Bjerre's contract. Similar situation with NKI and KL if you believe MF's comments in today's local Echo?! In justifying the 'one over the eight' rule, he states its in everyone's interest to ensure that the likes of Somerset have a decent Number 1. He then goes on to mention several riders by name that he is in contact with - NKI, Bjerre, Holder, Andersen, Janowski and Madsen. So could this mean that for example Kurtz may be loaned back to Somerset (along with his mate Jack Holder) and also even with C.Holder(?), leaving Poole to sign another 8 pointer and a couple of 7 pointers to make a stronger 2-5?
  17. But now there are other options.......!! :-)
  18. Plus whatever terms are agreed with Nick Morris, Rosco gets a load of it back by charging for board and lodgings!!!
  19. The rule was voted in by the 4 teams who didn't make the play-offs!!
  20. If BV didn't get a vote then that explains how the 4 clubs who didn't reach the play-offs managed to outvote the other 3 that did!!!!
  21. The madness of the 8 point rider rule is that it has been introduced BEFORE the list of assessed averages has been decided. A member of the SCB was not able to tell me what average Vaculik is on and the SCB have not yet seen the full list of 'independently assessed' averages??!!
  22. If you are quoting from the BSPA site then include Woryna for Poole (as listed). 4.65
  23. Agree A ORLOV but who the hell would vote this rule in? It doesn't affect the Championship teams so who are the 5 (minimum) Premiership clubs that formed the majority in the vote?? Absolutely crazy decision.
  24. Yes but the 3 and 5 riders can easily become the number 1.
