  1. Well at least the 'final 2017' averages are now on the BSPA website. I doubt the 'assessed list' will not become public (and why should it as long as the clubs know?) until the SCB have approved all the BSPA proposed rules and decided what category the assessed riders fit into.
  2. Aren't Trucks R us one of Chris Holder's sponsors???
  3. Not enough decent riders of an acceptable standard to go one league!! 19 clubs = 133 riders
  4. The Buccaneers had support but not enough to cover stadium and admin costs.
  5. As Matt also said, there are still some things that weren't confirmed at the AGM and still need further clarification - not least the averages of riders that either haven't ridden here before or not for over 3 years??!!
  6. Why would anyone look at that link when the list clearly states they are NOT the official Greensheet averages??! Issue 35 on the BSPA site are closer to the actual figures - but even they are not shown as the FINAL averages!!
  7. With Matt's comments today about ensuring Somerset are stronger with a decent number 1 - how about loaning Brady back to the Rebels for a season, along with both Holders??? Just a thought!! :-)
  8. So, what chance Kurtz and both Holders at Somerset????
  9. Interesting line-up --- if only the averages were correct??!!
  10. As of yesterday evening the SCB weren't aware of Vaculik's average - anymore than any of the other assessed riders!! The SCB have asked for the full 'independent' list of averages which they expect to receive later this week. (As advised by Gordon Pairman to me yesterday!!)
  11. So an 8 point rider has a poor start to the season and drops below 8 points in the first set of greensheet averages!! Does that mean another 8 pointer can be signed - and in theory at least - make the team even stronger within the 42.5 limit? PS. Bjerre cannot be vying with Cook for a BV team place yet as BV won't have yet had permission from Poole who own Bjerre's contract. Similar situation with NKI and KL if you believe MF's comments in today's local Echo?! In justifying the 'one over the eight' rule, he states its in everyone's interest to ensure that the likes of Somerset have a decent Number 1. He then goes on to mention several riders by name that he is in contact with - NKI, Bjerre, Holder, Andersen, Janowski and Madsen. So could this mean that for example Kurtz may be loaned back to Somerset (along with his mate Jack Holder) and also even with C.Holder(?), leaving Poole to sign another 8 pointer and a couple of 7 pointers to make a stronger 2-5?
  12. But now there are other options.......!! :-)
  13. Plus whatever terms are agreed with Nick Morris, Rosco gets a load of it back by charging for board and lodgings!!!
  14. The rule was voted in by the 4 teams who didn't make the play-offs!!
  15. If BV didn't get a vote then that explains how the 4 clubs who didn't reach the play-offs managed to outvote the other 3 that did!!!!
  16. The madness of the 8 point rider rule is that it has been introduced BEFORE the list of assessed averages has been decided. A member of the SCB was not able to tell me what average Vaculik is on and the SCB have not yet seen the full list of 'independently assessed' averages??!!
  17. If you are quoting from the BSPA site then include Woryna for Poole (as listed). 4.65
  18. Agree A ORLOV but who the hell would vote this rule in? It doesn't affect the Championship teams so who are the 5 (minimum) Premiership clubs that formed the majority in the vote?? Absolutely crazy decision.
  19. Yes but the 3 and 5 riders can easily become the number 1.
  20. BV were losing Bjerre anyway - more definite now that Wednesday is one of the fixed nights, but tough on Wolves and Swindon in particular. I wonder where Thorsell and either Doyle or Morris will race - or will it be 'if'?? Assuming it was the 8 Premiership clubs that voted in the 'one over the 8' rule, I wonder which clubs were in the majority?? Very odd rule.
  21. Tough on Swindon, having to lose one of their top 2. Wolves in the same boat!! I really can't see the logic behind 'only one 8+ point rider per team'?
  22. So Somerset v Poole in the KOC first round!! And there could still be a 'big' signing under 8 points within the 42.5?! My slightly playful 1-7 of yesterday may well have some legs....... Kurtz 8.08; Ellis 5.56 (or Newman or Starke); Holder 7.16; Gomolski 6.43; P.Pawlicki 7.32; Woryna 4.65; Shanes 2.95. Total 42.15?
  23. AGM finished at 1850 hours. Full update on www.speedwaygb.co at 10.00 am Monday Highlights include - good progress on fixed nights 8 Premiership teams 11 Championship teams Team building points limits agreed Fan views on tac-sub and start procedures taken note of plus other initiatives!!!?? Interesting only 8 Premiership teams??!! Will they be the current ones?
  24. Riders change clubs all the time - even World Champions especially if they understandably start asking for 'silly' money!! Remember Mark Loram!!? Anyway didn't Doyley do a 2 year deal for 2017 and 2018?
  25. Its funny. When I suggested Adam Ellis weeks ago many said it was unlikely - and it may still be if the points limit is less than 42 points!!?
