  1. Well done Steve!! Calm down mate. As long as the Clubs know what rules they are working to then that's the main thing. Rules will be submitted to the SCB and then issued in the usual way and timescale and will highlight any changes to the previous ones. If you've seen the video on the club website you will know that MF has welcomed the new logo designer into the 'backroom' team, which hopefully will see some improvements in the club's 'e-commerce' and social media activities. He also intends to announce the first 4 riders in the 70th Anniversary meeting this week and then likely 4 more at 2-week intervals. As for the 2018 1-7, Matt usually makes a key announcement just prior to Christmas.
  2. Whilst Poole dropping Kyle was seen by many as quite harsh, he was struggling after injury and his average was due to drop from 5.26 to below 4 if his poor form and injuries continued for another couple of meetings. Not sure quite who would have replaced him on a 3.5 ish average? What he scored for Ipswich is largely irrelevant - its how he performed at the top level with Leicester!! Didn't he get injured again in his first meeting on TV? He finished on 4.86 average, which is lower than his Poole average of 5.26 Kyle is well-liked by the majority of fans but at the time there were several things said publicly (not by Kyle) that I believe would make it difficult for him to return. Having said all that, at the end of the day its always going to be down to the numbers game, so who knows??
  3. Rosco has packed in his lorry driving this weekend to do something else as a day-job apparently?! Any info anyone?
  4. All these claims of unsustainability and yet we still have 19 clubs in the top 2 divisions, with or without a TV deal??!!
  5. Mark Loram didn't ask for more money. He wasn't even involved in the negotiation. It was all down to Norrie Allan demanding too much and MF refused to pay it and he made immediate contact with TR. It was even reported that Mark wished he'd been told sooner as he would have probably reached an agreement with Matt if he'd got involved personally but was so busy doing other stuff and being World Champion!!
  6. Anyone care to comment factually on the rumour thats appeared on other threads that there is no longer a Premiership requirement to include 2 Brits (or 2 former/current NL riders)??
  7. Hans did his 2 years at Poole - 2016 and 2017
  8. Aside from the 'one 8 and over rule', Swindon would have to lose over 4 points from their finishing team average to get within the 42.5 for next season, so its likely that either Jason or Nick would have gone anyway. If JD signs for Somerset then fine but if he ends up at KL (closer to his home) then I guess the BSPA Chairman may have had a casting vote after all??!! ;-)
  9. Doyley hasn't said he's gone (unless I've missed something?) just that he's not riding for Swindon.
  10. Matt's comments about 'new people coming on board' and 2018 being a 'crucial year for the club' make for some interesting supposition!! New co-promoters and sponsors maybe??! ;-)
  11. As far as I'm aware they are not in the 2017 Premiership either and the sport is trying to cut down on 'guests'!!
  12. Well said Steve - I do think its time that this thread was put in the right section though!!
  13. Matt knows exactly how best to use the local media to keep Poole in the sports pages through the Winter months. Incidentally - a bit like Swindon's announcement about signing Adam and Zack as assets - Woryna hasn't yet been officially announced as in the 2018 line-up, despite him being listed on the BSPA site!!! As for James Shanes I reckon he will double up/down with one of the Championship Thursday tracks - 2 of which offered him a deal mid-season this year but by then he had too many fixture clashes. I will be amazed if he's not Poole's Number 7 in 2018.
  14. I think the Championship have ended up with pretty much everything they could have wished for from the AGM (more of them to vote things through I guess) and once again its the Premiership that is made to suffer with stupid rules that once again pander to the weaker teams!! Even the MC has more SGBC reps on it. Lets hope that the future of the whole sport continues to be the aim rather than the future of the Championship and we get to see more stronger riders gracing the Premiership at some point.
  15. MF pushed for Wednesdays as an alternative only after it became apparent that 2 of the 3 Thursday Championship clubs threatened not to run if Thursdays became a Premiership fixed night!!!
  16. Zmarzlik was assessed at 6.50 in 2014.
  17. So a single T/S replaces a double points T/R!!. I'll just stand back and watch the stadia fill up across the country
  18. Its not about faith its about numbers. Always has been always will be. At the time it was a 'done deal' albeit verbally and was being openly discussed by several Poole sponsors, you know, the ones that still appeared prominently on his 2017 kevlars. Maybe Jonny the Spud will confirm what he told me in his PM to me.
  19. Just to repeat what I put on the Swindon thread - as it was me that started the 'Ellis Poole asset' whisper on here as that was what was being discussed by several Poole sponsors at the time - according to Adam's dad (Jonny the Spud) the deal between Lakeside and Poole was agreed, BUT then Lakeside increased what they wanted for him and MF pulled out. According to the full Swindon statement neither Ellis nor Waijnecht are guaranteed a 2018 team place despite them becoming assets!! It'll be a numbers game as it is for all clubs' team building.
  20. Quite right. As Adam's dad (Jonny the Spud for those that don't know) PM'd me over a month ago, the deal between Lakeside and Poole was agreed - but then Lakeside increased their price!! MF never pays over the odds. Incidentally, the Swindon statement says that neither Adam or Zach are confirmed in the Robins 1-7 yet!! As with most clubs the final line-ups will be down to the numbers adding up correctly!
  21. Zengota is 7.79 in the final 2017 BSPA list today.
  22. Hope thats not a sign that MF is being ruled by his heart rather than his head??! NB. I assume that as there has been no announcement to the contrary - each team will still have to track 2 Brits (or riders that have ridden NL)?!
  23. So why would Matt Ford state publicly yesterday that the '8 and over' rule was agreed so that the SGBP could ensure 'the likes of Somerset could get a strong number one'!!? ps. Woryna should be 4.65 as that was his final 2016 average.
