  1. Maybe not - but the relationship that MF has with the Echo means that he wouldn't have approved the article without it being correct. Also as far as 'discussions with Kacper during the 2nd week of December' are concerned, MF usually hosts a Sponsors Xmas Party in that week and usually introduces another signing?! ;-)
  2. For each of the minimum of 10 TV meetings, couldn't each of the 8 SGBP teams get one of the GP stars to guest for that meeting.?? The £3k from BT could go straight to the GP rider, with extra fans attracted to that meeting (and possibly others) on the strength of seeing a couple of top riders they wouldn't normally see?? Silly idea maybe but thought I'd try thinking 'out of the box' before the sport ends up in one!!
  3. Woryna - although NOT confirmed as signed for 2018 - will be on 4.65 as reported by MF in today's local Echo!!
  4. But at least the article confirms he will be on 4.65
  5. Of course Chris Holder will be on 7.16. He's on the BSPA list as such, as that's what he achieved in 2017..
  6. That so-called statement was incorrect as confirmed by SteveBrum who was at the fans forum. Matt Ford's name was NOT mentioned in any way in the context of 9 point GP riders.
  7. The way Middlo is quoted in the SS and previously in the Echo, it would now be a major shock if Chris Holder isn't in the 1-7!!!!
  8. Woryna is listed in the Speedway Star today on 4.65.
  9. Oooh I think I'll have to brush up on my Polish!! :-)
  10. The BT/SGP/BSI contract is totally separate from any BT/BSPA arrangement.
  11. I'm sure he can -- remember how much his weight ballooned last time at the other pub. His missus Julie is in charge of the cooking.....!!
  12. The one '8 and over' rule was agreed at the AGM by the 'family' of SGBP clubs in order to allow the 'lower' clubs to be more competitive. (as confirmed by Gordon Pairman, SCB). The new assessment of GP riders who didn't ride here in 2017 of 9 points has been decided since the AGM. Those assessments are usually made 'independently' (well as far as Peter Oakes is ever independent?!), along with the averages of other as yet 'untried' riders in the UK!!
  13. Yes - its all over Facebook this morning!! Takes over Friday 1st!!
  14. I thought the Aces (new promoters) weren't allowed to vote?! Even if they were and it was 4-4 then the Chairman would have a casting vote (remind me again who the Chairman is????)
  15. Does it really matter what the GP riders are assessed at - 8.00; 8.50 or 9.00. teams can still have only one 8 and over!! As for Doyle, he's stated in the past that he would never ride for Poole again (well at least not while MF is there). I agree with SB that Rye could be are a serious contender for Doyle's signature.
  16. FB I think you may have mis-heard or misunderstood the comments in the video. He was talking about naming the first 4 riders in the 70thAnniversary meeting during the week and then the next 4 at fortnightly intervals. Brand values and brand awareness are much more than simply a new logo. PIRATES and POOLE are the brand and we all now look forward to see how they are marketed, promoted and publicised - especially through social media, the website a nd the traditional media methods.
  17. Yeah but my dad is bigger than his............!! FFS.
  18. Well done Steve!! Calm down mate. As long as the Clubs know what rules they are working to then that's the main thing. Rules will be submitted to the SCB and then issued in the usual way and timescale and will highlight any changes to the previous ones. If you've seen the video on the club website you will know that MF has welcomed the new logo designer into the 'backroom' team, which hopefully will see some improvements in the club's 'e-commerce' and social media activities. He also intends to announce the first 4 riders in the 70th Anniversary meeting this week and then likely 4 more at 2-week intervals. As for the 2018 1-7, Matt usually makes a key announcement just prior to Christmas.
  19. Whilst Poole dropping Kyle was seen by many as quite harsh, he was struggling after injury and his average was due to drop from 5.26 to below 4 if his poor form and injuries continued for another couple of meetings. Not sure quite who would have replaced him on a 3.5 ish average? What he scored for Ipswich is largely irrelevant - its how he performed at the top level with Leicester!! Didn't he get injured again in his first meeting on TV? He finished on 4.86 average, which is lower than his Poole average of 5.26 Kyle is well-liked by the majority of fans but at the time there were several things said publicly (not by Kyle) that I believe would make it difficult for him to return. Having said all that, at the end of the day its always going to be down to the numbers game, so who knows??
  20. Rosco has packed in his lorry driving this weekend to do something else as a day-job apparently?! Any info anyone?
  21. All these claims of unsustainability and yet we still have 19 clubs in the top 2 divisions, with or without a TV deal??!!
