Must be a Poole/Swindon thing!!!
-
If there's a real problem with Sam's injury, I'm sure Piotr Pawlicki would be here like a shot on his reassessed 7+ point average!!
-
Speedway riders have to have a lot of bottle to race at full gas at a young age. Morris got his bottle when he was much younger!!
-
Not only did they object but 2 of the clubs even threatened not to run if they had to lose their Thursday race day!!
-
I'm not sure that anyone else would want to loan him in future years so a sale now might well be better business - especially as MF has already publicly stated he may well sell a couple of assets to help 'balance his books' from last year!!
-
If true, then I guess its down to how much Jensen is prepared to pay for him as Matt will be wanting decent dosh rather than just a loan fee!!
-
I fail to see what is difficult for some to understand about fixed race nights. Whichever night is selected as the 'preferred' night, all clubs will have some home meetings on either night during the season (with Swindon also on some Thursdays). Some weeks it may be a Monday, other weeks a Wednesday!! Crikey, its not rocket science!! (Unless you're at Rye House of course - you see what I did there?!)
-
What I'm paying to be out of the country that week would more than pay for a whole table plus champagne!!!!!
-
As its the 70th Anniversary Dinner then I suppose £70 per head would be more apt - but lets not forget all the costs of the riders and guests the like of Tony Rickardsson and Mark Loram etc have to be covered. The function room at AFC Bournemouth only has a maximum Dinner capacity of 250, so as the announcement says - it won't take long to sell out. I guess the knack of ensuring your attendance is to know one of the clubs many sponsors!!? Its a shame I'm out of the country that week and will miss both the meeting on 23rd and the Dinner, otherwise my £80 would have been in the post today!!

Yep. Poole v Somerset home and away Good Friday. Currently SGBP but could be KO Cup?!
-
Just as well Brady rides the UK tracks a lot better then - as his higher average proves. I seem to remember Rohan couldn't hack it as a Number 1 and had to settle for a 6.18 2nd string role!!!
-
Starry had an op to remove a non-cancerous brain tumour. It all went successfully at Southampton General and he is now in the recuperation/recovery stages.
-
Starman's mum said on facebook that he was allowed home for 3 days at the beginning of the week to see how he was, but not heard any more (He wasn't at the Fans quiz night on Wednesday - probably the first one he's ever missed!!)
-
Woryna will have identical kit to his Polish equipment!!
-
If Poole are looking good on paper with only 5 of their team announced then things should look really good when the whole 7 are confirmed!! Even if when its not the starting 7 that will contest the play-offs!!
-
Good to see the RH website getting in first with their 2018 Christmas Greetings - Oh no wait a bit, on closer examination.........................!!??
-
Equal first with Tungate after 3 rounds - consistent or what?! - one round to go!!
-
....but far easier to replace than Hans if he underperforms?!!!
-
I refuse to be critical of the Speedway Star as I have it on subscription and find it a great read. I would however request that your Matchday Programme reviewer takes on board your own comments above about not 'turning away what little advertising is available' when doing their critique of each club's programme efforts. In fact your reviewer will always mark down the score of any programme that in his opinion has 'too much advertising'!!! With the finances of most clubs teetering on the brink (or so we are told?!) then surely every attempt at maximizing revenue through a matchday programme should be just as applauded as the amount and quality of any editiorial/pictorial content!! rant over.

Ha ha. That's given me several minutes of good catching up!! However, the first part of my post is 100% correct. I made no comment at all about him being in the starting line-up as all the 9 point (now 8 point?) assessed averages for GP riders are clearly for initial team-building to the 42.50 limit. Woe betide any of the starting top 4 (or 5) who may not perform to their abilities or may even get injured before the first set of new averages cos there would be a ready-made replacement with a valid 7 point average from the last time he rode in the EL, waiting in the wings - terms agreed; sponsorship sorted - whats not to like?! Who knows - it could also apply to other riders eg Lindback - but it doesn't!! As others have said, the first option - subject to the Poles ruling - is Sundstrom and Shanes.
-
Terms agreed with Pawlicki after getting permission from Wolves - just the outstanding question of what average he may still be re-assessed on?!
-
Was told last night at the Poole supporters quiz night that provisional fixtures are with the clubs and should be released within days!!
-
Reality setting in after touting himself to other clubs where sponsorship is good - but being turned down!!
-
Some of us got 16/1. The horse is owned by one of Poole's long-standing sponsors. Darcy himself was asked and agreed for the horse to be named after him.
