The last line of the Poole statement about the Sundstrom signing states 'Poole fans will be excited to watch him on the Poole shale'!! So aside from the actual signing, it seems we are to get some shale too!!
-
...but its not Swindon Speedway that are paying for it, is it. Sounds a lot like the glass-fronted restaurant/bars/grandstand that Stadia UK built at poole many moons ago.
-
If the final rider is a Poole asset, I guess Matt Ford is keeping all his own alternative options open until the final paperwork for Sundstrom has come through from Gorzow?! Can't blame him (or any other promoter) for that!!
-
Great article - should be shared to as many sports media outlets as possible.
-
Where have I said theres anything wrong with it?? All tracks (except possibly KL) take notice of their senior riders!!
-
Although clearly written for a greyhound readership this has to be great news for the Robins and their fans. The new grandstand has similarities with the one at Poole, which although built 20 years ago, still provides an excellent facility.
-
His male modelling career seems to be going quite well though - when he's not injured!!
-
Whoever does the track, it'll be to Doyley's preference - make no mistake about that!!
-
I believe the 1800 hours time stated on the website is for the general public to attend. I am told that the introductions to the media, sponsors and invited guests will take place earlier!!
-
Not the same at all as both Ben and Zach rode in 2017!!
-
Using the 'Woryna' method ie taking the 2016 average, then NKI should be 9.04
-
I haven't been away!!??
-
Poole have increased by £1 to £18 - but that's the first increase in 3 years I think. Some clubs have been charging £18 for a couple of seasons. Buster's view is undoubtedly and understandably from a stadium owner's perspective, whereas some clubs only rent their facilities and have their income streams severely restricted!
-
So in an apparent change to previous years, Poole's P&P day (21st March) is listed for 1800 hours!!
-
Does that mean anyone bar Doyley able to take an r/r ride?
-
I thought there were 18 SGBP/SGBC teams last year. In 2018 there are 19 teams of 7 riders and not enough riders of SGBP/SGBC standard for one league - in my opinion of course!!
-
Same as Poole then!!
-
I wasn 't disagreeing with your earlier point. Just adding that in addition in the even years there are also major international sporting events that some speedway clubs would wish to avoid clashing with!! With the agreement to go to fixed race nights, this may well be made even more difficult. Some of the 'top' teams have lost their Saturday nights due to a greater importance given to other sports with whom they share stadium facilities (and who often own the stadia) OR due to lack of 'top' rider availability!
-
Not forgetting one of the World's biggest sporting tournaments in June/July - The FIFA World Cup!! Fixtrure scheduling for minor sports will always take a hit in the even numbered years due to Euros, World Cup, Olympics etc. With attendances already supposedly dwindling, who can blame Speedway bosses for not wanting to run against major sports on TV?
-
I see there is already a debate on who Richard Lawson will be riding for on Good Friday?! Somerset v Poole OR Lakeside v Ipswich - both 'double headers'!!?
-
The Polish authorities (PZM) have lifted the 3 league maximum rule, but all riders who wish to have a fourth league added into their Polish Ekstraliga contract, require their club's permission and new contract paperwork to be completed. Gorzow are all away from the office at the moment!!
-
Look whose hosting the Premiership Riders Championship in May??!!
-
Fixtures out tomorrow (Wednesday)!!
-
Full fixture lists in this week's Speedway Star as well.
-
What like the team from last season 'blended together'??? I think not! Brady and Kacper know each other very well as do the Aussie boys. The 2 Poles will gee each other up. We know what James is all about so that only leaves Linus to settle in!
