Poole v Wolves Premiership A. 23/5/18
SteveLyric2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm expecting a very tough meeting for the Pirates. Expect the track to be different - again!! - Its been different for every single home meeting so far! Thorsell finally sussed out the track last year and with Schlein, Masters and Howarth all liking the Wimborne Road circuit, I can see a narrow win for the Wolves unless ALL 7 Pirates have finally found their set-ups and gating gloves! -
Nothing to do with averages. Its visa and 'off-track' issues that should be sorted soon - although his injury last night may well again scupper his early return?!

Its not so much that you state your opinion but that you repeat it over and over and over again - usually with a bit of a dig at Poole included. We all get it - you have a thing about Poole - just try to be a bit more innovative and less repetitive! Better still do us all a favour and just give all the Poole threads a break for a while as you've said all there is to say from your perspective!! -
No worries BW they'll have another big chance next Wednesday, as Poole try to get their averages down further!

As who says? All the interviews with Middlo and the riders refer to the excellent team spirit this year - much better than last year!! What they are lacking - in my opinion - is a senior experienced rider as a proper leader. No disrespect to Josh G but his current form (set-ups) cannot be helping his team captaincy. Things will change for the better once the new averages are sorted after we get beaten by Wolves on Wednesday as I fully expect we will, on current form!! Of course if we manage a win then things are clearly not as bad as many are saying!! -
How on earth people think we can bring Freddie Lindgren in on a 9.29 (2017) average I just don''t know!!

1pm and a little drizzle locally - as per forecast!! -
Doubt it'll be Richie Worrall as he's not riding for Poole this evening after his crash last night!!

Surely you mean the magnificent 6?! NB, Am I wrong or didn't Doolan score a hatful of points previously at Wimborne Road? 49-41. -
Even the Rye House meeting report refers to Woryna making a 'terrific pass'!!

Worrall's 4th home (2017/18) meeting tomorrow so will get a new average!! PS, As part of the extra entertainment and value, there will be the first of 4 Schools Football matches from 6.45pm as well. The others to take place on successive home meetings! -
Wolves v Somerset 14th May

Good to see James Shanes getting the guest bookings for the Rebels this week. -
Ah I see some of the idiots have been let out of the asylum again!!
-
Not sure what Richie's average is or when it will change? He was on 7.26 last year but only did 3 home/4 away meetings so didn't get a new average.
-
So Chris hopeful of getting clearance this coming week so his visa application can be progressed once more. Meanwhile Richie Worrall replaces Kildemand who can't fulfill any more meetings.
-
Well it might be a 3 pointer if Smolli or another isn't signed in time!!!

Any issues with his son etc are not mentioned. The gist of the article headed 'Red Tape Tangle' is as follows. "Poole Team Manager Neil Middleditch admits Chris Holder is 'just a name on a list'!.. ....the Aussie is currently competing in Poland and Sweden...and is working to resolve the red tape currently stopping him from racing for Poole. ...it seems incredible that a former World Champion is still sweating on a visa for a country where he has lived for over a decade, has a son and owns property, while footballers - admittedly paying millions more in tax - can seemingly transfer to the UK at the drop of a hat.... ...The Pirates boss accepts the club will have to bide their time 'its all red tape.Unfortunately Chris is just a name on a list. Its a case of when they get to him, they get to him!'.. ...it was all going through, and then it hit stumbling blocks. The brakes are on. There is nothing we can do. You can't hurry these things unfortunately, it doesn't matter who you are. You're just a name on a list." Bearing in mind that the visa application process could not have begun until Holder's ban was finished (as until that time he didn't have an actual job!) the paperwork would have had to be 100% correct! Maybe it wasn't and maybe there was an objection to it - which may be part of the 'stumbling block' referred to in the article. Hopefully it will be resolved sooner rather than later. watch this space!

Just to be clear the Smolinski talks are for short term cover for Kildermand who has finished his temporary cover for Chris Holder. Chris' situation is partially explained in the Speedy Star this week. (Apologies if this has already been stated!!)
-
Hope it doesn't affect his GP summarising with Natalie on Saturday?!
-
So will the Smolinski signing be done in time for Monday and will it make any difference? Although after witnessing Scotty's performance at Poole last night, maybe we might have a hope after all!?
-
Because its to do with a work permit for the UK. Even if he'd been allowed to sign for Somerset with his brother it would still have been the same, Should be some progress (hopefully) next week. As for the Smolinski talks - its for short term cover as PK has finished his stint as well as having Danish commitments.
-
I wonder what would have happened if the BSPA had stuck to their Premiership Mondays/Thursdays fixed race nights - having initially agreed those 2 days with the FIM?!
-
Fixed race nights... early indications!!!

With Woffy back in the GB fold and an article in the Daily Star today, maybe more national coverage may follow?!
