I was under the impression that visa/work permit applications need to be supported/ sponsored usually but not always by the rider's employer ie in most instances, his club?! For the SGPs it would be BSI For the Speedway of Nations it would be either the FIM or the rider's home association.

I can think of a few!!!

Matt Ford complains about Assets
SteveLyric2 replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Its not the assets that won't/can't ride in the UK that he's commented on especially - its the assets that do race in the UK for other teams. -
For the GPs doesn't BSI get 'blanket' visas for all riders for all rounds? Or something similar?

Even before the end of the 2017 season fixtures, word went around to the Poole sponsors and commercial partners that racing in 2018 would be Mondays and Thursdays!! -

Anyway back to the thread - anyone know yet how many Danes and others might be missing from this meeting?! -

That is totally incorrect as far as MF was concerned. The objectors were 2 of the 3 Thursday tracks from the Championship who threatened to pull out of the league altogether. (No problem for the Sheffield/Leicester owners as if Thursdays were confirmed then Sheffield would have been SGBP and Leicester SGBC). If you want to use the 'toys out of the pram' analogy then look no further than Chris Louis!! Thursdays were more than acceptable to Poole as it is and has always been their official published 'rain-off' day. Mondays and Wednesdays were only proposed to get over the impasse as the Championship clubs stuck together. -

Just to clarify, The Danish League fixtures take priority on Wednesdays and that affects riders from other countries - ie not just Danes. This has already affected Kings Lynn with NKI, Lambert, Palm-toft, Jorgensen and Andersen all missing KL meetings. The early season rain-offs have just made the situation worse - Kings Lynn are already racing on Monday 18th that week. The only possible way out is if Danish clubs hold fixtures on Fridays as some already do. -
'Young Sir'?? Mediman will love that!!

Nuff said.

Not sure why this topic is on the Premiership section? Surely its the Championship teams that should have a minimum of 3 young Brits in each team, plus a limit on the number of foreign riders?!
-
Where was the motocross? Quite a way away from Poole presumably?!

Bless.......!!

I think Batch has ridden at Poole this year nearly as much as he's ridden at Swindon!!!! -
If it were me I'd put legal pressure on the Council who in turn do the same to Stadia UK to pay for the track to be 'sorted'. Matt only rents the stadium 'facilities' after all!! Or maybe with the longer term redevelopment of the whole stadium site still on the Council planners' table (which may see a reconfigured track within a reconfigured facility?) maybe nobody is prepared to 'invest' a huge amount?! Lets not forget Matt paid for turns 1 and 2 to be relaid before the season started and those improvements were readily agreed by the riders to give a smooth surface - admittedly in hindsight it could have been done earlier with time to settle, but maybe Matt doesn't rent or have access to the facility between November and February? Why would he or anyone?
-
Just as a matter of interest, if Matt was to chuck it all in, aside from all those on here that would do the expected cheering whooping and generally pi$$ing themselves, who do you think would be in a position to buy the club - both financially and looking at speedway as a whole - or would people be happy for the club to just disappear?! Serious question.
-
Does your granddaughter know about VAT?? Also I would think based upon the average age of speedway punters - not just at Poole - I would guess that the average net income per head is no more than £11-£12.
-
Personally I don't even want to think about 2019 just yet. Matt has said he wants to give the current 1-7 a chance (with Klindt) but they only have 2 fixtures - 1xH/1xA - in June before the 23rd June cut-off for the next set of averages (if thats correct?!)
-
Alongside MF's story in the local Echo today about blocking Leicester from signing Klindt, Middlo was also interviewed on BBC Radio Solent this morning and said 'heads may roll' this month!!!
-
Only if the admission prices were reduced dramatically - and that ain't likely to happen. Championship clubs are charging almost the same as many SGBP clubs now

It was the referee's decision after consulting with the riders Starry your explanation of events and attempts to get the meeting on are correct. However one thing that was not mentioned is the difficulty the track has in draining properly due to the local water table and high tides. Middlo's explanation in the Echo has clarified that all the water got into the base in certain parts of the track and managed to break up the base causing much of the repair work that Glyn had carried out before the season started to be wrecked, leaving holes that were deemed too dangerous for racing.. No body can deny that the track has been much much smoother during early season even though with very different weather conditions EVERY week its proved difficult to provide a consistent surface for the riders. The riders met with Glyn in a behind closed doors session after the Rye House meeting, the results of which provided a great meeting against Wolves - albeit somewhat dusty in places! I hope that with the 2 week break ahead of us, the club has enough time (and money) to properly repair the trackbase again. -
