Rumour has it that Stewart Dickson, the former Glasgow Promoter/Team Manager/ Track curator etc etc is overseeing the track work this time.

They did have to get a new track curator - not something to be done overnight. Not sure who it is but today was the earliest he could make himself and the equipment available.

I was under the impression that visa/work permit applications need to be supported/ sponsored usually but not always by the rider's employer ie in most instances, his club?! For the SGPs it would be BSI For the Speedway of Nations it would be either the FIM or the rider's home association.

I can think of a few!!!

Its not the assets that won't/can't ride in the UK that he's commented on especially - its the assets that do race in the UK for other teams.

For the GPs doesn't BSI get 'blanket' visas for all riders for all rounds? Or something similar?

Even before the end of the 2017 season fixtures, word went around to the Poole sponsors and commercial partners that racing in 2018 would be Mondays and Thursdays!!

Thats because he's the only Aussie with personal complicating issues!!

That is totally incorrect as far as MF was concerned. The objectors were 2 of the 3 Thursday tracks from the Championship who threatened to pull out of the league altogether. (No problem for the Sheffield/Leicester owners as if Thursdays were confirmed then Sheffield would have been SGBP and Leicester SGBC). If you want to use the 'toys out of the pram' analogy then look no further than Chris Louis!! Thursdays were more than acceptable to Poole as it is and has always been their official published 'rain-off' day. Mondays and Wednesdays were only proposed to get over the impasse as the Championship clubs stuck together.

Just to clarify, The Danish League fixtures take priority on Wednesdays and that affects riders from other countries - ie not just Danes. This has already affected Kings Lynn with NKI, Lambert, Palm-toft, Jorgensen and Andersen all missing KL meetings. The early season rain-offs have just made the situation worse - Kings Lynn are already racing on Monday 18th that week. The only possible way out is if Danish clubs hold fixtures on Fridays as some already do.

Not sure why this topic is on the Premiership section? Surely its the Championship teams that should have a minimum of 3 young Brits in each team, plus a limit on the number of foreign riders?!

Where was the motocross? Quite a way away from Poole presumably?!
