  1. KK now at number 1!! Now you know what most Poole fans felt like last year!!
  2. Although totally different circumstances I recall - with a slightly wry smile - when Poole dropped the 'loyal Kyle Newman' last year there was an outcry in favour of the rider, but when Somerset drop the 'loyal Charles Wright', some are totally supportive of the management! Strange bedfellows some of speedway's folk!!!
  3. So the line-ups are: Rebels: Doyle; Wilson-Dean; Vissing; Lawson; Holder; Allen; Covatti. Pirates: Brady; Linus; Richie; r/r for Nicolai; Josh; Mateusz; Kacper (NB I've used christian names for Poole as far easier and quicker to spell)!! Still think this could be a tight one
  4. Not sure how the Rebels will be with Vissing and Covatti in for Wright and Jeppesen. The moral here is clearly 'Don't mess with Garry May'!!
  5. Anyone know who prints the matchday programme scoresheet, 'cos they would know the intended line-ups!!
  6. ....but Shanes rides for Sheffield on a Thursday!!
  7. Suspected broken collarbone!! The official averages from the BSPA website are:- KB 8.08 HA 7.50 DK 6.73 KP 6.50 KN 5.29 TK 4.02 JS 3.00
  8. Absolutely. Couldn't agree more. The previously agreed (with the FIM) Mon/Thurs for the Premiership was primarily to give priority to the senior UK racing on those nights, by avoiding the majority of other European league fixtures ie Sweden Tuesday; Denmark Weds/Fri; Poland Fri/Sat/Sun. An added benefit would be a reduced reliance on guests for missing doubling up/down riders. Another side benefit might have been to attract more of the 'top' riders - but because some clubs couldn't afford them the BSPA chose to introduce the only 'one over the 8' rule'! As for 2019, who knows?! With the likes of Belle Vue and Rye House in particular suffering huge downturns in attendance and undoubtedly losing money hand over fist but with TV currently requiring a 'top' league goodness knows what the league set up will be? Maybe one league of 4-5 rider teams?!
  9. Yet here we all are on the Poole 2018 thread!!
  10. Very interesting article by Terry Russell in this week's Speedway Star - amongst other things admitting that the BSPA got it wrong by changing the Premiership from the previously agreed Mon/Thurs (to avoid clashes with the International calendar) to Monday/Weds purely down to pressure from the Championship Clubs.
  11. Hans Andersen or Musialak would fit - if they're not riding elsewhere.
  12. By next month (july 2018) he will have been out for a year anyway!!
  13. Whilst at Poole on Wednesday we were getting texts to that effect - just wanted to check?!
  14. Can anyone throw any light on rumours of Doyley 'losing it' with a section of the crowd?1
  15. Just a bit of extra info re Kacper Woryna's crash. He clipped the back straight kick board and lost his footrest, which meant he had no balance going into bends 3-4 which is why he crashed. Some may have seen Nicolai Klindt going to the kick board and 'kicking' it back into its correct position!! As for Brady he has x-rays on his knee after his heat 13 crash.
  16. If he was 'recalled at the last minute' why was he listed in the Holsted team line-up for tonight before the weekend?!
  17. Matt Ford said on BBC Radio Solent this morning (at about 0749 hours) that 'there is still the possibility of one or two more changes'!!
  18. Only Kerr and the reserves can take the r/r rides based on the new averages. Of course one of them might become a Tac Sub?!
  19. Still buy it 'cos not everything appears online - habit of a life time - then pass it on to my mother!!
  20. Its the 12th August, effective on 15th August!!? (Rule 16.3.4)
  21. There is an article in the printed version of today's Bournemouth Echo (not on the online version as yet!!) about the track work that has gone on.It reads: "Matt Ford believes the Wimborne Road track is back to its best after extensive repair work was carried out. ...Ford admitted material costing thousands of pounds had been placed on the track but that it had not been fit for purpose. And the Poole promoter is hopeful that following repairs, those problems will be a thing of the past.....We have had to go in different directions to resolve the problem. On Friday (8th June) we had six different people working on the track - both current and ex-track curators had an input. ...The product which we had put on was the same as that used by Somerset and the Isle of Wight and all of us had to take it off. It was just not capable of doing the job. The material just wouldn't bind, it was just like sand.'I'm very confident the issue has now been resolved".
  22. And he was at the Motocross at Winchester too. Maybe he's an 'illegal' and jumped on a lorry at Calais?!
